How many people still play with offshore books?

With so many states now having legalized sports betting, I'm curious how many daily bettors are active at some of the popular offshore books.

Is it in the tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands, or over a million?

I will move onshore in April when Ohio gets online gambling. Until then it's offshore.

If that's the case, then you should use both.

If you are a casual $20 a game player, probably not much reason to stay offshore.

But if you are betting big, and you have a clue. Offshore is best by far.

Like 75%/25% onshore vs offshore. Not sure I will continue offshore after I complete this rollover.

The heat will continue to build on offshore, especially with legal options pressing then government to stop offshore. Throw in the talk of bitcoin regulation, and there is a lot of risk.

People can talk all they want about how it could never happen and bitcoin can't get cancelled ect. I remember:

    1. PokerStars, full tilt, and absolutebet all getting shut down in one day. Money locked up, didn't get it for years.

    2. The domain seizures of all the sports sites a few years later.

Keep in mind that this was when the US had no legal competitors. Now it does. How much more incentive do they have now. I would be cautious keeping large balances offshore at this point. It will only get worse.

The biggest thing I have noticed is that bonuses have gone to crap. I think the biggest problem is going to be that it is just not worth it. I did not make any deposits this year at the main books. Got lucky with a BetUS offer and that was it.

I am winding down my gambling and not likely to be able to gamble in my state for quite some time.

If you want to just bet -110, people will still play offshore but that makes it harder for the books to offer bonuses.

A healthy mix of both. Diversify your opportunities. Don’t be like some of these meats around here who get walloped weekly by the same book with the same piss poor lines and then go back for more.

I have both onshore and offshore accounts. When I am not in my home state (Pennsylvania) I have no choice but to use my offshore out (Heritage) which I usually prefer to my in state options anyway.

I still use offshore books,do not understand why one would not. At -110 flat the break even is 52.5 %...so after net winnings take off about 25 %....you're break even is now at a # that makes it impossible to come out ahead !!!

In any case off-shore has lost a lot of business after many states legalized sports wagering. Would be curious on that % of their business now moved domestically and how much money $ lost vs prior years? Had to be a big hit on income.

If i was moving 10s of thousands of dollars, i'd bet offsore for sure. get paid in bitcoin and all of that. But I, like most casual bettors, like immediate payouts through paypal or directly to my bank.

Bookmaker and Heritage. I loved BOL but they pulled out of NJ.

Tried onshore, but not a fan. They don't pay nearly as fast and odds aren't as good.

Can you get agents from offshore? I was always curious, because most of the "local" type books are like pay per head managed sites whose lines are garbage and/or juice you a ton.

I love hitting brick and mortar sportsbooks because they have cash on point and it keeps up discipline, the problem now with the US is that tracking is so big a guy like me can't play 5k plus games easily without fear of being tracked, big time.

You're foolish to not use both onshore and offshore. We'll see how the US govt reacts to BTC and offshore transfers. My GUESS here is that it won't be long before BTC is not useable in any meaningful way For anything, without a TON of hassle via govt regulation. Just a hunch though

Being in Fl I’m still using heritage, and with the Indians on their way to being the only one allowed to run mobile sports wagering in Fl it looks like I’ll hang with offshore till we see what kinda lines they will put up. They will have no incentive to offer anything, being they will be the only book in Fl.

If I’m reading it right DK and FD are trying to get enough signatures to put it on a ballot in 2022 but it doesn’t seem to be working. There were three lawsuits trying to block the Indians and a federal judge threw the first one out, which makes the other two almost impossible to win

That Harrah's in Cherokee, NC takes sports bets now, but it's 3 hours away from Atlanta. No thanks.
