There are several companies, mostly based out of Asia, that act as 'brokers' between the player and some books.

Advantages are that they are happy to take banned players or banned countries and provide a sub-account from theirs for players to use. A broker also allows you to easily, quickly and fee free transfer funds between the books they offer.

Disadvantage is an extra third party, who are a bit like a law unto themselves at times, now has control of your money. And there have been a couple of troubling reports about balance confiscations. Not a lot but enough to make me very wary personally.
