bunch of friends have cut the cable cord for a while now, i find it easy to stream shows and everything with netflix, amazon prime and all that stuff but Live Sports are much harder... all the people here have android boxes but when i see them the quality doesnt look the greatest and they seem to need to be updated regularly ??

ive been seeing nvidia shield is the best online , anybody got knowledge on this ?

Yeah i use accounts i cracked or hacked to watch anything i need for the most part. The nvidia shield is the best in my eyes. You just need to get kodi on it and a good build such as diggz build or one that has a good iptv on it and pay for that.

Drew I’d highly recommend jail breaking the firestick / downloading Kodi and getting this sportztv app we use. I think there’s over 3k channels / all PPV / every pay service and sports packages / channels in probably 20 different countries and its $14.95 a month for 2 TVs. They have packages for more as well. I got IPvanish set it up like we are in the Netherlands and have had no buffering issues at all (Mrs. watched GOT on hbo last night no problems). Absolute game changer.

Ive tried the amazon firestick but when i put Kodi on it , all the programs were buggy and didnt work great /HD maybe its different now

ive read the nvidia shield is the BEST by far and everything else is just a downgrade, but of course its more pricey $200+ range for the box , but it also comes with a decent video game system inside? I just wanna be able to watch all sports and shows HD with no problems, i guess you gotta get these programmed from somebody to do all that and pay a yearly fee though?

Cable does suck though paying to watch like 10 or under channels and 90% of the time im watching netflix or streaming

Just get the free antenna if you are in normal area u should get all locals and several more decent channels

use cell phone for internet u can download and stream from there, no need for monthly internet bill from cable company

    thats true cable cutting

Tried to cancel cable with Xfinity but I'd save like $20 a month. So no point really. They have you by the balls.

Amazon firestick does not have enough ram or hard drive to run it smoothly.

Then why not word your original post that way as opposed to such a broad statement?

Ive read some people online that have had success with the Firestick
not sure why but mine just wouldnt run at an adequate speed and would be choppy
the Shield is much pricier then any other android box at $200 so im sure it has the best quality, but if you have a firestick that works perfectly no point in changing

do you have yours setup as like a tv guide format or you have to go through certain apps, then find the link, then load it up everytime ?

Impossible to have a good build on firestick. You are missing out on a ton bevause it's not possibke to run the good ones well on that. What build you using?

I got rid of DirectTV in 2014,, and I haven't missed it at all. I figure I've saved nearly $5,000 from that one decision. If I want to watch live sports, I just go to reddit and find a live stream on my computer. If I want to watch TV shows, I use KODI and stream them.

Literally no reason for me to have Cable. I hate paying for things I don't use, so even if I was a millionaire I probably wouldn't buy cable again

I've been without for nearly four years.
Last year, in January, I connected for less than 2 months. Cancelled it.
Hated it because their was nothing I liked.

I live in Las Vegas so I can go to any sportsbook and watch all the games at once.
Or, I can look up streams on Reddit, for my tablet, if I don't want to take the time to go to a sportsbook.

I can watch any news source on YouTube, somebody is always posting news videos.
YouTube has killed paying for cable, big time, for me.

I'm not into that nerdy shit like Game of Thrones or anything like that. No point to it.

Reddit is great for streaming sports.
I paid $140 for a brand new phone about 2 months ago, but my phone doesn't seem like it can handle the Reddit stream.
Maybe I got ripped off, maybe I just need to pony up some cash for a better phone. The next time I talk to a salesperson, I will definitely ask about Reddit streams
But my tablet can, and it comes in very nicely.

Cut the cord 3 years ago. Got tired of DirecTV and their bs.

Best IPTV app imo is Streamers. If the IPTV has an APK that's probably best though. I think some people use Kodi with their IPTV, but I'm not a fan of that. I think the Streamers app or APKs are easier to navigate and Kodi is a waste of space on your devices. My current IPTV service expires in like a month, I'll probably switch to Helix when it does. Like the fact that they have local channels.

Anybody looking at US pro sports, I highly recommend bilasport.net. Great steam quality, no popups. I've been using it for like 6 months and it hasn't failed me yet.

been thinking of cutting the cord for awhile but have not yet due to convenience and laziness.

All this stuff you guys are talking about is foreign to me so bear with me. How do you jailbreak a firestick? Do you do it yourself or purchase it already jailbroken?

It's easy to do on your own, very simple. When I initially cut the cord I bought a pre loaded one. Big mistake, it was loaded with a bunch of junk, most the memory was used up, and it ran slow. I ended up doing a factory reset and starting from scratch on my own. Troypoint is a great source, he has videos and guides on how to install a lot of different apps.

I sideloaded the Fios Tv app to my Fire Tv because I pay for Fios. You probably could do the same with the Direct TV app and just buy an account on EBAY for a one time fee of $10.
