The other only out to out striker in the team is awful Jo. Barring any injury, there is no way Fred won't start every game. Tactically he is very important to Brazil attack. He is strong enough to hold up the ball, willing to drop deep to pull defenders out of their position that allows deep runners like Neymar, Hulk and Paulinho to get into goal scoring positions.

I might just do that, have not decided yet. Korea looks like absolute garbage right now, but that all can change in a few days.

No chance of even a draw in their opening game. Id love it. Id love to lose all my money on my parlays just to see Croatia get a result. But theyre going to get smoked and even if they dont, theyll lose. The game will be a blow out.

The hosts have NEVER lost their opening game of a World Cup. 70% are wins and 30% are draw.

In the 20 games the hosts and co-hosts have opened their World Cup campaigns with, they've amassed a record of 14 wins, six draws and zero defeats. What's most remarkable about the host nations' successful run is the fact that - very often - the hosts aren't the traditional superpowers of the game.

A blowout in an opening game ? Man, this guy is a moron. Historically, there have been quite a few surprising draws in the opening games, and other games were tight. Brazil will be lucky to win by two, most likely a 1-0/2-1 type of deal will happen (if not a draw).

As a fellow Korean and follower of the Taeguk Warriors I'm really hoping we show up against Russia. When the draw came out it was seen as a huge blessing to draw Russia a legitimate team we should beat but now that we got whomped by Ghana I'm nervous . I really wanted to set up 2 strikers with Son and Young attacking but it looks like we're relying on son and Yueng controlling tempo in the midfield and connecting on through balls for Young. Really praying to god we get Young a few free kicks around the box for some beautiful set plays . When
We score I suspect it to be off
Of Young and Son playing off each other

And lol, was late getting in my Spain futures. What futures plays had the most value in the opinion of this thread's posters?

A lucky win for Brazil. Certainly didn't play to their standards, probably due to the 1st match nerves. Oscar was great, had a hand in every Brazil goal. Most disappointing player, once again is Hulk. He always sucks for Brazil. How did he get chosen every time in the 1st XI is beyond me?

And with Neymar scoring 2 goals, my top scorer bet on Fred didn't started too well. Hopefully he can get 2-3 goals in the next 2 games.

Spain to advance from group stage @1.90
    Netherlands to beat Chile @2.30

I know Spain was shit today but last WC they also lost their first match, against Switzerland, then they won their next to matches(1 of them was against Chile) and went through. I feel like Chile is really overrated here, they only have 2 decent players, Sanchez and Vidal and the latter one is far from being 100%. They almost drew with a terrible Australian side.

Netherlands showed awesome from today, and to win the group they must beat Chile, so I think 2.30 is great value imo.

You should parlay the ML of the next 2 Spain games @ 2.03 for more value. Because of their inferior goal difference, they will need 2 wins out of 2 to qualify. If they draw against Chile, they are almost certainly out since Netherlands and Chile can just play out a draw to squeeze Spain out.

    9) England(v Italy) DNB @ 1.99

Usually the overrated England are named as the tournament favs. But this time, they are underdogs to even qualify from the group. Given the Liverpool and Everton players selected, I expect England to play on the counter with a lot of speed which could really hurt Italy.

    12) Ecuador DNB @ 2.5

Playing at a high altitude of 1,172m(highest in all the Brazilian stadiums) will favour a team like Ecuador. It should give them a 'home stadium' edge as they are used to playing at high altitude. As for the talent, I don't think there is too much to separate the 2 sides. Swiss have more talent in the centre with players like Xhaka and Inler .Ecuador strength lines on the width with Antonio Valencia and fullback Walter Ayovi. It's a battle of centre midfield v the width.

    18) Croatia -0.75 @ 1.86

After watching how Cameroon played with like 6 defenders against Mexico, it's really hard to back them. How could they play so cowardly against a team like Mexico? In midfield, this team got no creativity. They only have hard workers like Song and Enoh. Now that Eto'o is also out, they will need a miracle to even pick up a point in the competition.1 thing that could only favour them is the conditions in Manau.

    Spain -1 @ 2.06

I like the starting XI today. Pedro, Spain top scorer in recent times is starting. Then old man Xavi and poor man Pique are not playing.
