I stopped gambling after the post and need to get this under control. Only been 3 days but it's a start.

One day at a time, thank you for the suggestions.

Leave the man alone would ya? He likes posting his picks. You fukkers gang up on him like gang stalking. And I like a few of you fukkers that are doing it so that's bad. Morino, I'm 4-1 on my sides in the bowl games so far. PM me if you think I could help you. Not saying you need help, just offering it. I don't bet as much as I would on NFL or even a major bowl game for my own reasons. Those reasons are from years of experience. Low rung bowl games.

I think every gambler has said that w/o a doubt. Hit a few losing streaks, which every gambler does, unless you are in the "book of liars"?.......and you consider shutting it down for good.

That is longer than a lot can last. When you get the itch, start trying to make those rules for yourself and analyze your own behavior. If you start really thinking about what you are doing, you'll be able to get past it.

Just being able to recognize the problem puts you way ahead and the fact that you do not like doing it anymore. Most people don't really want to quit. They just try to make themselves.

10 days gambling free, I feel like a heavy weight is being lifted and this is the least stressful last week I've had in years.

I need to continue this for a long time until the urges will stop. But I'll say for anyone trying to quit, it feels like a relief not distracted by every bet and stressing about every football play or basketball shot.

Great 10 days is good.. keep it up.

You should move on to the next phase.. mental betting.. where you can derive a bit of brain pleasure without betting actual money.. for example... take a quick look at tomorrow’s card let us know who you like just one play in any league...I look forward to seeing your mental play for tomorrow.

    I’ll tail.

Good work pal. Just remember, you don't have to quit forever, just quit for today. Rinse and repeat and before you know it you will have 11 days. There's an app called clean time counter you can use to track your progress in a widget on your phone.

Alot over the decade but was up this year overall. I'm just tired of the mental drain of betting though.

The money is part of why I quit, but the mental health and stress is a big reason.

Probably the biggest problem you have is that you do not have anything better to do. That's a big problem.

If you want to quit, you have to make it harder to gamble. Make some rules for yourself. Make yourself have to win. Responsible gambling is boring. If you gamble responsibly, you will have no hard time quitting because you will be bored to death.

But you really have to find something else to do with your time.

Can’t argue that. The distraction is why I have scaled back over the years. The time drain is crazy. I don’t really even watch the games like I used to. It’s just too much. I do enjoy the banter here though. Good luck pal.

If it’s not gambling it’s will be something else, man you are locked into your own little world of a giant rush of placing a bet, you are numb to losing so it no longer effects you. As long as you have spare money you will deposit it hoping for that run you had years ago to thousands of dollars. Of your escaping life thru gambling you will escape it threw something else if you stop. You have a addictive personality that is your problem. You need to find something outside of yourself that keeps you believing all the bull shit we deal with is life and not to run from it gl bro

Well yeah that’s the solution if he only bets the winners then there would be no problem. Why didn’t I think of that. I’ve been doing this all wrong.

So now that I’m on the right track, where do I find the “winners”. Are they marked specially on the betting sites? Do they have a asterisk next to them?

No. I don’t know if your trying to be funny because it’s not.

If your quitting there can’t be any attempts at betting for money or just for fun.

    The temptation is too great.

Well done so far. I'm not sure the urges will ever stop. You probably won't think about it at all some days but others you might have strong urges. Either quit cold turkey and never look back or learn to manage and live with it and that comes with time and experience. Even if you take a long break to clear your head, you might come back with a new mindset and strategy(maybe bet lower and more for fun). Godspeed.

    11 days no gambling?

    Sounds like a nightmare.

Run up to the gas station and buy some scratch offs. That will get the juices flowing!

Then drive to the Indian casino and play high stakes 2 deck blackjack.

Max out all your ************ at the casino on cash advances. Get a room. Meet a hooker. Get laid.

Continue to pump the video poker machines full of cash, play games with huge payouts like double double bonus poker.

Have steak and lobster for dinner in your hotel room with a prostitute blowing you.

Keep pumping the poker machines. Keep playing blackjack.

Get a Title Loan on your car. Call up some sharks get a high interest street loan.

After the ball drops tonight buy some blow, stay up all night. Only use the hotel room for sex.

Win or lose it will be the best New Year's Eve of your life.
