What's the greatest concerts you've ever attended?

    1) Killers (Sams Town 10 year extravaganza)
Played in Sams Town (where else) ballroom in Las Vegas.
What made it special was you had to be a friend of the band to get an invite.
To say the show was incredible is an understatement.

    2) Springsteen (MSG) The River Tour
The band played almost 5 hours.

    3) INXS (Union Square NYC)
In 1997 the band started their 20th year tour, the show was over the top charismatic.
    Months later Hutchens killed himself.
I loved that band, I understand they weren't for everyone's taste in music, but they were the quintessential 80's band.

    4) Dexy's Midnight Runners. (NYC)
No, they were not a one hit wonder band, and "Come On Eileen" did not really do Too-Rye-Ay justice, what it did do however was make people take notice of the band.
Make no mistake about it, front man Kevin Rowland was (and still is) very quirky, some consider a genius. Dexy's shows were tight and choreographed to perfection, like Brandon Flowers of the Killers, Rowland was a perfectionist and like Flowers kept reinventing himself (and the band)

    5) Blake Shelton (Barkley's Center)
One of my wife's favorite vocalists (I'm a casual country fan)
She asked me to go with her to the show, I was curious so I tagged along.
Let me tell you something, Blake Shelton has is all going on, uber talented to say the least.

Ever see a live Killer show?
If not do yourself a favor and do it, the band leaves nothing on the table, the Killers just bring it and bring it some more.

Pearl Jam Halloween 2009. The very last event at the Legendary Spectrum. The house that Dr. J built. Almost 40 songs over 4 hours. Closed out with an iconic Star Spangle Banner Guitar solo by Mike McCready with Ticker Tape. Amazing night.

First time I saw INXS was at a 3 bands for 3 bucks under 18s concert in Sydney.

They were support for my favorite band, Cold Chisel, and I'd never heard of them before.

Would like to say I was a music guru and knew they would be big right away. But honestly thought Hutchence seemed so "gay" the music was lost on me that time.

    Queen in 1985 was awesome.

Kiss in 1980 for the Unmasked tour is still my #1

Would give many things to go back in time and go to an early sublime, rage or less than jake concert.

have seen Outkast in their prime as well as everclear. Warp Tour was always good. Pennywise was very good.

Not quite the deal you got, but paid 12 dollars for 5th row (Springsteen's River Tour)
Many say that was Bruce's tour de force, I believe that.

Did you by chance go to the Day On The Green in 1977? Led Zeppelin, Judas Priest and Rick Derringer.

    Hey Lenny,

Sounds like you caught one of the great concerts, the only one I went to in "77" , Eagles , Heart, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Steve Miller, Foreigner, my wife reminded me who we saw in this one as I was baked and had too good of a time, but I do remember when Joe Walsh and Don Felder, did their dueling guitars in "Hotel California" (it went on for 10 minutes, not on the recorded version), the place went nuts. Memories

    Lol. That's great !

I was only 13 when I saw him.

Mitch Mitchell had silver sparkle Ludwig drums and I was saving my paper route money to buy some. As soon as I saw those guys. ( 6th row, right in the middle), I had to have the silver Ludwigs. And I did get them.

Truly an "experience" I will never forget as was yours I'm sure.

Thanks for starting this thread, this has brought back a lot of memories

I loved that band, I understand they weren't for everyone's taste in music, but they were the quintessential 80's band.

This is one band I wish I would have been able to see, loved the horns, settled in one night with the wife and we turned on MTV, they played "New Sensations" video, first time we were exposed to them, next day hit the local record store, been a fan ever since, Love the song "The Stairs" great intro.

My pleasure, I have a milestone birthday tomorrow and did some reflecting which was the reason why I started this thread. Now if you ask my brother he'll tell you any Pink Floyd show, can't argue with that; Two honorable mentions;Huey Lewis and the News, and I saw Pink open for Lenny Kravitz. Pink covered Janis Joplin to perfection. Blew me the fukk away.
Do you know who can cover Janis to perfection? Nobody (Pink did)
Little known fact about INXS is even though Hutchens was the front man and driving force, they'd be nothing if it wasn't for the three Farriss brothers.

This one is for you brother.
Listen to the way drummer Jon Farriss takes over around the 1:00 mark.

    The nature of your tragedy
    Is chained around your neck
Do you lead or are you lead
Are you sure that you don't care

There are reasons here to give your life
    And follow in your way
The passion lives to keep your faith
Though all are different, all are great

    Climbing as we fall

Here's a bonus track for you brother.
You think the thousands at Wembley were pumped?
