Just saw the story earlier this week that he was near death. Sad story.

Amazing to think he was Eli's backup in the Giants first Super Bowl win. I recall earlier that year Eli was questionable and they though Jared would start, but Manning eventually played.

His other nickname was The Pillsbury Throwboy.

1st story - Nicest fat dude, 450 lbs, black dude. HUGE GUY!!! I rented an apartment to his mom back in the day and been friends with the family for a while, he was always really fat. He'd be out bbq'ing chicken and alot of it almost daily. I'd kick with him at times outside and just talk to him. He had friends though. We became friends. Super nice guy.. I really liked him.. I said man lose that weight you're gonna die young, he said I can't I try and I know.. He tells me I can't get a job, i can't go to concerts, I can't fit on planes and travel, can't sit in normal seats ever so I just stay home.. Out in public people laugh at me too..

I told him make a change, start walking and stop eating so much.. He said he would try. 2 weeks later he had a massive heart attack in his moms apartment bathroom.. Took like 8 people to drag his dead body out of the apartment bathroom. His mother was devastated.. I felt bad for her.. I didn't feel bad for him but I do miss him.

2nd story - My Postman, he was obese growing up, I didn't meet him when he was 375 pounds and 5'10 white dude.. I did see him at maybe 250lbs delivering the mail, 1 year later he's 180 pounds probably and looking great. I talk to him and say "you lost the weight and are looking great man", congrats!!!.. He tells me thanks.. I said how did you do it? Did you change your diet and start working out? He said, nope, I walk ALL DAY delivering mail and that did it.. I tell him that's awesome.. He was all smiles

One day he stops delivering the mail and I don't see him for a year.. I see him again a year later back to 375 pounds and I didn't recognize him.. I had to take a double take when he came up to me and said hello at the grocery store.. I said holy crap buddy what happen to you why don't you deliver the mail anymore? He said he got in a car accident and got injured and is on disability now.. I didn't mention the weight gain and just wished him luck..

Oh I know.. Offensive line men especially have major health issues typically after retiring.. Nate Newton of the Dallas Cowboys was a perfect example.. He found a way and got it done. Alive and kicking today!!

If you've gone to the doctor... and he did blood work and found out something was wrong... it's on you to correct it.

Highest I ever weighed in my life was 227 lbs. And seriously... I tried to get bigger... and couldn't get past 227 lbs. I can't imagine what else you could eat to go past that?? I was eating 6-8 corn dogs at once... triple cheeseburger here and there.

It different for everyone man, while a person should absolutely figure out they can’t eat certain things or a certain way fact is many ppl could eat the same and some get fat while others don’t.

Unfortunately I’m not genetically blessed in this category, I have to be careful especially when I’m not hitting gym cause it really easy for me to put on weight.,, it nice in the aspect I can gain and keep muscle way easier than most but ot sucks as in if I get lazy I put on fat like crazy too!! So depends how you look at it, I like the fact I can easily add and carry as much muscle as I want, don’t mind that I have to work to not get fat!!

Another thing about it (for myself anyways) is because of my frame and ability to carry weight it super easy for me to jump 20-30 lbs and not even notice it!! I’m sure that goes the same for others. Again I’m not defending it cause ultimately you have to understand your body and put yourself in check if you have these issues. Couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve packed on 20-30 extra over the winter, difference is when that happens I get some act right and start eating super healthy and exercise along w work to get back where I need to be, it def helps me having a physically demanding job, if I was the office type I could see it being harder! Of course it be easier to hit gym hard if I sat at desk all day!!

Bottom line is I almost never stay at same weight for very long, I fluctuate like crazy either adding or losing, preferably when I add im adding muscle but have had many stretches where I add fat then have to lose it back! You wouldn’t freakin believe my wardrobe w all the various sizes of clothes! Lol. Cool when I shift from one way to the other cause it like I went on a shopping spree with all the clothes I havnt worn for year or 2!! Lol:

Long way of sayin I can sympathize but at same time it no excuse. Nothing more pathetic than fat ppl who complain they can’t eat and behave same as other ppl. While that is true so fukkin what?? You know this so to just dismiss it as “while I’m eating no different than so and so” is a pathetic cop out. Everyone’s genetics are different, you play the hand you are dealt. Or you just become a fat self pitty type Mfer!! Not for me.

Depends how tall and old you are? I've been around 230-240 my entire life but I'm 6'5" and fit, but I work at it daily and eat right. Been active my entire life. Bodies in motion remain healthy and lean!

I can eat as much good food as I want and still not get fat today at 50.. The minute I stop exercising daily though and just lay around the house eating junk food I'll get fat as fock in a couple weeks time.. I probably could get up to 400 pounds if I tried in 6 months time and die trying.. NO THANKS!!!!

I love the junk food to like everyone else, pizza, cheese and pints of Haug ice cream is the best.. I just choose not to eat it..

I gained 25 pounds in 5 months at one point in my life. It's amazing how it can sneak up on you. Especially if you drink alcohol as I do. Alot of empty calories.

I think you have to look at the entire picture... dude was overweight for numerous years of his life.... he went to all the practices and conditioning.... probably put more pressure on his heart and other organs???

You'd have to figure he burned probably 1000 calories every day at conditioning etc... what on earth was this guy eating afterwards? Wow.

Wayyyy more than that. I hit the gym daily and play singles tennis 3xs a week. I do heavy lifting 3xs a week as well (bench is 315-365; leg press 450+) I conservatively estimate my daily caloric burn at 3600. I dont eat over 2700 calories a day and consume less than 150 carbs daily. I weigh 260 and struggle mightily to ever get under 250. I could be 325 in 60 days w no tennis.

It's all genetics. By 15 or 16 you're either gonna be fat or fit. Jared wasn't even fit fat, he was fat. No dieting or exercise could fix his issues, they were genetic and mental. It's very sad. He was helpless.

It's okay. They all read the same thing I did. We the forum saw you out of the closet and dancing around, showering Schaap with loads of praise much the way you'd want Schaap to shower you with loads of Schaap. We saw you, fella.

Don't worry, whatever happens at whatever cheap motel you lure Schaap to, stays at that cheap motel.

My fiance is from Ukraine and they have it right. Smaller portions for one. Natural and not processed foods. Plus half their people don't own cars so they walk all over hell and back. I'm pretty physically fit for 53, but she can wear heels and walk twice as fast as I can. I want to be sympathetic to fat Americans, but 90% just don't give a shit. I live in Indiana and see it every day.

Either way RIP to Jared Lorenzen. He was fun to watch at Kentucky!
