Lots of reliance on jump shots with both teams shooting over 50% and very few FTs. If that continues, UNDER could be in order. FADE ME!

    PLAY #61: COLORADO/OREGON STATE OVER 125.5 (+100)
It's a team in Colorado that wants to push the tempo against a half-court set in Oregon State. What style wins? So far, Colorado has been able to push the tempo and score well, shooting over 51% from the floor. Oregon State has been stellar defensively, but they have not faced a quality offensive squad. Colorado may not be that team, but if they can push tempo and makes shots, the OVER will have a chance. OSU is only putting up 58 ppg, but the Buffs surrender nearly 69. Colorado has not been held below 70 this season, including games against Gonzaga & Arizona. Even though the Beavers figure to be stout defensively, the Buffs should be able to get into the 60s. If OSU can do the same, I like it. Fade away.

    PLAY #62: ST.JOHN'S/DUKE OVER 136 (-105)
The Blue Devils look to bounce back at home following their loss to Wisconsin during the week. At home, they have been untouchable this season and consistently put up solid offensive numbers. St.John's is a suprise unbeaten at this point, but this certainly is their biggest test. If Duke controls tempo and keeps the pace higher, they should push past this number with another performance in the 70s or better at home. St.John's has shot the ball well, but might struggle a tad on the road here. Still, if they can hit 60-65, Duke should do the rest.

    PLAY #63: NORTH TEXAS/RICE OVER 140.5 (-110)
UNT will look to push tempo and they have the better talent of these two. 5 of the Mean Green's 6 games have beaten this total. Rice showed it is not averse to up-tempo play against Harvard, giving up 84 against the Crimson in losing 84-65 last time out. Rice has yielded 227 points in their last 3 and UNT is certainly a capable scoring club. I think North Texas gets into the 70s here and Rice should score as well.

    PLAY #65: TULANE +9.5 (-113)
The Green Wave travel to take on Western Kentucky. The Hilltoppers have really struggled on offense, shooting under 40% from the floor. Tulane's defense has been solid, yielding just 64 ppg on 42% shooting. WKU has yet to beat any team by more than four points this season, while Tulane has won 3 of their last 5 with the two losses coming by 2 points or less. In what figures to be a bit of a struggle offensively, I think the game stays close and Tulane is in it to win it.

    PLAY #66: [2nd Half] SOUTH CAROLINA/CLEMSON UNDER 79.5 (-110)
Big reliance on jump shots in this one and both teams scuffling a bit, SC shooting 35% & Clemson around 41%. 32-29 Tigers lead. Only 12 FT attempts. If both remain content with jumpers, this will have a shot as it would mean less free throws. Both defenses need to stay locked in on the shooters.

    PLAY #67: OHIO/TULSA OVER 72 (-110)
Horrible shooting for Ohio, 31% and they're only down 5. Tulsa has just 18 FG attempts, making 11. They have 16 FT attempts which led to 10 points. If the game is being officiated tightly, FTs alone could be the decider for a potential OVER. Ohio will need to shoot better and Tulsa needs to take care of the ball better (10 turnovers). If it stays close, over always has a chance with the FT parade.

    PLAY #68: KANSAS/UCLA OVER 136 (-105)
KU should cold rooster the Bruins in this one. The Jayhawks are averaging over 91 ppg. Admittedly, that has come against lackluster competition. UCLA though does not have the squad to keep this KU team in-check. The Bruins are allowing almost 45% shooting from the floor, so look for the Jayhawks to score somewhere in the 70s. UCLA gave up 79 to Long Beach, 69 to Butler and 74 to Portland ... the big thing here is UCLA getting enough to complete the OVER. KU's D has been stifling, but I think if this does become a blowout, garbage time could lead this one well into the 140s.

    PLAY #69: [2nd Half] VILLANOVA/MARYLAND OVER 79 (-110)
'Nova is unconscious from 3, hitting 11 of 22. Taking a lot of shots, while Maryland is working the FT line with 9 of 11. They are shooting 11 of 25 from the floor, but 11 turnovers have hurt them. 49-38 Villanova lead. If the Wildcats rely slightly less on the 3-ball and work on getting it to the basket to draw fouls, that will help - but if they stay hot, they may get 100. Terps will have to score plenty to keep pace here. Maryland's last 3 2nd halves topped 80.

Wow. I really need to pay attention. My overall record is horrid, but on 2nd Half Plays: 12-7 (+4.20 units). Suppose maybe that is my strength for the time being. Until I get this thing floating consistently above .500, I am going to pick one game I like every day and then do 2nd halves ONLY for my other plays. Puke & Rally!

    PLAY #70: [2ND HALF] UMASS/PROVIDENCE OVER 78 (-115)
70 shots put up in the 1st half. UMASS as crooked as a bent arrow, 9 of 36 from the floor. PC hot at 53%. 19 FTs attempted, 13 by PC, only four made by the Friars. Tempo should remain up. PC has played in several blowouts and keeps pushing. UMASS must make shots and free throws will be huge.

    PLAY #71: [2nd Half] Morgan State/Minnesota UNDER 76 (-110)
Lots of jumpers here. They've fallen for the Gophers and not for Morgan State. State is 8 of 31, 3 of 12 from long range. Gophers usually continue to pour it on in 2nd halves of blowouts, but I'm not sure Morgan State is going to score enough to do their part to push this over. So long as jumpers are the point of force in the 2nd and FTs (13 attempts) remain scarce, this could sneak UNDER. Likely to be real close I think.

    PLAY #72: TEXAS TECH/TCU OVER 76 (-110)
Decent pace to this one, both teams shooting around 50%. Lots of FTs, 26 attempts. Tech needs to make more, just 4 of 11 from the line and they usually shoot about 76% from the FT line. TCU may cool a bit from the field, but if Tech keeps getting it inside and both teams stay aggressive and get to the line, OVER is a good shot I think here in a 41-36 TCU lead at the half.

    PLAY #72: [2nd Half] VANDERBILT/ILLINOIS UNDER 76.5 (-110)
A ridiculous last five minutes where 29 points were scored after 53 in the first 15. Illinois shooting a lights out 61%, Vandy solid at 44%. No FT attempts for Illinois. 8 for the Commodores. Expecting more fouls of course than that, but the defenses figure to tighten up a bit here as both have the capability. All these 2nd half totals I'm taking near 76, WTF. I'll dare them to shoot me out of a win here and they probably will with the way things are shaping up! Fade away.

Lots of jumpers here. 51 shots, just 40% shooting for ASU & 42% for BYU. 17 FT attempts. FTs made for the only real scoring spree in the last 5 minutes (19 points). Defense should again rule and as long as the jumpers stay the main course of action, UNDER has a shot.

    PLAY #75: WISCONSIN/WISC.-GREEN BAY OVER 132 (-105)
Play of the century. Yes! Seriously though, I dig it. UWGB is a high volume shooting squad, averaging almost 74 ppg on 45% shooting. Since a thud against UAB, they have scored 67 or more in 9 straight. Wisconsin is also solid shooting 46%.

    PLAY #76: NEW MEXICO/SAN DIEGO OVER 131 (-110)
New Mexico comes in with no less than 67 points in each of their 8 games with 75 or more in 7 straight. San Diego has had its problems offensively, shooting under 40% - however at home, they may be able to reverse that some. If the Toreros can break 60, I think the Lobos do the rest.

    PLAY #77: [1st Half] DEPAUL/MISSISSIPPI STATE OVER 57 (-110)
Earlier tip time here at 6:30pm ET. Trying a little more Pomeroy + my own feelings here. DePaul is averaging just under 60 possessions per game. Mississippi State averages 66.7. The Bulldogs are by far the more efficient offensive squad, tallying 1.18 points per possession, while DePaul is a respectable .995 points per possession. Both are stingy on defense, DePaul allowing .929 points per possession and MSU .945. Using that formula, the score range is closer to 128 points (70-58 MSU). The lines set for 1st halves appear to be set at about 46.5% of the total score. The line for the full game here is 123, first half at 57. With the calculated score of 128, the 1st half would be about 59.5. MSU has been good at imposing their tempo early in games with 6 of their 7 1st halves hitting better than this 57 point total, the only "under" at 55. Most of DePaul's 1st halves fall in the 55-60 range, so this might have a shot. Blue Demons are without their 2nd leading scorer & top rebounder, Mac Koshwal. That could give the Bulldogs' athletic frontline some extra opportunities. Taking the 1st half over the full game just 'cuz I'm a moron.

    PLAY #78: NORTHEASTERN/RHODE ISLAND OVER 136 (-105)
Northeastern already showed they'll go toe-to-toe against an up-tempo club with average defense, they lost 76-72 to Providence. Rhode Island is solid on offense, shooting 48% and the Huskies aren't quite the stalwart people might think, allowing almost 45% shooting from the floor. Last year's game between the two ended 85-72 Rhode Island with several of the players on this year's squads involved in prominent roles.
