    BetOnline.com vs other books

    Hey guys,

I'll start by saying I'm in the US and I have a question about BetOnline and sportsbooks in general.

I joined BetOnline before football season because I was tired of going through friends of friends and some people I knew were doing online books. I didn't do enough research because all the books I tried to join weren't accepting people from the US. Finally I landed at BetOnline and the experience was good enough.

Now, I am by no means an expert gambler. I just wanted to take some shots to make football more exciting. Well, long story short, I ended up winning (nothing crazy, like $1,500) on the Giants in the super bowl. I wanted to get a payout and I started the process the day after the super bowl to ensure I had some winnings and didn't blow it all on something stupid. I still don't have any money. I feel like I've been jumping through hoops all the time. First, I needed to meet some rollover balance that was never explained to me. Fine, I did that. Then I had to wait until the system updated which took forever. All the while, I'm not getting any info on what's going on or why I'm not getting my money. Most of my phone calls were dead ends as I was told to go through their website or emails. But no one has been responding to my emails. I have sent several over the past few weeks and the ones that were answered were answered at least 5 days later.

I finally got my payout processed a week ago today but still have no date or anything happening so I call up and find out that it was cancelled because I only sent in a CC document for 1 of the 2 CCs I used for deposit (I used the card twice, won no money with the deposits from it and they don't even accept it anymore). The thing is, I had to call to find this out. No cancellation notice was sent, nothing.

Sorry for the long post, but my question is

Is this normal? I figure that a lot of these books will drag out payment a little but does this seem standard?

I wouldn't mind jumping through some hoops if the customer service was helpful but they don't respond to emails and the phone operators don't seem to be very knowledgeable and honestly, I was HUNG UP ON on 2 different occasions.

some books dont require docs.. some do.. but betonline will pay albeit slower than most 15-20 days sometimes.

It's not that I have a problem with documents, it's that I sent those docs in and even called and was told they had them and I was good to go (literally had a rep on the phone telling me to process the payout).

Now they need more but never told me my payout was cancelled or that I needed more docs until I called them today.

I don't even mind waiting for a check or wire, but I want the damn thing processed and I feel like at every turn is a phone operator that tells me to send an email, followed by me sending an email and getting no response.

Are the A and A+ books (listed on this site) better with customer service? Or can I expect this across the board

    Thanks guys.

I'm all for getting in on good lines and stuff but I'm more of a casual bettor and customer service far outweighs anything else.

I will check out 5 Dimes and Betislands.

Keep your fingers crossed that I get my money from BetOnline before the spring starts lol.

http://www.5dimes.com/ for options not customer service, http://www.betislands.com/ for customer service/good bonus and fast payouts (March Madness 110% bonus up to $500, same day payouts)... for a more personalized experience there is an up and comer http://www.alliancesportsbook.com/, like JJ said in another post... Good reps from good owners and they got strong veteran management and backing, also (March Madness 110% up to $1000, same day payouts)... they are all safe to deposit at and only one is considered an old school shop.

BetOnline is pretty well known for bad customer service.

At that point, I would have dragged out my funds and never return. I hate being hung up on, and combined with unfriendly employees who make you feel you're stealing their time, it's the most unprofessional thing a customer service can do to you.

BetIslands and 5Dimes... cant go wrong. I would surely consider Heritage right now... you never know with them and the old invitation only policy. They really like the invitation only thing, been doing it that way for years and never know if they might go back to it. It would be good to get that account opened now even with a minimum deposit just so you have it... instead of want it and cant get it. Also, those guys are so solid and careful with their business that if they run into one little bump with the boys I could see them immediately closing shop to new US players in a heartbeat and thats that, no new US sign ups. So like I said, everyone that can... open an account as soon as possible even with a minumum deposit just so you can have the out down the road. Those guys dont take shat and do everything they can to cover their guys which would include going invite or no new US players in a second. Though if it were to happen I guess you could still sign up at Bethorizon to get the same service.

    Just a little update:

My payment was cancelled again. After sending in the appropriate (new) docs, I called up on Thursday to talk to a rep. He said I was good to go with all my documents and advised me to wait until the next morning (Friday) because they offer $50 off your payout method once a month on Fridays. He said that a check was $50 and I would get it for free.

So I requested the payout and get an email today saying that it was canceled because I didn't leave sufficient funds to cover the cost of the payout which was supposed to be free as per their own representative.

This is getting pretty ridiculous and I'm pretty close to exploding.

Just to update and close this out:

I finally received my check on Friday 3/16, 5 weeks after starting this process.

It turns out, my free Friday payout was not processed because I didn't add "please use free payout" as a phrase in the comments section of my payout request. What a ridiculous way of holding onto my money for another week.

I ended up just requesting it again on Monday and giving them $50 to get this over with. Check was delivered 11 days (9 business days) later.

Maybe the worst customer service I've experienced for anything ever. Being given the run-around is one thing, but customer service reps telling you to hang up and send emails to addresses that don't reply for weeks or reps that actually hang up on you is just unacceptable.

I have been using 5dimes since.
