means nothing, taking a 3-13 team as a rookie to a 13-3 record the next year was unheard of...like usual, even in his first ever playoff game the Colts ended up playing a team who ended up going to the SUPER BOWL. Next year in 2000 they lost to the Dolphins on the road because of the kicker shanking a game winner after Peyton drove them into FG range. The 2002 team was the first under after a failed 2001 season (PLAYOFFS??? PLAYOFFS???) & under Dungy they were a team developing a new style on offense and defense and can't remember if they were a surprise wild card team or not.

Same for Matt Ryan.... was he expected to win a playoff game as a rookie? Next 2 times they have made it and lost they lost to the eventual SB Champion, team lost as a team in all phases of the game.

It means Ryan's adversity can be overcome. I think you are in agreement? It's hard to understand your points.

Yeah, I'm saying his first 3 playoff games mean nothing as to what will happen the rest of his career in postseason play.

So not being able to win even one playoff game in 3 years is somehow not indicative that he is a proven choke artist?

Do you still consider Peyton a choke artist?

You said not winning a playoff game in 3 tries means he's a choker. Is there an exemption for Mannings?

Well yesterday he said the Seahawks have the best run defense and the best pass defense in the league so I can't see how he can be wrong in his new statement.

Manning's first year, the Colts went 3-13. Ryan has never been on a losing Falcons team. Basically, your argument is that Matt Ryan projects to be Peyton Manning because of similar career paths.

In the playoffs. Actually they are ranked #2 right behind Houston, but that will change this weekend.

Off course it will change. Seahawks won't be in the playoffs after this week.

No. Seahawks will be #1 after they shut down Atlanta and the Ravens get buried by Denver.

EDIT: Meant to say after the Texans get buried by New England not the Ravens and Denver.

So, if a QB goes 3-13 in their first year, they are excused for 3 straight playoff losses?

No, but don't try to say that Matt Ryan will become Peyton Manning because they both started out with 3 playoff losses either.

You're the one that is talking about 3 playoff losses. To me, it's old news. I'm amused someone is still fixated on that.

I only brought it up because posters are trying to say Ryan is the same as Manning. No, he's not. What happens if he loses this weekend and now he's suddenly 0-4 in the playoffs? You think people will still talk about him becoming Manning?

Hell no. They're going to say he's a choke and can't win when it matters most and most likely there will also be a coaching controversy in Atlanta.

But if he wins on Sunday and proceeds to win the Superbowl this year he will have won a Supebowl sooner than Manning.

If Ryan chokes, then I'll call him a choker. He hasn't lost yet. The game isn't until noon on Sunday.

West coast teams generally do not fare well in 1pm East coast games. SEA has to wake up at what would be 7am their normal PST time. I would guess that a good number of players sleep in longer than that, especially on game days. That equates to their bodies having to adjust, how long will that take? 2, 3 quarters?

With that in mind it will be really tough going for SEA to go up there and beat ATL in ATL. If they win the TO battle anything could happen cause their defense can take the ball away. Either way I hope it is a good game.

like samdapatriotsfan said, seattle has won 1 game on the east coast with an early start time in 5 years. they lost to the vaunted miami dolphins earlier in the season and let tannehil play backyard ball against these corners

They also lost all their games in a dome this year which means dome noise affects their game.

those 2 loses against division opponents were b4 Russel Wilson emerged And against decent defences..the team changed after the Miami Loss after our bye week..we never looked back team chemistry team attitude a tale of two halves this season. were a significantly better team after Miami loss not to mention NFC WEST stronger division than NFC SOUTH.
