We're heading back toward 1,000+ deaths per day. Half or more of those just in FL, TX, AZ, CA.

The country took this thing seriously when it was a NYC, Chicago and Detroit problem, but now that it's mostly red states nobody seems to care. We shut down to protect blue states but now won't shut down to protect red states? Why aren't right-wingers complaining about this?

probably because most ppl on the right dont want a lockdown. ppl can make their own decisions and decide if they want to self quarantine or risk getting sick. you dont need the government to make those decisions for you.

i think the government should be focusing on helping at risk ppl who cant take care of themselves and expanding hospital capacity.

How do you know MOST people on the right don’t want a lockdown? This is not a right left issue. This is a Global Pandemic.

Why shouldn’t the government make laws/decisions for its people? There’s a lot of dumb asses out there. Why should we allow dumb asses To hurt themselves or others that we all end up paying for? Why would we allow idiots to infect the masses? I think the government should have had a forced quarantine months ago. We would have nipped this virus in the bud. We have many laws to protect the masses, especially to protect the dumb. Gun laws, automobile laws, environmental, housing, etc. all to protect society from themselves. You are not free to do anything in this country. You have to follow laws.

This dumb ass climbed on a dead whale with several large sharks chomping on it. The Australian government later created a law that you can’t stand on a dead whale carcass to prevent dumb asses from themselves.

i dont know for certain. that i said probably. yes there are plenty of laws that are only designed to protect ppl from themselves but that doesnt mean that i agree with them. you shouldnt give the government this type of control because you end up with laws restricting activities like gambling and smoking pot. if that guy wants to swim with sharks then its fine by me. i choose risky freedom over safe oppression.

I am all for personal freedom UNTIL it impacts other people. Get high or drunk as much as you want in your own home but the moment you get in a car or commit a crime while high, we should come down 10x as much on that person. Irresponsible people impacts us. They end up in the hospital with no insurance and we the taxpayers foot their bill. Risky freedom cost taxpayers. Some idiot riding a shark or going out on a boat during a hurricane. We then have to allocate resources to save them.

Freedom comes at a cost. I’m not willing to pay for everyone’s dumb ideas.

do drug laws actually save tax money? i doubt it. we have to pay for enforcement and imprisonment not to mention all the death and violence caused by gangs. the drugs themselves are even more dangerous in a black market. does the lockdown save tax money. obviously not.

There’s 2 ways at looking at it. I believe people should have the right to do drugs in the privacy of their own homes BUT do I really want my community to be full of drug addicts? I’m all for gambling, I’m a degenerate myself BUT would I want a casino in my backyard? Nope.

Making America great again to me is going back to biblical principles. Not sure that could ever happen at this point. This country needs God in a big way.

Because shutdowns don't "protect" anyone. They just hurt more people. But good sheeple will do what the broke overlords tell them, or those worried about fake news being disseminated to hurt their next election bid.

Everything should be open and we should tell the people with the greatest risk to take precaution XYZ. That's always what you should do. You are never going to have some paradise especially when you consider totallly unhealthy fat asses dying and oldies finally not getting bailed out something that is a tragedy. It's not. It's life.

Most everything should be open, with proper precautions. Not quite everything, but most everything. The death rate is less now because the medical community has learned a lot and has better treatment protocols i.e. remdesivir.

But there are still certain environments (bars and other large indoor gatherings) that are just pure breeding grounds and totally irresponsible in areas where there are an elevated number of cases. Small smart changes can make a huge difference. Open everything do what you want is lazy and stupid and dangerous.

    Amen!

I’ve said since the beginning the economic impact of shut downs far more damning than what the actual virus will do. Common sense, those at high risk of it being fatal should take precaution. I can even live with using a mask at certain indoor situations, but to shut everything down is a joke.

Shutting everything down for 2 weeks would have been the best idea. Half assing it with many cities not shutting down completely was a bad joke. This virus should be dead by now.

    • This is the mugs gallery of the losers to COVID. All completely phucked it up with the USA strongly ensconced in the #1 spot.
    • The rest of the world is doing fine. They can travel between each others countries(Americans not welcome) and have sports, etc.
    • The saddest part is the USA is just warming up to even more disaster.

    Fact is

    - Corona is a wicked virus that has a chance to affected you 5 years from now, you just don't know it now. They are starting to find awful blood clots in all organs of the body during autopsies. If that is the case, lung inflammation is the least of your worries.

    - Most on SBR don't understand what blood vessel damage can do to the human body long term

    - Lots of people in America just want to get back to work or go out, do stuff like Disney parks

    - Most of the info has all been made public now. What ppl want to do now is up to them. You want to take your kids to Disney, go for it. No one is stopping you. You live with the results.

Alcohol weakens it long term. People drank whiskey during the 1919 pandemic to survive. Alcohol kills bacteria. Partly why they are telling us to keep our hands clean with it.

    70,000+ cases and now exponential.
    800+ deaths and rising.

Buckle up the rough part is still ahead.

While most of the world kicks back and chills, America is facing the biggest challenge since WW2.

Covid-19 is a virus, not a bacterial infection. I'm not a doctor but I know that these are two completely separate animals.

We may not get to the earlier death rate, because doctors have gotten better at keeping people alive i.e. remdesivir. But that also means longer hospitalizations and more survivors with long-term issues.

Yeah, and it's inevitably going to start ticking back up in places that had previously bent the curve. And then it could be everywhere all at once again, worse than the first go 'round.

I'm closer to being President. Doctors need credentials and qualifications. The President just has to be 35+ years old and born in the US. That's about it.
