San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler will no longer take the field for the national anthem after the horrific mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas that has sparked new debate over gun control and the role of the police in America.


Speaking with reporters before a game against the Cincinnati Reds, Kapler said he would only start coming out for the anthem if he felt "better about the direction of our country."

You can take away all of the guns, knives, vehicles, flamethrowers, etc., but if you can't mend the hearts, evil will always find a way to progress further. Also your solution of a culture shift means we are going to have 50-100 or more shootings before those changes are put into place which at this point we havent seen any attempt at doing that. Why not at least make background checks more extensive? No one is saying just eliminate guns off the face of the earth but why is it so bad to make a background check that dives a little more into a person to make sure they are a responsible adult. Also why not have a person have to take a gun safety course? Why are these steps so frowned upon?
