The payout I requested was for the remaining balance in my account $339.38, minus the $35 wire transfer fee charged by MyBookie.ag, which came out to $304.38. The amount I received in my account was $279.38, amounting to a shortage of $25.
When I spoke to the representative at MyBookie.ag, he said the $25 was due to "an internal processing fee." I disputed that assertion and noted no such fee was advertised on the site. After some back and forth, the representative said he would put $25 in my MyBookie account; advised this was unsatisfactory and I wanted the $25 that was owed to me.
The representative put his manager on. The manager apologized for the "fee" and said it was their fault. He said he would fix the situation by putting $25 in my account and if I got my account up to $100 I could withdraw the money and they would waive the transfer fee. It was then that I realized this was a scam and I refused the $25 credit. When I advised I would contact my credit card company and dispute the last deposit to my account, the manager said he would have me "blacklisted." In a threatening tone he further stated he would have collections after me if I disputed the charge. Lastly, he said it sounded like I was "broke" because I wanted $25 instead of playing on their site. I told the manager he was a thief and hung up the phone.
It took several phone calls from me just to get this payout. After doing some open source Internet research, I found this site and learned that MyBookie regularly engages in the practice of shorting clients their payouts so they are compelled to play/gamble more on their site. This is illegal and predatory.
