    SBR Poker FAQ

    Windows Users

    Download SBRpoker.

The software keeps running the auto-update.
If the SBR Poker icon is on your desktop, right-click the icon and click Run As Administrator. If you still cannot download the update after trying this & momentarily disabling antivirus, fully reinstall the application.

How do I get my points back into my forum wallet?
Close the poker lobby. Your points will be auto-applied to your wallet within minutes. If 20 minutes pass and the adjustment was not made, log into the lobby, then close it again.

The software disconnects me in the middle of a hand.
If you are having disconnect issues, please run the following Ping Test (click San Jose, Costa Rica). Then PM or e-mail the results. Also include the internet type you are running (DSL/Cable/Dial-up), and whether you are playing on a wireless network.

The tourney started but I wasn't seated.
Close and reopen the lobby to be auto-seated.

What days & hours is the SBR Poker Room open?
24/7 except for occasional Sunday maintenance.

How do SBR Poker bonus points work?
Check out the SBR Poker bonus points guide.

    Mac Users

Q: Does SBR Poker work directly on a Mac computer?

A: No, right now Windows is the only operating system supported but Mac users can choose from any one of the following options to play SBR Poker on their machine:

    • Boot Camp: Install a copy of Windows on your Mac.
    • Wine: Wine is a free, open source application that works by converting the application extension.
    • Crossover: This is a relatively cheap program that one SBR Poster has reported works. It works similar to Wine.
    • Parallels: A virtual emulator can be used to run Windows. This is probably the worst of the options since it is more resource intensive and slower than the others. The other options on this list would run the application at Windows speed.

It should work as long as your Mac has an Intel chip. It probably does unless it is really old.

Lou, played again tonight and it appears nothing has changed. what gives is it going to be fixed or is the best it is going to be........getting disconnected all the time sucks.......I even took my lap-top to best buy and had the tech run a test and he said my computer is fine......IS IT EVER GONNA BE FIXED or as long as the masses are fine then all is ok

Glad I checked in here about the Mac stuff. I downloaded it when it was first posted and I'm pretty sure it wouldn't run. I'll check out Bootcamp/similar and try again.

    Linux Users

Install Wine (the latest non beta version).

Open a terminal/command window and do the following:

type wget and hit return (will download a wine config/tweaking script)

type chmod+x wiretricks-alpha and hit return (makes it executable)

type sh winetricks mono28 and hit return (runs winetricks and installs mono v2.8)

type wget pokerservices.sbrforum.com/download/sbr_setup.exe and hit return (DLs the poker client)

type wine sbr_setup.exe ( runs/installs SBR Poker into the Wine area within Linux and lets you watch the debug output in the terminal window in case something goes up )

at this point you'll have a shortcut to SBR Poker on your desktop. right click it, select the permissions tab, and tick ( or untick and retick ) allow execute file as program and click close, and the shortcut should now show the SBR Bull as the icon graphic.

you're now good to go, double click it to run it like you would in Windows, and up it will come, login using your SBRForum username/password combo

I'm not 100% sure it needs Mono v2.8 to work properly but I upgraded Wine and Mono both before I attempted
to run it and it works fine for me, and Mono has a small footprint in terms of disk usage anyway ...

Herky, I'm installing xcode now on my way to using Wine on my Mac. The Xcode dl is taking forever (it says 5 hours remaining???). I'll update you tomorrow on how it goes, but the instructions so far directly from the first post have been very simple to follow. Going to install it on my Macbook tomorrow as well. GL!

I installed on both a new Mac desktop as well as a new Macbook Pro using Wine. The installs went smooth, but I'm getting some strange GUI issues. All the buttons look black/scrambled and I can't see any cards. Anyone use Wine on a Mac and have any tips?
