right now it *appears* to be more than a dead cat bounce, it appears more solid than that.

but one more bit of bad Corona news and that could all go to hell and a handbasket

My neighbor stopped me today when I was leaving the house to tell me all about how the bubble is finally bursting, and we’re screwed. Similar to ‘08, but no amount of bailouts will save us. Maybe for a short amount of time only.

I guess he knew someone in ‘08 that was a big shot, and sat at the table with world leaders discussing how to save the economy. We were 48 hours away from a worldwide credit freeze. Trucks stopping, stores closing, and it would be every man for themselves since no money was moving.

He seems to think that this is gonna be Great Depression type shit coming up. After we stopped the gold standard in ‘71, we had a 50 year max of holding the market together, and time is up. Half of us will lose our jobs, and we go the way of Venezuela. We will need to go back to gold, and silver behind us. Something backing the dollar. This is just the beginning of our demise, and the market is gonna go as low as 5K.

Or everything needs to go digital, and/or the way of crypto currency. The powers at be will have their finger on the pulse of everything, and we finally go away from cash completely. I don’t know. Guy sounds like a conspiracy nut who takes what he sees from some guy on YouTube as the gospel. I guess this guy called the market crashing a few weeks ago.

So, my neighbor is telling everyone how he called it, and saw it all coming. Guy was talking to me like I’m a moron, per the usual, like he always does. Explaining to me how buying stocks on the margin works like I have no clue. And that those who do so just learned that they owe now when the market dipped.

He’s been studying this shit for the past 5 years, and thinks I may have missed 2008 since I was only 20. I didn’t mention to him how I got involved in 2009 when I had a quarter mil thrown at me, which was mostly in stocks. Easier to just make the guy feel smart, and act dumb. He once told me that I reminded him of his autistic son because I’m antisocial, and weird. Until he saw me come home with some blonde dime. Which I have no recollection of, but then he changed his thoughts on me to just being a junkie. Guy needs attention, and to be smarter than everyone, but fck it I care. I just smile, nod, and act like a big ole dummy. Prepare for the worst, if you believe him. He says that if the market made you feel rich after it’s rise, that you’ll be in for a rude awakening soon.

I tend to think that a lot are thinking that way and selling off. It will bounce back.
i can tell your neighbor is completely biased. i have a buddy just like your neighbor. he hates trump. took all of his money out of the market the morning after trump took out hillary. my buddy is just salty he has missed the last 3+ years incredible market run. so keeps saying every time there's a correction, that this is the bubble bursting. one day, your neighbor and my friend will be right, but in the meantime they keep missing their guesses and they keep hating on all of us who are riding this great wave.

    market in bright green today

ROYer I am worried about the weak-hands who held last week and are now looking for their chance to get out higher than they would have on Thurs. I feel like we have not flushed them all out yet.

On the bright side if you don’t mind tying up money for a while there certainly are tons of bargains out there.

    honestly,

the credit crisis slaughter, the recovery, the record low unemployment rate recently and the coronovirus slaughtering the economy are all MUCH BIGGER than trump, obama, george W etc... they would have happened with any president although George W didn't help things with some actions.......... to blame or give credit for any of this to obama or trump is completely asinine.

Just listen to Warren. It’s that simple. Invest in good stocks. Don’t know what market will do in 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 5 years, but America will thrive and so will your stocks.
