I've been tossing some change on fading the A's and will keep doing so, probably up until the all-star break.

By then they'll probably get new players from the minors who WANT to play and then start at least winning some games.

The 1932 Boston Red hold the season season record for worst run differential (-349)
    The 1932 Red Sox were 43-111 (.286 win %)

The 2023 Oakland A's through 61 games run differential is -212)
    Through 61 games the Oakland A's are 12-49 (.197 win %)

There's several ways to look at this since the 1932 regular season was 154 games, and the 2023 regular season is 162 games.
The 1932 Red Sox were outscored on the average by 2.27 runs (349/154=2.27)

Through 61 games the Oakland A's are being outscored by 3.48 runs on the average (212/61=3.48)

The Oakland A's are on pace to break the all time worst run differential record of -349 runs.
I prorated Oakland's pace on a 154 game schedule, not 162 games, and will shatter the all time record by 50 percent.
At this rate, Oaklands +/- different would be -536 runs.

That figure is beyond staggering, it's mind blowing.

The Rats were dogs in all 3 games against the Cards and won all 3. You would think they would have no problem with Oakland, but it's the Pirates. They are a weird team.

A's are the easiest money in MLB. I can't imagine how much money books are losing. Everyone has them as the first leg of every parlay.

Good thing for books people are greedy and probably have them on 12 teamers that will never hit.

Their farm system can't be too bad at this point but not sure if it will prevent them from breaking the records of futility.

At the end it remains the same… another loss for the A’s. Getting close to the record breaking #25 consecutive road loss but first #16 tomorrow.

Just speak over Copeland with these new lyrics:
    Oakland 2-3
    Oakland 2-3
    Oakland 2-3
    Oakland 2-3
    They Blow
    The Wind of the Bay

    From the Chase Center
    To Oracle Park
    Across the Bay
    To the Coliseum

    TODAY
    We speak to Las Vegas
    TODAY
    BURN THIS THING

    This team hates wins
    You just love that team
    HATE
    HATE
    HATE

I call for a Supernatural Winning Streak
    Straight outta HELL

    Oakland 2-3
    Oakland 2-3
    Oakland 2-3
    Oakland 2-3

You better do it, better do it, better do it!

A's are 5-26 on the road this year. Back on auto fade when the A's are on the road facing a team with an above .500 record. Gotta do it! No brainer...

If only they actually won 1 out of every 3 games you might make money, but they don't. Books will be sending you Christmas cards by October.

Quite sad where instead they could have been up +15. Oh well, Pirates -280 and #16 coming up.

    *Disclaimer*

The numbers I'm about to used aren't precise, they're very close to accurate but I rounded them off for discussion purposes.
Hyperbole: Making slight adjustments in facts to make a point.

To date, Oakland has played 62 games, and have exactly 100 games on the schedule left to be played, or in other words 60 percent of the season remaining. (62 percent to be precise)

Oakland in those 62 games have won 12 of them and lost 50.
They have lost four out of every five games they've played to date, 80 percent. ( 81.5% to be precise)

As we like to say in my profession, "Let's do the math"

80 percent of all the games Oakland has played this season to date , they have lost.
-400 money implies 80 percent, 4:1 or in other words, four out of every five.
That's the break even number, -400.

(and if you're into sports wagering, or playing the stock market and you're objective is to turn a profit, breaking even is waste of time if you get right down to it, you're showing nothing gained on the time and energy you're putting in)

Betting chalk,on a long term consistent basis, will eventually destroy your bankroll.
If you lay -400 on three individual game across three consecutive days and God forbid all three bets go south, you're out 1200 if you're fading Oakland to win 100.

To recoup that loss, you're going to need to win you're next 12 consecutive games just to break even.
    Good luck with all that.
(I'm just trying to make a point here is all)

Don't think my scenario I just layed oot can't happen?
The first two weeks of the MLB regular season two years ago, there were twelve game where the favorites were -240 or higher.
Nine of those twelve games the chalk lost.
If you're betting chalk like that on a regular basis, your bankroll is crippled, and you're pretty much out of the game by April 20th.

There are safer ways to wager chalk like that if you must bet on the heavy favorites.
I tend to stay clear of any event -160 or higher, but I will use a prohibitive favorite I like in a two event money line parlay with another favorite I like, reason being if things go wrong I'm out just one even money wager, I'm not out 280 dollars for example, just the 100 on the original bet.

Stevie ^ You can bet -1.5 on the run line to reduce odds. Fade bet spotting the A's on the road against good teams is the way to go going forward I believe.

I've made a ton of money betting against the A's with the chalk this season using the double up theory also. This team is still hard pressed to win two games in a row at home or away.

There are many ways to fade bet these A's this year and win money rather then just betting the chalk with each game.
