    Any motorcycle riders here??

Been riding the last 20 years, currently back to Yamaha R1 but I’ve owned a plethora of bikes over the years. Cant believe thinking back on my first bike it to was a Yamaha but an FZR1000....

Looking at riding from San Diego through Canada to Yukon Territory and ultimately Alaska

Anyone ever done this trip? Anyone wanna ride it?

Keyboards and seadoos as well. Love my toys

Opti next time you’re over let me know what you want to ride and I’ll try to borrow something close. Can get any sport bike , especially Ducati. Never been a Harley guy so might not have luck there

That would be a bit of a dream actually. And you're right, a Harley for an American cruise would be best. But I love Ducati's too.

Haven't owned a bike in over 20 years btw. But lived on one from about age 7 until early 30s.

Have had a few bikes. Favorite was an old ‘78 Honda CB 750k. Last one was a Kawasaki 1800cc sport cruiser. Loved riding them.

One day met up with wife, son and in laws to go out for dinner. They were all in the car behind me going 55 in right lane. This lady just swoops in from left lane and almost creams me. I had to swerve to the point that my right foot slid on the pavement, going 55 on a big bike. I was as close to eating asphalt as possible without doing it. My wife, kid and her parents were in the perfect place to see it all.

At the next stop light I pulled up next to the lady that almost hit me, asked her if she knew what just happened and she had no idea. Never saw me.

My inlaws and wife hammered me at dinner about what would happen to wife, kids etc if I died.

Sold the bike and haven’t got another since.

From my office window on the fifth floor I saw a rider going at least 50 mph in a 25 mph zone, his front tire hit something, (rock I think) went ass over head, cracked head straight on, cracked skull wide open, (no helmet) by the time EMS got to the scene dude was DOA.

What are the odds of hitting a mousse or rein deer on Kraken's bike trip?

    Over 0.5 - 200
    Under 0.5 + 150

Kraken? R1 is a sport bike right. Aren't you going to need a big bagger for touring?

You would have won bet that with me. Back in 1980 in a shithole place called Darien GA I hit a deer doing 60 mph broke both my femurs hitting the handle bars flying off the bike. Spent a long time in the hospital after that. Still didn’t stop me from getting back in the saddle a few months later

I know what you mean. I ride my bike in GA mountains. Came close to hitting deer. I once had the road blocked completely by elk in Smokey National Park.

Just picked up a 2007 Hayabusa yesterday, 6000 miles. I’ve ridden them before but it’s been a while. I forgot how hot they run with the dual exhaust, and its 95 here today.

The thing is constantly ready to launch into orbit. The difference between 30 and 120 isn’t much on the throttle

    Fun bike

They’re fun, and fine, if you just wanna ride it around town or do a half day trip.
They get dicey if you wanna start playing in the mountains. I’m a twisties rider, love the track and love the mtns, but thats where even experienced riders get into real trouble.

2012 ninja 250r was my old bike back in college. Owned it for 2-3 years. Rode it everyday. Stupidly did not lock it up. Got found parted out in a ditch in DC. Had to pay $100 for tow...

Will likely get 2018 Ninja 400. I've ridden 650s before, don't need to be tempted everyday to hit 100+ with light press to the gas...I don't weigh too much so I don't need/want a big bike. Did not have trouble with women riding on the back of the 250 either. Yeah 150mph sounds fun, but I've seen enough youtube videos where guy dies instantly on bike.

Dream bike would be ZX-6R but I personally don't see the point in spending double for such. Want to buy real estate ASAP so I need to save aggressively.

Last week turned 10,000 miles in 4 plus months and also last week was cut a break by a NYS Trooper for 76/55. He was cool as fukk - most likely because I told him the truth when he inquired as to why he pulled me over. That when I looked down I was coming down off of 70.

As he handed me my license back he said, "just slow down some".
    "Or try to".

How can I not hear him for his kindness?

A sport bike will be very uncomfortable on a ride that long.

Sold my ZX-10R a couple years back after almost dumping it doing a big ass wheelie for some girls, 10 minutes later we were on the interstate doing 160 right past a state trooper speed trap. He didn't even try us.

After 2 close calls in about 10 minutes I decided it was time to call it quits.

Been riding since I was a kid, never an accident on the street but dumped a 3 wheeler into some trees when I was about 11. Still have a big scar on my leg from that one.
