Eagles offensive line is beat up and got destroyed by the Cowboys last week. That isn't a matter of luck. If DeSean Jackson has a huge day the Eagles could steal a win, but in general Dallas is a bad match up for them.

    Probably a no play.

Philly +4 early lean, if any.

    Dallas wins by 3-4.

Philly relies to much on big plays, hints why Desean Jackson is such a good fit for 'em. Cowboys are a down and dirty grind it team. Tough defense w/ good strong running backs.

    Dallas stops the big plays.

Thats why they beat both the Saints and Philly.

Die hard Eagles fan here. This comes down to whether or not Fat Boy Reid is willing to commit somewhat to running the ball. The patchwork o-line would do better I think in run blocking that having to drop back 70% of the plays in pass protection. First match-up between the two that was a four point loss points to this as the Eagles had some balance, they had 30 pass attempts and 22 rushes. Their rushes went for over 4 yards per carry from McCoy and Weaver. If they fail to use Westbrook and McCoy and Weaver as weapons, they have no shot. Jackson is banged up and has just one good game against Dallas in 4 tries. Running would also be the best tonic to keeping the Cowboys offense off the field as the Eagles D is definitely their weaker unit. I think if they can get even a 60-40 split on pass/run and have some success running - then the Eagles can cover and win outright. If they pass to much, they be doomed.

Since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970, there have been 19 times when a team went into a playoff game with a chance to complete a three-game season sweep, according to STATS, Inc. Those teams are 12-7. Here are the previous matchups, with the team that won both regular-season games listed first, along with the postseason result:

    Season Teams Result
1982 Miami Dolphins vs. New York Jets Won
1983 Seattle Seahawks vs. Los Angeles Raiders Lost
1986 New York Giants vs. Washington Redskins Won
1989 Houston Oilers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Lost
1991 Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Raiders Won
1992 Kansas City Chiefs vs. San Diego Chargers Lost
1993 Los Angeles Raiders vs. Denver Broncos Won
1994 Minnesota Vikings vs. Chicago Bears Lost
1994 Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Won
1997 New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins Won
1997 Green Bay Packers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers Won
1998 Dallas Cowboys vs. Arizona Cardinals Lost
1999 Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars Won
2000 New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Won
2002 Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Cleveland Browns Won
2004 St. Louis Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Won
2004 Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings Lost
2007 Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants Lost
    2008 Steelers vs. Ravens won
I dont see the Cowboys winning but I do think the eagles win by 3 in the last min I didnt see the Steelers Ravens at the end I was going to say you forgot one lol

These are different teams. Philly is outmatched in every phase of the game.

Yeah, well Staubach, Dorsett, Landry are long gone...

Cowboys HAVE NEVER WON a playoff game in 13 years

Romo HAS NEVER WON a playoff game

Phillips HAS NEVER WON a playoff game

Eagles under Reid HAVE NEVER lost a first round playoff game.

So, you thought my statement was stupid, yet make 5 more just like it. lmao

BTW: It was Aikman, E.Smith, Irvin that did the most damage to the Eagles, not Landry.

I agree it will be a different game than last week and a lot closer.

I just can't get my head around the Eagles being able to outscore the Cowboys. They have shown nothing to support it, and when it comes to where I put my money, I will take the better team every time instead of hunches and rhetoric about beating a team three times.

Eagles offense v. Cowboys defense = advantage Dallas

Dallas offense v. Eagles defense = advantage Dallas

Special teams = advantage Eagles (better kicker and returner)

Philly would have to win the turnover battle AND have a defense/special teams score to win here. It's possible but not likely. Romo has thrown 6 picks since week 2 (3 int v. Giants) - that's 6 in 15 games, never more than one in a game, and 3 of them being tipped balls.

Dallas is playing so confident and aggressive on both sides of the ball and are so ready to shed the image of being chokers - which is unfounded anyway, this team is 0-2 in playoffs with one being a dropped snap at the 4 yd line by Romo and the other loss to the Giants who went on to beat New England in the Super Bowl - that I cannot see them losing this game.

This is also Philly's second road trip in 6 days.

Dallas takes it 27-17 and will be tough to beat anywhere from here on out.

Yes, you're right. Dallas hasn't won a playoff game in 13 years (and this group has never won one) but they underprepared and looked past the Eagles this week. Dallas has already marked this one down as a win and are prepping for Minnesota.

Dallas is hungry... Team record over 6000 yards this year, have been beating down old curses like winning in december... D holding strong 37 points in last 4 games.. have eagles covered in avg. running, passing and total yards, as well as total yards allowed and running yards.. all the eagles have is the pass, and dallas is ready! Im going with D-Town!!
