    I read a lot but the majority of my reading is mobster related or courtroom related or biographies. The one book I read that was outside my norm was The Da Vinci Code. It actually is my favorite and while many of the books I have read were also movies and the books are always better in this case the book was far and away much better.

    Not surprising that a thread about literature would die in here before reaching the bottom of page 2. Actually, I'm surprised it made it to page 2!

    Anyway, wanted to contribute...

    Off the top of my head, some all-time favorites were:

    Rule of the Bone -- Russell Banks (a coming-of-age story, but a pretty dark one... even as an adult, I really connected with this story of a kid trying to find himself)

    Infinite Jest -- David Foster Wallace (can't even describe it; very cerebral but incredibly written if you can get through it)

    Clockers -- David Price (sort of The Wire before there was The Wire )

    During the fall semester I was forced to read "Treasure Forest" by Cat Bordhi. Actually wasn't bad...other than that I don't read much. Back in the day I would read Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings. Now it's just Sports Illustrated or gazing at lines on SO.

    "The 4-Hr Workweek" by Tim Ferriss. Required reading after you've read Rich Dad. Best book I've ever read. The basis for how I live my life today. Like, you, I'm not there yet, but I'm damn fukking close.

    Non-fiction - The Revolution: A Manifesto by Ron Paul

    Fiction is pretty close though. I'd give a slight edge to the Harry Potter books over the George Orwell books 1984 and Animal Farm.
