I was hoping the same thing but that's just clearly not the case. I started my SBR formal complaint a week ago and have not heard one word from them. Bovada is being absolutely ridiculous with the worst customer service I have ever seen. I thought I was actually making some progress when they sent me this email.

    Hi,

Thanks for contacting Bovada Financial Services.

Sorry to hear that you do not have a passport that you are able to provide.

We understand it may be frustrating to be asked to send in documents after already having done so, however we were unable to verify the driver's licence you originally submitted.

The verification Team has been informed that you will be unable to provide a passport and they will be reaching out to you as quickly as possible to discuss alternatives.

We thank you for your continued patience and will be working hard to get an update for you as quickly as possible.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please let us know.

    Regards,

    Bovada Financial Services

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. Hope you are safe and well during the pandemic.

We understand your concern regarding your account and funds. Rest assured your funds are absolutely safe in your account.

For us to complete your verification, we kindly ask that you resend the requested document(s) as we were unable to validate your driver's license:

    - A copy of your government-issued Photo ID (such as a passport or any other Government issued Photo ID )

We will be able to provide further assistance, once we receive this.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please let us know.

    Regards,

    Bovada Financial Services
    financialservices@bovada.lv

I thought this was a good sign especially since they talk about how my funds are safe and do not mention any rule violations. Simply, a verification issue which they understand I do not have a passport so they are willing to discuss alternatives. I sent in many pics of my drivers license along with postmarked mail that was undeniably legit and easily verifiable. Now, after waiting another 2.5 days I receive the following as the most recent email.

    Hi,

Thanks for contacting Bovada Financial Services.

In order to update it, we would require a government-issued photo ID (such as a passport). Please submit this information in JPEG or PDF format to verification@bovada.lv.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please let us know.

As you can see, they are clearly not understanding at all to me not having a passport readily available. In fact, it actually seems like they are taking advantage of the fact that I do not have a passport readily available. Since bovada only responds to emails once every 3 days this has taken over week for us to be right back were we started. Not to mention, SBR has not even acknowledged my complaint.

Here's a fun fact for you guys.

    21.4 million

According to Census and State Department data, 21.4 million passports were issued in 2016, which is the most ever. That means 42 percent of Americans hold a passport, a growth of 15 percent since 2007. In 1990, only four percent of Americans had one.Jan 18, 2018

I did not accept a bonus, I was not referred by a friend, and I only have one account. I won around 20 units in college football and put in a cash out. I immediately received an automated response asking for an ID along with a selfie. I sent that in and 12 hours later was asked for an ID, selfie, and a bill for proof of residence along with a message saying my account was disabled. I immediately sent in all 3. About 24 hours later I was asked for ID again. I sent very clear images front and back. I have not heard anything back and it's been over 48 hours. I have asked multiple times why my account is disabled without a response. I've commented on a few threads about bovada on here and received only negative feedback from the moderator. Please don't make the same mistake I did and think you can come here and look for help. Please do not comment in my thread Optional!!
Books like bovada, bet365 etc are solid books for recreational bettors who lose long term. They can profile you pretty fast based on your betting patterns. If you bet value games without any crazy parlays and win consistently they will limit your or outright kick you out. They have square lines. If you join to take advantage of these lines with big amount and try hit and run, they will limit or outright kick you out. If you follow winning handicapping services like Bettingresource, they will outright kick you out or limit you. In conclusion if you are not a long term losing bettor, there aren't many options out there...stick to books like cris/bookmaker and pinnacle if you are a winner. Don't waste your time with others, not worth the hassle. SBR mods cannot do much about this but they may be able to get at least your deposit back.

Maybe you should read the entire thread before you make a silly suggestion about asking for my deposit back. Bovada clearly stated my funds are safe in my account. Why the hell would I suggest for them to keep my winnings and send my deposit back over a fabricated verification issue. I've already started the process of getting my passport. I just think everyone needs to see this for what is along with the many other current bovada complaints going around the internet right now.

If it turns out that they deny you, SBR can probably help get a senior manager to double check what has gone on at the very least.

Despite what it might look like this week, they do have a good history of treating complaints fairly.
It's so unfair that these slimy bookmakers hold all of the cards. The fact that you told him the most he should do is ask 'when' he will be approved is maddening. Look, SBR is probably the only non-governmental agency in the world that has the power to hold these guidos accountable. They are looking for opportunities to steal players funds. Funny, they never seem to collect any of this information until it's time for a payout.

It can be maddening. But your dealing with security people paid to be suspicious once KYC starts. Being angry or threatening almost never works. Can always vent at them afterward.

I guess SBR is completely aborting my case. Not one word. Not even a email. And def not an email in my spam folder. Considering the fact that this is a blatant fake excuse to try to not pay me I really doubt you can do anything anyways. I followed all your suggestions and it's gotten me nowhere. I just don't really understand the point of the complaint because I'm seeing multiple complaints that are not being addressed. Like I said from the beginning, I did not break ANY of the rules. They're attempting to stiff me over some complete BS. Thanks

If you want help check your PM messages. If you want to come at SBR again, be prepared for me to fire back just as hard at you. And I promise you it will NOT help your chances of success here if I do explain what I really think about you and your dodgy pal and your initial posts here in other threads.

I haven't posted in this thread in awhile because I thought I had a chance of handling this thing with Bovada without help. I was completely wrong. I thought I was making some progress when Bovada sent me this email 2 days ago.

    Hi,

Thanks for contacting Bovada Financial Services.

Upon checking with the Verification Team I can see that the driving license was not accepted so we need another form of government issued ID such as Passport or simply send any government issued document that might help. This will be reviewed and once we can determine if this can be accepted or not we will let you know.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please let us know.

    Regards,

    Bovada Financial Services
    financialservices@bovada.lv

Boy was I wrong! They got my hopes hope because they finally looked like they would work with me on some other forms of verification other then a passport. Didn't matter anyway because less then 24 hours after that email they sent this one

    Hello,

While conducting an investigation, it was found that your account was involved in a breach of our Terms of Service and Player Agreement. Due to this breach, the decision was made to terminate our business relationship with you and discontinue all services and products offered. As a result, any available balance has been voided.

We ask that you refrain from opening any other accounts. Discovery of any accounts opened by yourself will result in immediate termination of your account and any associated balance seized. This decision was made with careful consideration of all the facts and we judge this decision to be final.

    Regards,

    Bovada Security

I immediately messaged em and asked what was going on. They sent me this.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

Took me forever to find but I finally got on live chat and according to Eleasha. I breached a terms of service and she couldn't disclose how or why or any info other then I breached the terms of service. I took screen shots of the conversation and plan on posting. I was hoping to get emailed a copy of the chat I did not. Basically, These criminals are making a false claim that I broke a rule. I knew they were trying to "void" my balance when they claimed they couldn't "verify" my California Drivers license but I thought they had to have a real reason. That's just not the case. I asked for my deposit back and she said the whole balance was "voided.

I tried to file a complaint with askgamblers but since it is sports betting related they could not take the case. I asked them if they could refer me and they replied with this email.

    Dear,

Unfortunately, Bovada Casino has been assigned 'Blacklisted' status here in AskGamblers.

The reason for this status is that this Casino is operating without a valid license issued by a regulated authority, so that further assistance on the matter is not possible to be requested from the relevant regulatory body.
Since they have no license, we can only advice to take this issue to a lawyers office.

All information we were able to gather is this telephone number, please click here: https://prnt.sc/v9995f.

We are very sorry we couldn't help. Wish you good luck more further

This one is just insane. They probably wanted me to contact them on live chat for when they told me they were stealing my funds and refuse to give a reason so I couldn't post it in a public forum. Lucky I have these screenshots because they did not email me a copy of the chat.

They don't tell you which rule you broke because they are convinced you cheated. And if they tell you they know how you cheated, then you'll know what you got caught doing. And if you know what you got caught doing, then you'll understand that you need to do something to cheat better next time.

It's pretty standard behavior for security in many industries - not just offshore sports betting - to refuse to share information from their investigation. It's not that hey aren't telling you because they don't know what rule they think you've broken. You can be sure of that.

Yeah there's one problem with that theory. I didn't cheat. I'm not even sure what you mean by cheat. You sound like a disgruntled bovada employee trying to defend their criminal behavior. Your forgetting that this went on for 3 weeks of back and forth emails of them claiming not to be able to verify my California driver's license and assuring me my funds were safe. So, if they didn't have a real reason in the first 3 weeks went on its not very likely for them to have one in the fourth.

If you look at the reason stated in the message you posted, it is not because they were found cheating people. In any case, while I cannot say much about their casino since I don't play those games, their sportsbook definitely has a good reputation around here. They consistently pay.

Don't do this. It doesn't do you any favors on this board to start flaming members.

I didn't make any judgement. I was simply telling you how it goes. The fact that they did not give you a reason means nothing. They have a reason and simply won't share it with you. Whether they are right or wrong, I'm in no position to say at the moment. I simply responded because you were acting like their refusal to share information was proof that they had nothing, and that's obviously flawed logic.

If you're truly innocent, then I hope you are fully compensated.

Update: I emailed bovada player advocacy asking for my deposit back since they were blatantly stealing my funds without explanation and got the same generic message copy and pasted from my chat convo about violating terms and all of my balance is voided. SBR has contacted me and said they are looking into it. Hopefully, they can make this right.

I understand not wanting to compromise an investigation however I just don't feel that it is acceptable especially from an A+ rated book to be able to confiscate a players balance without any explanation given as to which rule was violated.

    BTW, get a passport.

You said 'in fact, it actually seems like they are taking advantage of the fact that I do not have a passport readily available'.

I'd say, that is NOT fact at all, and only something you or one would write to try & defend the fact that they want to get around this. They wanted a passport in the first place. They are still offering as of the 3rd email to take a government issued ID.

Your lack of transparency and attempts to fight the angles (by giving data of the % of people who have a passport) is generally telling.

This seems like a pretty simple fix for you. How do you not have a government issued ID? What drivers license did you send in? Where is their response to their rejection of your 'drivers license'. Things would be a lot easier to understand if you showed the emails you sent them like you showed the cropped messages with support.

Per your response in the other thread that you came to spam this issue, which led to my circling back here, it doesn't seem like you are being necessarily fair to the scenario. It sucks if you are being completely forthright and honest about things, but the picture being painted is clearly one sided. You should get your money and it should be an easy fix. They might be making things more difficult than needed but you are certainly making things difficult to sort through with the lack of transparency.

We appreciate you submitting your driver's license; however, in order to complete your verification, we would require that you submit your passport as your government id.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please let us know.

    Regards,

    Bovada Financial Services
    financialservices@bovada.lv

    response:

Can you please explain why my government issued driver's license is not enough for verification? I do not have a passport. This is ridiculous, at this point you are leaving me no choice but to file a formal complaint with SBR forum and askgamblers.com.

    Days later:

    Regards,

    Bovada Financial Services
    financialservices@bovada.lv

Response after giving them time to reach out:

I've been patiently waiting to hear from you. I'm still confused on the reasoning you can't verify my government issued driver's license. Also, you haven't explained why my account is even disabled in the first place. I was told you would be reaching out to discuss alternatives on how we move forward and instead I just noticed that you canceled my pending withdrawal. Please let me know what is going on.

    They're response days later:

    Hi Adam,

    My response:

Thanks for understanding. I've attached some very clear images.

    They're response days later:

    Hi,

Thanks for contacting Bovada Financial Services.

In order to update it, we would require a government-issued photo ID (such as a passport). Please submit this information in JPEG or PDF format to verification@bovada.lv.

It’ll take approximately 24 hours for us to review what you've sent. You’ll then be notified via your account messages as well as the email address we have on file.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please let us know.

    Regards,

    Bovada Financial Services
    financialservices@bovada.lv

    My response:

It seems like your staff is having serious communication issues. Here is a copy and paste of the previous email you sent me.

    "Hi Adam,

Thanks for contacting Bovada Financial Services.

Sorry to hear that you do not have a passport that you are able to provide.

Someone clearly told me your verification team will be reaching out to discuss alternatives and instead you keep sending the same email and ignoring my government photo ID I keep sending in. What happen to reaching out and discussing alternatives??.

    Hello,

Thank you for submitting to us your documentation.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

    Regards,

    verification@bovada.lv

    They're response:

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for contacting Bovada Financial Services.

Upon checking with the Verification Team I can see that the driving license was not accepted so we need another form of government issued ID such as Passport or simply send any government issued document that might help. This will be reviewed and once we can determine if this can be accepted or not we will let you know.

Should you have any questions or require further assistance, please let us know.

    Regards,

    Bovada Financial Services
    financialservices@bovada.lv

I didn't get a chance to respond to this because they immediately sent this soon after:

As you can see they were pretty much toying with me for weeks and then decided they were going to keep my balance and not give a reason why. I believe they planned on keeping my balance from the beginning because of the way they claimed all my legit verification docs were unverifiable. It was very frustrating to deal with considering it took them days to respond to my emails and it seemed like they were blatantly messing with me. I'm sorry if I came on SBR with the wrong attitude. I didn't realize how powerless I actually was in this situation. SBR is literally the only place that might be able to hold Bovada accountable. Very scary and alarming news that askgamblers sent me informing me they are blacklisted because they operate without the proper gaming licenses. I didn't they could "void" my balance and keep my deposits without even giving a legit reason but they did. They have. They refuse to even give back the money I deposited. I hope this doesn't happen to more people. Seems like they did some unorthodox things to a few other accounts at the same time as mine. Even tho it's complete BS, I'd be happy with the money I deposited back and take it as a lesson learned.

Why don't you get a passport and end this? You started this thread more than 2 weeks ago, so probably you would have gotten it by now.

I have my passport. I thought I lost it a few years ago and after I told my dad how serious it was getting with Bovada he took off work and searched his place and found it. So yes, I now have my passport but Bovada will not respond to me and has made it clear they are voiding my balance and keeping my deposits.

It's my California Driver's License and it doesn't expire for years. Nothing weird or "unverifiable" about it. Along with selfie's and bills. And a bunch of mail.

This is just a warning for ALL...... Clear yourself to Cash before winning----send all the requested documents BEFORE its a problem......that alone causes fog if you don't do it....We all know how they work by now....

Again, I don't think they are 'toying' with you. That is not the implication I get. I have no doubt that you feel toyed with, but just remember how horrible these companies are run. I've had absolutely insane exchanges with BetOnline, and 5Dimes as of recent where they were actually scamming, but they didn't feel that they were. It felt criminal, it was criminal, but the people responding were just going off of the insane directions that they were given.

It does seem like quite a bit to put up with. I cannot defend their actions, as I am in the camp that thinks that even if you have broken TOS that they should need to answer to at minimum a 3rd party to be clear about what you did. There is no way a site that has ranking systems for books and their credibility should have situations like this sit as black marks against them. No doubt that this will stand as a black mark. This isn't fair or proper conduct at all. Even if you have broken TOS and do not deserve to get paid, this back and forth exchange is not right. I don't know what verification process they are allowed to instill but asking for the govt ID, and pending that you did send them a drivers license and utility bill that should be more than enough.

But again just to be very clear, this miscommunication stuff happens ALLLLLL the time. Not saying its right at all, but to say at every turn that its intentional wrongdoing seems very extreme.

Update: I have my passport and bovada will not communicate with me. They refuse to even pay me my deposits back. I was hoping SBR could mediate the situation but haven't received any response about my case. Optional has been trying to help and I appreciate it but doesn't seem like anything is really happening. Zero accountability here. Bovada is getting away with robbery!

I know how you feel. Almost a month ago, I was wrongfully accused by Bovada of charging back 2 credit card transactions. I provided them with proof by providing my credit card statements over 3 weeks ago. An SBR complaint was filed. Bovada has responded that they are "still reviewing the documentation." My account has been locked for almost a full month.

In real time, the documentation takes 3 minutes to review. Bovada is a total joke.

Sorry to hear that man. It is absolutely ridiculous that they can get away with this type of behavior. Have you heard anything from your SBR case worker?
