It seems 44 HR is not so much for someone some say is on roids

I would think roids would make Cabrera a 60 HR hitter easily

    I cannot win this argument

Therefore, I will not revisit this thread

If no records have been stripped from Bonds, Big Mac, Canseco, and Caminiti, then Miggy is safe as a bug on a rug.

Miggy should be MVP after getting triple crown for sure. Way harder individual feat than a perfect game, hitting for cycle, etc. and one of the hardest individual goals one can get in bases aside from maybe hitting .400. Aside from that his team is in the playoffs largely due to his efforts no doubt.

The steroid era kept at least ARod, Bonds, Pujols, Albert Belle, Eric Davis and Jeff Bagwell from winning the triple crown too. A fat guy like Cabrera was the best candidate to do it with a level playing field. Pujols has had the same stats or better during a season and wasn't close to winning a triple crown.

    a lot of Cabrera haters

love how the gamblers on a gambling forum take the moral high ground
oh yeah, you gamblers are one to talk about drinking too much alcohol
you guys are fake human beings

give the guy a little credit, he's been robbed of the MVP in 2010 by the crackhead when he had better stats

Don't hate the guy, I would have given him my MVP vote if I had one, I still say Trout is the more complete player, and if Joey Bats had a full season, would we be having this conversation today? Bautista had 27 bombs and missed half the season, and he did hit 43 last year and 54 the year before that.

Know this, Bautista would have another 50 homer plus season again this year too.

Cabby hit 28 of his 44 at CoPa which is one of the deepest parks in the league. Imagine him playing in Texas or NY the entire year.

    1) Nice lecture to the forum on taking the moral high ground, then label Josh Hamilton a 'crackhead' in your next breath.

    2) Miggy is so much easier to root for than Josh, I dislike Josh, I kind of like Miggy, still think Trout is the better all around player.
I don't do chemicals, I can't relate to Hamilton, I do like bourbon and beer, I can relate to Miggy, I don't slam him for that.

    3) In 2010 Josh did not rob Miggy of anything, he has no MVP vote, if you think Miggy got robbed, blame the 28 baseball writers that have a vote. Actually blame the 22 baseball writers that voted for Hamilton for MVP, Cabrera got six first place votes. Also, the six that did vote for Miggy for MVP in 2010, all write for papers in AL central cities.

    4) Cabrera had some better stats that season then Hamilton, Cabrera had more homers than Josh, Bautista had more homers than the rest of them, Cabrera had more RBI than Hamilton, he also played in 17 more games. Hamilton led the league in average .359, led the league in slugging .633, led the league in OPS, and Hamilton led the league in hitting with runners in scoring position.(.369)
Besides RBI, Miggy led the league in OBA barely, .420 to .411 Hamilton was second.
Did Miggy really have better stats than Hamilton?

Steroids and Baseball are so overrated. Guys that played the game know what I'm talking about. Would you say the "Roided" Bonds was a stronger physical specimen then Cabrera right now? No. It's not like Bonds looked like your typical NFL player.

I tend to agree with Nash. He's usually right on about most issued or we have a similar opinion. How can you not give Cabrera the MVP after winning the triple crown??? However, I think Trout is a better all around player... By far.

good work Steve, you're doing your homework

crackhead reference extends to his delicate diva like playing
earlier this year, Nolan Ryan criticized him for giving away at bats,
yesterday he opened the flood gates on a routine fly ball,
team can't celebrate winning w/ champagne, they gotta have Sprite or he relapses

that's why I call him the crackhead-he's phony as hell-a diva

Trust me Darrell, I dislike him a lot.
    I hope I didn't come across harsh.
Josh did miss those games due to rib injury in 2010, but still, the guy can't get in front of his demons, I got a problem with that.

I'm not gonna argue Griffey had a pretty swing. He had a homerun hitters swing like Ruth. Look at how balanced Bonds is when he swung, though. Never lunging, never late. Just a thing of beauty. Bonds has the most Intentional Walks and Walks in history. The year he broke the record it was ridiculous. It got to the point where a team would just refuse to throw him a strike because the knew he was gonna go yard. He was the most feared hitter of all time.
