You and me both; first time with the labby so taking it slow (plus I'm kind of an action junkie, so like to play other sports). Should be fun.

Alright guys, huge noob question but I must ask (and On3 I PMd you this question as well) if a team has a homestand that is more than one series in length would we play only that one series or the second series as well? For example if Baltimore has a homestand of 6 games, 3 against Boston and 3 against New York, would both Boston and New York be considered plays our only the first 3 games against Boston?

If anyone could help me out with this question I would very much appreciate it. Thanks

Take each series on it own merits; in a 6 game homestand (say two 3 game series), 1, none, or both series may qualify. Remember, game 1 of any series must meet the criteria to be a play. Criteria set in this link from post #3:
    covers.com/postingforum/post01/showmessage.aspx?spt=79&sub=101020098

In regards to highlighted portion of your post, only chase losses. You win game one, series is over. Overall record would be 1-0. See quoted section in post #141 above. System record stands at 2-0 because both game 1's were winners. Those series are done. If either had lost, you would have chased in game 2. If game 2 loses, then game 3. If game 3 loses, series is over, counts as a loss in system record, on to next qualifying series. Of course, adjust labby lines accordingly. Hope this helps.

I'm new to this also, so if any part of this is wrong, please feel free to correct me.

Thank you for the info, so just to confirm - it is possible that both series could qualify? The reason It confuses me so much is because the 2nd series would not be the first 3 games of the homestand, the homestand would be 3 games in by the time the second series starts. So a more accurate way to shape my question would have been: is it only the first games of the homestand that can qualify as a play or can a series that is already well in to a homestand qualify as well? Thanks for your help

It is not about the "home stand" it is about the 3 or 4 game series.

So then it is possible for there to be two or more qualifying series during the same homestand? For example Baltimore could have qualifying series plays against both Boston and then New York in the same homestand? This is really all I need to know; if series that qualify mid homestand are considered official plays?

Thanks for the help guys it is much appreciated, I can be easily confused sometimes

Okay, I can see from the Covers quote where you're getting confused. It's not the first game of a 3 game or longer home-stand, it's the first game of a series (at home, 3 games, no 2 game series) that determines whether it qualifies as a play or not. For example if a team is on a 10 game home-stand, say two 3 game series and one 4 game, each series counts as 1 individual play. As a series starts check criteria for game 1 to determine if it qualifies; if so it's a play, if not you pass and wait for next series. If the 4 gamer qualifies, you chase through game 3 only. Obviously, across the league it's possible to have more than one play going at a time. Just use the labby line that corresponds to that particular series (game 1, game 2, etc.). Hope this clears it up for you.

All three plays game 1 winners. Series done. No new series start until Monday. See post #92 for potential game 1's (season schedule).

Hope this isn't too dumb a question BUT:

For the filtered plays, are they a chase also? For example, game one of the series is home fave at -155 and o/u 9 is posted. If that game loses do we chase to the next game or is that it? Count the loss?

What if the line moves from o/u 9 to o/u 7?

Still new to baseball, looking for enlightenment
