I disagree. In gambling, winners pay the juice, or vigorish. Losers just lose their bet.
Unless I have it wrong, in the analogy it works out the same. Winners made a disciplined sacrifice, threw personal temptations and egos aside, admitted and submitted to the Almighty. In spite of ridicule and persecution, the winner held steadfast. The winner likely sacrificed time to study the Word, etc.
While it may not feel like a cost, for this price, this commission, the winner, God willing, gets the prize. Once again, the loser just loses the bet, albeit a costly one. The loser likely paid little in commission.
Now, because of the nature of money lines, should the underdog win, he too would likely be shorted real, or close to real, odds...the commission. I guess that's up to the book.
Not perception, reality...losers just lose what they risk...

But for the love of all that's Holy, don't bet against God.
