    This is a great question.. when it comes to eCommerce having ads are tricky.. most of the time it works like a billboard on the side of the interestate.... for example.. SBR is the landlord/owner of the BLANK billboard on the side of the interstate.. they charge a fee for any company that wants to post an advertisement on there.. It's just as simple as that. You don't have to click on it, you don't have to call, heck you don't even have to go to the place or buy anything.. but SBR still makes money from the company leasing that "billboard" until that companies lease is up... this is just one of the examples on how ads work.. but there are lots of different types of requirements depending on the contracts between companies.

    i love the fact that im not pro. I saved myself 200 dollars that would eventually be sent down the drain. I suck at betting but love this site. I know i dont deserve the pro benifits but i dont need them.

    I make most of my bets with a local, just take 200 from your winnings one week and throw it on 5dimes. Thats what I did, threw it on a future in tennis. Lost and I am a pro for a year and I go back to betting with my local

    Go to book
    Place bet with Real Money and present players card with bet
    Points added to card based on amount played immediately
    Receive betting ticket
    Await outcome of the play
    Present ticket to sports book ticket writer
    Receive Real Money for winners (No fee to cash ticket)
    Repeat
    Once enough points (based on your play, not your posts) are earned you can cash them for almost anything you like from key chains to meals.

    I'm up 70 units this season, all posted plays. All my money is in betfair, which SBR doesn't use for pro.

    Am I still broke? 100% of SBR pros don't have a long term record, or don't have a record that is making a descent profit, so don't even start.

    If SBR wants to be recognized as "the best gambling forum in the world" then it's gotta start supporting the BEST book in the world, or at least a book that is not just American.

    This one seems a little less hostile then the others though.
    There are 2 very good debates on the first page.

    Personally it doesnt bother me not being a Pro. I throw my points in the casino and lose them all the time.
    I am here more for the information then anything and have learned quite a bit.
    SBR makes money off of the traffic and people clicking on the banners / ads... the Pro Program is just a nice bonus for them

    This is not a pay to use site. The $200 you deposit to become Pro is yours to bet with. It is free to use SBR like any other forum, and it's free to become PRO as long as you fund your account with at least $200.

    Despite the protests and various reasons given by non pros for not taking part, by far the most likely reasons are multi accounters who lack the valid personal information to properly withdraw from an offshore account.

    To portray the Pro program as if SBR is charging you to be here is silly.

I don't know why sbr hasn't put you out on the curb yet for pick up.
