Resorts World Las Vegas has a 117,000 sq ft casino.

Gonna be a lot of room for slots there.

It was the last time I drove to Vegas for the weekend. I flew out of Long Beach on JetBlue from that point on. Man that's a great flight. Just 1 hour and you can watch TV the whole way. Long Beach was a nice airport back then 10 years ago. Not even crowded on Friday afternoons.

The thread is about gamblers and tourists returning to Vegas. For that to happen, Vegas must earn a profit. To earn a profit, they need to focus on their most profitable games -- slots and other casino games. They do not care in the least about a bunch of broke sports bettors complaining on SBR.

    Slots slots and more slots.

    And hotel/resort fees.

    And slots.

Let's not forget that they now charge those casual or tourist guys for all kinds of food and breakfast that used to literally be free, event o them.

If you gamble, reward cards are essential. They don't pay shit for sports betting though. Best to churn them in video poker.

Blackjack tables and slot machines take up less space and provide more profits, Sports books are large and don't generate nearly as much profit.

That was only 50 days ago.

Especially one excellent food joint, The Blue Bayou.
At The Bayou, on a Sunday, if you're not weighing in at 250 plus, man, woman, or child, those lines are dangerous and near a 1/2 block long.

This guy won first place in line.

Many states allow slots and casino online. So it's relevant.

That said, it's a different experience. Don't think it necessarily replaces it.

I'm telling you guys, it's not just about the gambling, as huge as that is.

    Vegas is packed, it's booming.

It will always be a destination. They will book entertainment acts and conventions year round, it will always be crowded.

It's amazing just how much hotel space there is on the strip alone.

    Amazing.

    Also....slots, slots, and more slots.

Let's all meet in Vegas for a week and grind the shit out of video poker, the progressive banks. We can get free rooms or high discounts and food vouchers too and maybe even win a decent jackpot or two.

Just break some bankroll from sports off and dedicate it to the slot banks.

I'll handle accomodations, or go in disguised and we'll earn them anyway...lol.

Yeah, I think you're basically right. And now with Raiders this it's another notch up. I'm booked for Vegas the weekend that the Eagles are in town and MLB champ series. Expecting wall to wall people. Might have to make more reservations in advance than usual.

If you drive to Vegas from LA though you are either transporting drugs or just plain stupid. Haven't made that drive in 15 years.

I struck a nerve with this post.

I left 30 years ago and don't regret it.

No matter what my good friend FH says.

We first went there in 80 for a visit and thought it was paradise.

Two hicks from Iowa were suckers.

    Yeah but remember those days?

The anticipation of the road trip, getting hammered before we even get there, tons of energy under the bright lights.

Two days later dragging our asses home on no sleep.

Good Times, and the promise of being up 5 Hundy by midnight!!!!!!!!!!

This past mid-spring, Circa was loud and booming on the hottest nights.
    Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
They were rowdy and very crowded.

They are now the Crown Jewel of sports gambling in L.V. and I see them staying that way for decades.
Don't go there hungry, though. Save that hundred for gambling.

For sure - the drive was fun back then. Took 4 hours or less. Get geeked when you hit State Line or even Bun Boy, eat some Alien Fresh jerky and smoke hella weed. Now I am looking to be as comfortable as possible at all times lol.

Whiskey Pete's 99 cent shrimp cocktail at the stateline.

Used to gamble there on a fake ID and I looked so young then.

Yes sir. I’m gone June 6th - July 17th in a cooler part of the country but ready to roll after. Things are slowly getting back to normal. Was at Park MGM last night for dinner and only half the places open. Demand picking up but staffing rough.
