I was about to post article that said same thing, talking about woodley and dana's comments. Woodley's excuse is hilarious.

It was something like "I know our fans want to see blood and back and forth exchanges but people have to understand I'm fight specialists."

By that logic maia should have just laid on his back as soon as fight started since woodley is specialist when it comes to striking.

That's exactly why Dana is fuming.. Every fighter has their strengths but no fighter just defends take downs are runs like that. It's a title fight and you are expected to see a fight. Not someone complete get on the horse and run.. That fight broke the record for the least amount of Strikes in a title fight and it wasn't even close.. It was a joke.. Fans boo'd Woodley out of the arena after that fight.

Anderson Silva did that against Maia in a title fight and Dana almost fired him.. You'd think Woodley saw that fight and the heat the Spider took..

Dana has made it clear that he doesn't want to see those types of fights and either do the fans especially in a title fight.. Should suspend fighters when they do that for a year.. Hurts the cards and disappoints the fans that pay big money for the PPV..

I chickened out on the Jones VS DC fight, and only ended up betting on two fights. I was going to bet on DC and over 4.5 rounds, I would have lost on both bets! I am new to gambling, so not wanting to go wild out of the gate.

Woodley vs GSP would be an interesting fight if GSP fought like the old GSP.. He's a wrestling based fighter and Woodley is almost impossible to take down.. Dana pulled the plug on that though..
I think this was less about Woodley being boring and more about GSP wanting to avoid a bad stylistic matchup. The fact that Woodley had another boring fight gives Dana an excuse to re-book GSP/Bisping.

For being out so many years I think it's a bad idea for GSP to fight any of the top 3 fighters in his first fight back.. Talk about ring rust.. GSP should have a tune up fight like Jon Jones did against OSP..

Bisping would be a tune up fight though in a sense for GSP. Woodley tough match up for GSP... Woodley probably will come out swinging in his next fight for sure after taking a verbal bashing like this.. No way he goes out in the next fight and puts up another cautious boring fight..

Fix this Woodley problem... make title fights unlimited 5 minute rounds. No decisions. Eh?

bisping vs gsp is a toss up fight
bisping hardly ever gets layed and prayed and GSP coming off another ACL injury his burst for his double legs could be less then before..... if bisping is + money ill be all over him imo

and woodley will keep fighting the same probably, him vs lawler literally does nothing for me as a fan.... terrible matchmaking if that fight is announced .... 170 has a ton of contenders but theyre not trying to build anybody up it seems

Fans would walk out on that fight by the 10th round, I'd be asleep, Dana White would lose it... UFC would fold over night.. ...

i kinda think Bisping would win with crisper boxing but it is close. Could u imagine a guy Bisping who really is underrated because nobody likes him, beats GSP and has that name now in the win column. Bisping is catching these guys at the right time in their careers. Bisping could go down as the greatest fighter in history (on paper)with wins over GSP, Henderson, and Silva lol.

If the fight happens and if GSP is anything like his old self Bisping gets creamed, grounded and beat on.. If GSP lost some explosiveness or has major ring rust, or just lost the eye of tiger so to speak then Bisping could win.. GSP has been out a very long time so we just won't know what GSP version will show up????

My take anyways.. GSP in his prime is so much better then Bisping in his prime.. GSP had the best MMA wrestling on the planet back in the day.. His doubles were insane, his top control was dominate, his boxing was good enough to set up the take downs..

Coming back after 4 years and fighting bisping, given GSP's normal fight style, is a tough match. They both fight for points and bisping is a good striker with good tdd. I'd almost rather see GSP fight someone else so we can see where he is at before the bisping match. One thing for sure is it's going to sell a lot of ppvs but be a largely boring fight. Just a big jab fest and both are very good, technical strikers so probably going to be very boring to watch.

Given bisping's age and the fact he must know he got lucky against rockhold, he should just go all out and put pressure on GSP in round 1, boom or bust. The best to time to finish him will be round 1 after not fighting for 4 years, and if you get finished in return who cares? You're almost 40 anyways and all the fans will appreciate you.

if the GSP that fought hendricks comes in theres a very good chance he loses .... i highly doubt hes improved in the time off especially since he had an injury during that layoff.... plus hes not the biggest 170er , while bisping fought at 205 before.. i hope to get bisping at + odds

Nice GIF, Jibby. GSP fakes the jab, Alves tried to slip it and then GSP powers through for a hard double leg.

Gsp is my favorite fighter ever and I have made the most money betting him than any fighter. He's going to destroy bispinh. Early odds have him around -150. Bispinh face is like dead. He's dead in all his fights and I see gsp taking him down every single round. Bispinh takedown defense has never been that good. Gsp looks in great shape from his training. Bisping is so injured from Silva and Dan Hendo. Gsp will win if it's a decision. Do not see bisping any chance at knockout since he will be on his back the whole fight. Not going to stop arguably the best takedown artist ever. I can't wait to win money on gsp.

Everyone is supposed to destroy Bisping and than u notice Bisping is still in the fight. I believe Luke was supposed to destroy him also. GSP hasn't finished a guy in 15 years and now he is gonna destroy a guy much bigger who is pretty tough to keep down whiccch is basically GSP game

I remember when Bisping fought Rashad who was on the top of his game. I went large on Rasheed and hit the bet and was shitting my pants cause the fight was way closer than i thought it would be. I even thought if Bisping got the win u couldn't say Rashad was robbed.

You can't compare luke Rockhold to gsp when they are not alike at all. Rockhold takedowns are not even half as good as gsp. Hmmm how many times has gsp lost in 15 years using his strategy? Just because you don't finish someone doesn't mean you are not good at fighting. Bisping is not tough to keep down. When gsp gets you down it's tough to get up. I would put money on gsp keeping bisping down over bisping getting back up all day. Bad matchup for bisping and the line reflects that.

True but GSP is a unanimous decision machine when he was fighting.. No way Bisping can win rounds fighting off his back.. Bisping is old and has been getting by fighting aged fighters.. Got in the lucky punch on Luke Rockhold when the he was cold and fight first started.. Bisping isn't gonna be keeping that UFC title belt for very much longer no matter who he fights IMO..

I never compared Luke with GSP. I just said everyone expected Luke to destroy Bisping. As for GSP the last guy he destroyed was probably Matt Serra back in 69. You said GSP will destroy Bisping.

We have different definitions of destroy. If someone wins every round from using what they are good at in my book that's destroying

i bet GSP against hendricks one of my biggest bets when i first started betting MMA ... i was blessed that night with the win lol
ive followed GSP his entire career since hes canadian and our biggest star, hes slowly fallen off year by year, his ACL injuries 100% have effected his wrestling imo... against the bigger fighter its gonna be tough keeping Bisping down , watch Bispings previous fights hes fought a ton of solid wrestlers , the Chael Sonnen fight showed a lot.... Plus that extra weight could hurt GSPS cardio a bit and the long lay off, Bisping can do 5 rounds hard always.... Id personally like GSP to win but its a toss up fight at best with all the question marks coming in from GSP ... a prime GSP vs Bisping thats George all day and night but this isnt a prime GSP at all, id still hedge with GSP submission just in case for value sake prob but ill be going Bisping especially at +120 love that price tag
