I got this email as well and I believe it was from the morning the indictment was unsealed so it possible they weren't aware of the situation at that point... Still plenty of BS about the whole situation though...

So Bill do you believe:

A) Beted is retarded and had all their limited funds in one bank account?

B) Beted is scum and has much of the funds and is simply running off with them.

BetEd has been online about 7 years in the sportsbook and a lot longer in online casinos. They always had a good hold %. They were probably profitable for 6 of those years so no, I don't think they had all their funds with that processor or any other. Their debt to players is not huge. Not paying players is likely a business decision and the owner's decision not to sell cars or other assets. If you lend me $50 and I put it in my back pocket on the subway and it gets stolen, the money, mine, was stolen from me, not you.

Covers is running cover for them saying the doj has all their money. Meanwhile other books are not happy with them or Beted. They know this hurts the whole industry when players get stiffed and some of them have not had their calls about bailout offers returned. We now know of 2 sportsbooks that communicated directly with BetEd, offering to do a true bailout and 2 more were asking for the figures. The two were highly rated and didn't get their call backs.

We all have to hold our final opinion until we see if the "bailout" requires a deposit or has excessive terms. Unfortunately we learned today that they called at least one book about a bailout who they have nothing going with yet. Hopefully that's not a sign they are starting from scratch.

Two points to make:
- This is a big decision for the bailing-out party. It involves thousands of customers and large amounts of money. You can't rush this. We were told that they hoped to make an announcement today, but if it takes another day, so be it. It hasn't even been three weeks yet. I know it seems like light-years for you folks, but I'm ecstatic we are this close so soon.

- The other forums are lying. They had no deals in place. I know this for a fact. They have a couple of rejected offers from people who now have an axe to grind and therefore are claiming to have made fantastic offers when really they were lowballing the customers.

Iv'e emailed mgt. at Covers with the names of the sportsbooks in case they really don't know, but they havent asked us. It seems they have BetEd's ear and the other books can't get a call back so maybe they can help get the parties together. Value for the helping book is lower every day.

I don't know why he'd claim that either. It's an odd thing to claim. I don't even think he knows my email anyway, and I know he hasn't contacted anybody else on our team. I asked after reading that post.

Like I said, these are trying times for companies that target the American market and people are doing desperate things to get those betED players into their preferred operations where they can profit cheaply.

I will say one thing: If everybody really was looking out for the best outcome for the players, wouldn't it make sense to allow betED to negotiate their best deal possible with their preferred choice, rather than going around trying to subvert existing negotiations with rumors and innuendo? How does that help the players?

If anything, it just makes the negotiations drag on forever while putting the squeeze on betED to work with specific partners instead of somebody they trust and is offering the best deal.
