Dodson won that tbh pretty clear win for me...

Lineker with the granite chin may be the best in mma right now, and those flurries are a beast but Dodson landed over 70% of his shots and was lighting him up with quick straights the entire fight, I'd give lineker 2 rounds max surprised with the decision but that's mma for ya glad I only bet Nate Marquardt tonight

wonder who they'll give these guys next if they do Cruz/ tj rematch which should 100% happen , I wanna see lineker / garbrandt was bookend before then maybe Dodson/jimmy Rivera if he's healthy

Plus at the end of the fight lineker looked like he knew he was heat.... following someone around the ring isn't walking someone down

Dodson lands more significant strikes and gets more takedowns and still loses what a shitfest. Refs penetrating retarded and were admiring all of linekers misses. Who cares if lineker pressed more when he missed everything. I hate refs. Hopefully when bisping lands more strikes against dan henderson he gets the win saturday. Fuckthis shit. I bet nasically the amount of a honda civic on dodson and this bullshit happens. Also lose on utah utes when they had the ball at 1 yard from the win. Garbage weekend.

Im sorry but Dodson just got robbed. Dude landed more Sig strikes. Was more efficient. He landed 70% of his strikes. Since when are you supposed to be rewarded for just swinging wild punches and missing? Total joke

Had a 500 dollar day profit.

I had 84 on this rigged fight to win 63..

Had this been judged correctly I would be up 647 rather than 500... when your grinding to build bankroll that's a big deal.

I can accept losses when I lose, but WTF

I watched the main event and had money on Dodson but you know he was running all fight like a little girl.. JL was walking him down all fight... I've seen other fights where fighters are running and trying to out point and get the decision win, I hate it every time.. I always like the guys that bring it period.. If I was judging I'd give it to the aggressor every time, I'd give that fight tonight to JL too.

I like JL as he does bring it in every fight and will bang straight up with anyone and probably come out on top... Won't fade him again in the future just because he is as tough as nails, hits hard, can defend TD's and has a granite chin... That's a strong combination for any top fighter even if he's a step slower..

Just my take on the main event.

    - After a close split decision loss to John Lineker in the UFC Fight Night 96 main event, John Dodson discusses the tight decision, why he believes he should have won the fight on the cards and what is next for him.

    - After UFC Fight Night 96, John Lineker reflected on his split decision win over John Dodson, Dodson's belief that Lineker lost because his face was more damaged, how close he is to a title shot and the effect missing weight had on that, plus much more.

I highty disagree , the difference between running and counter fighting is extremely different, nobody with a smart gameplan would stand toe to toe with lineker when he has that kinda power and chin 90% of the time you'll lose, I though Dodson had a great gameplan using his footwork and speed, I had no dog in the fight so I watched with a clear mind and it was a pretty obvious Dodson win imo... Landed more significant shots and he landed at over 70% , the shots didn't look as damaging because linekers chin is made of some sort of granite material but he was doing damage you could tell by his eye at the end of the fight... His backwards movement may not look the greatest to casuals but that "running" made lineker miss 70% of his shots... If you land 70% of your shots, land more significant blows and make your opponent miss 70% of there shots that just says it all really.... Lineker makes every fight look super close due to his super aggressive nature but bein aggressive isn't everything , I think dodging punches and landing quick shots is more impressive then just running forward throwing haymakers imo...lineker won't get Cruz next because he misses weight most likely but if he does Cruz would literally eat him alive with his movement and everybody will be saying the same thing about "running" it's getting extreme to old tbh...people saying mcgregor "ran" from Diaz... No if you're fighting a pressure fighter it's called being intelligent and counter fighting / saving your gas tank just my 2 cents I actually like lineker more , Dodson is kind of an odd cat and I wanna see lineker matched up with the Cruz , dillashaw, garbrandts for excitement value but this reminds me a lot of how Leonard Garcia used to Eek out suspect decisions by winging shots and being super aggressive people put far to much stock into that , lineker had his moments but it's a 25 minute fight , he had like 5 minutes of winning / good moments to me, ill rewatch again today but from my eyes that's what I seen ln ...

I felt the same. Nakamura clearly won round 1 but rounds 2 and 3 were close. Surprised that ALL three judges gave BOTH rounds to Dos Santos but that's how it is some times.

    Thoughts on the night:
Ended up grinding out a TINY profit of .9125u on this event but I'm actually pretty psyched with that considering I was -18.25u after fight #7. Big wins were Moreno Submission + Round 1, Da Silva + Round 2, Lineker + Decision, and Marquardt + KO. Big losses were Nakamura and Faszholz. Lot of strange results tonight with 8 of 12 bouts being won by underdogs. From what I saw on social media no one seemed to do too well tonight. Live betting got me a few units of profit and I cashed my Double Up lineup for Draftkings. Hit props of (+2285) and (+2000) as well as a prop parlay of (+1940). Overall, not a terrible night and I'm pumped for UFC 204 next weekend.

He won every round in that fight last night, well for sure rounds 1 and 2.. Round 3 was close.. I still can't get over what those judges were seeing.. DC called it for the Asian clearly as well.. He was cage side too..

I was shocked at that decision call... Pure crap!!!

Hit everything except what I wanted to hit.

Thinking a -240 has a better chance of hitting than a +252 is a mistake.

I wonder if I'm the only dummy that can go 4-2 on a card and still lose money.

I didn't like the decision either but interestingly enough almost all media outlets had it 29-28 for Santos.

Linekar Garbrandt would be insanity LOL...

This event set me back a good bit---just got crushed....Had a few miracle traps set (oli rd 3 +2000, Dodson rd 3 + Loss ) that possibly could have dug me out and they whiffed as well.....

It happens.. Last event set me back a bit, this event was a wash out pretty pretty much for me.. Lost maybe a couple hundred actually which is not a disaster..

Alot of unexpected upsets and fighters not performing up to their m.o's.. Judging robberies and what not... Well IMO anyways but I'm sure winners of both events will say the opposite.. Always subjective when winning and losing I suppose..
