Allin1, to check and make sure your lineups are good Rotoinfo.com has that info. For pitcher vs batter info i use the App on my I Phone. Bill James Daily Matchups. This might be one of the greatest apps for fantasy baseball players. It will give you how a pitcher has done against that team of players in the past. It also tells you how hot a hitter is. It truley is a great app for fantasy baseball addicts. I like to also check MLB.com and I usually use the last 7 days when looking at hitters.

I am big on that, how a guy has done against a pitcher. I played baseball for a long long time and I always had certain pitchers I was able to pick up the ball much better than others on. Example of this last night. Mike Moustakas the third basemen from KC was hitting .087 his last 6 games going into last night. I took the gamble on him only because he was a career .800 hitter against Ricky Romero from Toronto. Well if you saw the Highlights Moustakas had a huge night. Now usually I would take him due to him being so cold , but his price was right and hitting .800 against a guy is no joke.

Hope this is able to help you buddy. Ill be back later after I do some research and throw out some guys who I like tonight.

hydrosmak, To be honest with you it is probably the best two bucks I have ever spent. The information that you get from it is unreal. It saves so much time, rather trying to find that info on the net. I would highly recommend it for any one that likes to play fantasy baseball.

The funny thing is I don't really care to pay for apps either but my wife bought me an Ipod a few years back and I still had a credit from the gift card she got me with it so when I got my Iphone I used that. If I would not have had that credit I probably would have never bought it. Thank god for my wife. I knew there was a reason why I married her...

Guys this is what I am talking about. Ian Desmond from Washington is hitting .440 his last 6 games with a slugging percentage of .960. He will face Tim Lincecum today whom he is hitting .778 (7-9) in his career against. Desmond is hot right now and he is facing a guy he has alot of success against. He be in my lineup today.

Man Miguel Cabrera could be in for a field day today. Cabrera faces Nick Blackburn who has a 7.74 ERA this season. Blackburn has not gotten past 6 innings pitched in a game this season. Cabrera has outstanding numbers against Blackburn, hitting .452 (14-31) and Cabrera has been hot as of late with his .480 batting average over the last 6 games. The only downside will be Cabrera's pricetag in the daily leagues, just have to find a few guys who are cheap and have nice matchups today in other positions.

Oh yeah, Cano has been hot also with his .414 average the last 7 games in which he has 12 hits, 3 homeruns and 8 RBI's. With how bad this Nick Blackburn has been this year I would probably take my 4 year old son up against him and my son has a beautiful lefty swing that I have been working with him on since he was 2.5. Austin Jackson should have a nice night also. As much as I like those guys I am a big believer in pitching is huge for fantasy baseball so I have to step back and find some guys who will get me points with a bit lower prices thanks to the amount I am paying for Ivan Nova tonight. The Yanks are 6-0 with Nova on the mound against TB. He has faced TB twice this season and has a 1.80 ERA with an average of 6.5 K's per game against the Rays this season.

I was looking at Nova and Zimmerman too for today for some setups but tg
hey are expensive. Nova is probably worth it, he could make 20p at fanduel today but if I put all these guys together I don't know how I will complete the lineup. I am not used to such imbalanced lineups but I guess this is the time to learn how to do it.

    allin1,

Now looking at those guys you threw out to me they do have nice numbers against the guys they are facing tonight. Now you want to take a look and see what ones are the hottest right now, Hence why I threw Cabrera and Desmond out there are already. Since I went the route today on Fanduel and spent the money on Nova I really had to struggle to find some guys to fill other postions at reasonable prices. Desmond and Cabrera are in my lineup tonight. Those guys are just too hot and and have outstanding career numbers against the opposition today. Now at second base the Padres have a guy named Alexi Amarista who is on fire right now. This guy is hitting .476 with a 1.143 slugging percentage his last 7 games. He has 6 runs scored, 10 hits, 4 homeruns and 11 RBI's. As much as I like Cano tonight this guy has been just as hot and priced lower than Cano. I had to take that route.

Everyone has different views on how they go about setting their lineup. If you can find yourself a pitcher that you feel will get you great numbers and is not priced very high then jump on it and stack the lineup with some of those hot hitters that have great matchups.

I have Freeman in one of my contests while over at fanduel I think I put in Chris Carter from Oakland. Priced reasonable and he has been hot in two games since being called up. It's a gamble but hey thats what this is, got to take risk sometimes. Prado is another guy I put in my lineup.

One guy that may be a steal tonight is Joe Kelly pitcher from the Cardinals. He is pitching just his 5th career game so he is priced very low. His counter part will be Jeff Francis from Colorado who has not looked all that impressive thus far. Cards are hitting the ball well right now so they should be able to give him some run support. Hey if he can go 6 innings get 3 to 5 strikeouts and is able to grab you the win could be a nice option.

Looked at Kelly but he pitches against Cardinals and those guys usually score. I was looking at Nava, Zimmerman, Chen and for a setup with a cheap pitcher I was actually looking at Duane Bellow.

How did you find these guys that are on a recent good run like Amarista or Chris Carter? Interesting picks.

I do alot of research on this fantasy stuff. I use to be real big into betting games but once Betjam and Beted closed those doors to US residents i got more into the fantasy side of things. Everyday I always use MLB.com and when I go to stats I will click on last 7. I also go and use the dropdown for each team to find out how a team in whole is hitting. If you like a power hitter to put on your team always want to make sure you check out if guys are getting on base in front of them for RBI's (those are points for me)...

Last night I was watching MLB network and they kept going from game to game and showing live action. When they went to the Padres game Amrista was up hitting a homerun. You should see this guy. He is 5 foot 7 looks he looks so tiny on the field. Swings a nice stick though.

For rbi I only look at the main stats but I don't know exactly how to check if the guys in front are getting on base. Are general stats enough to get the big picture or do you look at more sophisticated stats?

allin1, MLB.com will give you everything you need. If you do the stats search just on a certain team you will get every players stats on that team. Then click on the last 7 for them. It will give you breakdown on the last 7 games for those guys. You will be able to see batting avg, hits, OBP, Slugging %, SB, HR all that info.

What I am going to do is put the Excel document I use on here for you guys to see what I use or Ill PM you and send you the Doc so you can get a betteer read on it. Probably wont be tomorrow I will be busy with the Holiday. Don't even know if I will play any contests tomorrow. On that Doc I only put players that are hitting above .300 against the pitcher they are facing that night. On the doc it will have their name, position, Avg against that pitcher, hits and the tempeture they are. I usually like to look at guys who are above 75 for temp. Sometimes I have to find players who are hot and have very liittle experiance against a pitcher. Example: today I took Justin Rugganio from Miami. He was hot as of late but he doesnt have any experiance against the guy he was facing today. Well 2-4 with a Double, HR, 1 RBI, 2 Runs and a Walk.

I see Ian Desmond continues to rock Lincecum. Has a homerun already against him tonight.

pierzynski, corey hart and reyes did ok. nova didn't do much better then much cheaper kelly. cano and cabrera were a waste of money too, but maybe they will get it next time.

allin1, With those scores you had last night you could have cashed in some leagues at Fanduel. My pitching killed me ast night but I was still able to cash in on some 50/50 leagues at fanduel. i think I ended with 38.75 points and I cashed. The pitching killed me I was expecting 45-50 total but with Nova giving up some runs and not getting the win it kept me from my goal. I usually play some 50/50 games on fanduel. The way I look at it is as long as I cash it is still a succesful night. I am not one that trys and cash in those big tournaments where there is like 1000 players. I just stick to my 50/50's.

I find it amazing. Detroit scores 6 runs gets 10 hits and Miguel Cabrera has nothing to do with any of it. Wow shocked me on that one last night.

Hope that info I posted above is able to help you guys. Gonna start looking at building my team for today.

I don't care for the GPPs either. Double or nothings or heads up are what I always do. Nice app, might have to check it out if I get into baseball. Anyone know of any other good apps for fantasy?

Rudy, I'm not too sure about other apps. I do use rotoinfo.com for lineups and they have some articles on there. Alright guys I am going to go start throwing some cold ones down now. Enjoy your fourth and Ill be back tomorrow with my hangover. Good Luck everyone.

I went cheap today with pitching. Chris Young from the Mets. This Philly team is hitting just .194 against him.

I went with Griffin in a setup. Very cheap pitcher that might get a win and few hits/runs as the red sox have not done too good against the As lately. I alto took C Young in my other setup.

    Have a good one everyone!

Guys I have no problem putting up what I get for numbers for
The bill James app to give y'all some info to help u out. I use the spreadsheet everyday so I'll post to help give y'all so info for the contests u play in. As long as u guys are not matched up against me we are good . Lol three best things I use are MLB.com, rotoinfo.com and the bill james app also look at sportsbettingstats.com also at times for pitching.

Bad day at the office. Below 20 even though I picked hot guys with big avg against the pitcher...

here is an interesting head to head situation: just the 3 early games min@det, tex@cws, mia@mil

I was thinking of taking michael fiers as pitcher as he looks to be in good form and he is cheap

the mia pitcher has let 6 HR against mil in the past but is in hot form recently so I don't know if I should look at any brewers. only 3 batters have avg against him above .300 but braun and hart with only 3 ab while gomez with .381, 21 ab, 8 h, 2 2b, 1 3b, 2hr, 6 rbi, 6 so against him.

det pitcher is in hot recent form but has a weak record against min with 4 guys having big avg against him:
    of revere .375,
    SS carroll .400,
    2b casilla .333,
    of span .346

texas might do good against the cws pitcher so obviously I want to take some rangers even though the good/hot ones are expensive

what do you guys think? any twins or brewers worth taking or would you rather go for more rangers?
