This upset went under-the-radar because not too many delve into doubles. But this really ranks about as large as Nadal losing to Rosol in singles. The #1 team of Max Myrnyi & Daniel Nestor lost in straights to Julian Knowle & Daniele Bracciali. To put this in perspective, Myrnyi-Nestor had won four tournaments, including the French Open & Queens Club in their last two entries - beating the Bryans in both those tournaments. 39-9 on the season. Knowle had been partner swapping all year without a ton of luck, while Bracciali had also used several partners with a QF run @ Roland Garros with Starace. They face the Argentine pairing of Chela-Schwank who come in off a five set win over the 16th seeds, Sa-Soares. This is the 3rd straight year this Argie duo has teamed up at the All-England club. They made the semis in 2010 and lost in the 3rd round last year in three tie breaks.
I don't think doubles has the sort of drop off we see with singles where Rosol played the match of his life and then was not going to match it next round. Here, I think the hot team is where you go.
