What's SBR's stance on paid posters?

I know the official stance is that there are no paid posters here, but it's crap. Since you started paying Crazyl, we've all seen a big change in this poster. Is SBR following EOG's model?

There aren't any paid posters here. The business models are entirely different, SBR is a brand aside from a forum, EOG is a forum.

Hedge, SBR John answered that one. Someone correct me if I am wrong but I believe he said that people are paid but they receive their compensation for other duties than posting.

No paid posters. And if you see whats going on at eog you can see why. They become coma inducing when they have a quota. After they burn out its just a bunch of smiley face posts to reach quota.

We hire people to work projects and moderate. No one has ever been told they had to post, given a quota or coached into what to post. A guy like Justin works disputes and he post as he wants. Thats a big difference in models.

It is bit like paying a woman to clean your house but when she comes over she does no cleaning but has sex. I think that was a Seinfeld episode

I get your point--semantics. SBR is still better than EOG, but they do similar things. Crazyl's posts have sure picked in number, despite "not being paid for it". Hard to explain the change in the Frequency and Niceness of Crazyl's recent posts, unless he's being paid to do so, IMO.

the only one that is paid here to post is richie.. NO JOKE..

i was on the phone with richie last week and he told me that the only ones that pay him are SBR and CW.. sbr pays richie 50 bucks per video (which is why he has a vid for every hr,.. thurs aft vid, thurs night vid, friday aft vid, friday evening vid, and so on) it's 50 bucks each time he does it.. PLUS, he has a deal that each time he mentions sportsbookreview.com, your information highway..... blah blah blah, he is given an extra 25 bonus..

and also, CW gives richie a free 50 dollar parlay each time he mentions CW being an A+ book..

Let's cut to the chase: JJ and Crazyl are on the payroll. Will SBR confirm?

Nicky I know you were mad last night but Great video last night, and there's no fukkin way SBR gives Rich $50 per video. Say Richie makes about 3 videos per day that's $150 and that's $57,750 a year not including so called bonuses, theres no way in hell SBR is giving him that for vids.

gordy geiko, why do you think richie gives 4 vids per day at times? and why do you think he always mentions SBR being your #1 information highway and how CW is an A+ book..

for the cash geiko.. gordy, this richie is loaded. where do you think he gets the money to stay home all day and sit on his desk and drink beer, go to the pool and gamble. from the SBR paychecks.

richie is loaded.. he cleans up with those vids.

Hedge JJ has helped us before and has an open offer to work anytime. I hope he will come on board for the SBRTracker final design. So yes, he has worked off and on and continues to help with the lines. Crazy is working a project now. Neither have now or ever had a posting quota.

A good example is Ganch. Another great talent, the kind SBR likes to have. He has worked several projects including one now. He posts some. Same with ThePrick, same with everyone here. No one is hired to post here. At eog they hire 20+ posters for bread crumbs and give them a quota and suggest what they should post about. Its borderline inhumane. Totally different here.

I'm really not knocking them for hiring posters to look busy. We just don't believe in that. Look at the sticky post at the top of the page and the list of projects being worked on now. Everyone at SBR is working on one of those projects. They may post some or a lot but they are working on something that will add to the experience of visiting this site.

Then what are JJ's and Crazyl's official titles on the payroll? You mentioned Ganch, but he's a Mod, the other two are not. I understand paying Mods, but JJ and Crazyl aren't. It seems you're intentionally confusing the issue. Pay a poster, but don't call him poster--is that how it works?

They are independent contractors and therefore not on payroll.

All this is, is John calling tomatos...tomautos....You bring people on to work on projects at sbr...now although you might not require them to post, Im sure you encourage it, and given they are on the payroll, Im sure they feel the obligation to contribute.

At the end of the day, its all the same thing...people just get riled up over nothing.

You're probably right. My problem is the word games. EOG has a dozen or so paid posters, yet we have zero. Realistically we have at least two, but SBR chooses to call them special project guys. Let's call a spade a spade--we have paid posters here. Admit it and I'll drop the topic.

Hedger I was paid through the years a total of about $800.......lol

That is a ton of money for 3 years or so, I have said it many times I asked Walker for money lots of times and he gave me a few hundred here and there to evaluate SBR Odds, chump change. I should be making 5k a month here at least, I was one of inventors and was left out.

There are paid posters on here.If you look at the new threads each day it is very easy to tell which ones are paid and which ones are not.
Just curious what "projects" someone can work on at a gambling site?
I can't speak for all of the degenerates on here but I like to gamble and I like coming to gambling forums to talk with other people about today's games or to read about certain issues and whether or not a certain poster was posting on this board I could care less."Paid posters" go from one forum to another but what the people don't realize is that if a person comes to this gambling forum, they are probably going to all of the other forums to because ,believe it or not, it isn't that hard to have more then one web browser open.
So let me ask you this guys, would you rather come on here and read a post from someone that is actually here to discuss the issues or bullshit about something or would you rather read posts that are made by some guy that is getting paid to make up useless threads to generate discussion?I don't know about you guys but I hate people that are fake

This was already posted from earlier post but since you asked, here you go. A lot of work goes into these sites and new projects.

From the "Coming to an SBR near you" thread
BeatThePrick baseball edition! And a brand new interface that works with sbrodds so players can make all their selections with real time odds. Click and bet and win your share of the $5,000 a month in free cash. Coming this month baby!

SBRVideos in early August. So hush hush I'm not exactly sure what to expect. But tons of handicapping and game breakdowns, plus interviews with the bookmakers at CRIS, Pinnacle and all the top books.

sbrodds gets a major upgrade including new servers to make the lines lightning fast.

MySBR in early August. A simple interface that in a few seconds and a couple of clicks you can have your own hardcore gambling website.

The SBR Bash August 22nd - August 23rd. Closing out summer in style. These are great fun and SBR is holding nothing back. So if you like free everything like cash, guest rooms, airfare, food, poker then get there.

SBRTracker in late September. This is not a tracker that will verify your record using stale lines, sorry touts. It will work with sbrodds and you can track your picks using realtime lines. Again, a simple interface so just click and bet. Will work great with MySBR .

SBR Las Vegas sportsbook reviews in September. Going to Vegas? Find out the skinny on all the land based sportsbooks.

SBRCasino Review in November. Find out what the payouts are on each game at all the online casinos and what they should be. Updated lists of all specials and promos will come in handy too. Play in SBR's own play for free casino and see how the games should pay.

Oh man, don't I wish. I tried to negotiate the same salary with a liquor stipend each month, and then John got the Schlotzskys, Whataburger and Granzin's Meat Market bills and cut me right off. JJ's the one who decided I was only going to get $8 an hour after my first month.

Since I'm not in the payroll department, I can't tell you who's getting how much on what pay schedule, but I do know that at no time since I've worked for SBR has anyone specifically told me I need to post on the message board. I sort of just understood that to be the case since it was part of SBR and I was supposed to serve as an admin on the message board. If defining that as a paid poster or 'professional poster' in someone's mind helps them get through their day, then far be it from me to stand in the way. But at the end of each month, I don't look at my paycheck and say, "Wow, 80¢ a post and double time on Sunday."

The problem is when you pay a guy to post he becomes a company ass kisser and has to post even when he has no material. Its like walking in a bar and 25 guys with smiley faces come running up to you and calling you friend. Its fake and boring. We lost a bunch of posters to eog because we sure as heck are not going to pay a bunch of fakers to keep them. You will see where our money goes over the next 5 weeks. They will not have a bash or any new products. Now you know where their money goes.
