Beerdog and mpas, there is a new brewery in downtown Henderson called Lovelady Brewing Co. It opened around a year ago shortly before I left Vegas. Never got a chance to stop in but have heard a lot of good things..

I've actually had a chance to chat with Barry Bonds, Ronnie Lott, Eric Byrnes, Mark Madson, Josh Childress/Casey Jacobson (ex Stanford bball stars), Michelle Pfeiffer, Jim Plunkett....none of them really gave me pause nor felt like I was talking to a stars.

I've had a chance to chat with Neil Young a few times. Now THAT was hard for me. I was giddy like a little kid and had trouble keeping my words ahead of my brain. 80 percent of people around me had no clue who he was. I've crossed paths w/ a good # of REAL celebrities. My experience is that u DON'T want to be the guy that stops them and says "You mind taking a picture w/ me?"

They mind! All day long...they have 100 people interrupting them.

Saw Matthew Perry + Bruce Willis walking hall in Vegas. You could see that THEY knew every set of eyes was on em.

I saw Brent Musberger outside mall in Hawaii. Dude is bigger + more decrepit in person. Been around forever. I walked past and gave him a simple "enjoy your calls, man."

Coolest celeb I saw at the poker-tables was Jose Canseco. Saw him there at a tournament and talked to him. "Excuse me, I have to ask. Are u Jose?"

He was cool. I told him how good he was. Said "I'm sorry about the passing of your teammate, Bob Welch." He reminded me that two OTHER A's passed away from that team. Tony Phillips + Dave Henderson.

If you guys want to fire machine guns then join the military and get paid to do it. You'll get to fire the 50 cal, 60 cal, M16, grenades, claymore mines, anti tank weapon (LAWS), etc. Its a great feeling to get behind a machine gun. the 2pm is what im looking at playing tuesday and maybe thursday...

not sure I can play it wednesday because my cousin lives out there and want to meet up with him and he is working doubles all week except for wednesday evening so ill probably meet him around 6pm after he's done with work and grab some dinner and a few beers with him.

Mpas, I can give u some estimates on what I've seen at the Rio 2pm:

* # of players has been averaging btw 1000 and 1100.

* I did manage to make the $$ twice. I think the $$bubble hits somewhere around 9pm (IIRC).

Final table finishes up somewhere around 5am, which makes for a marathon.

But the top-end $$ is quite good for a single-day tournament.
