Look at the nets. Their best players are all from free agency and trades. Dinwiddie, Jordan, KD, and Irving. All their little role players suck balls except for Caris Lavert. Jarett Allen blows balls. Joe Harris is a 10th man on a championship team. Etc.

What team can you honestly say has developed all their young players since the year 2015 and they are now relevant? Look at Dallas. They drafted one superstar and the rest are all trades and free agents. Prozingis. Hardaway. Curry. Caldwell Stein.

Maybe the only team I can think of is the Kings? Drafted most of their players, but they suck dick year in and year out. By the time Fox Bagley Hield etc all devleop into premier all stars, they're going to separate and command max money. That's the problem with waiting and waiting and grooming and grooming.
Well having a development culture doesn't preclude you from making trades. Funny you should mention the Nets seeing as they DO have a development culture with Kenny Atkinson a great teacher. Dinwiddie was not drafted by the Nets but they got him when nobody else wanted him -Pistons released him mid-season. Irving is trash, Durant we'll see, DJ is effective but getting worse by the year.

19-42 now so they need to go 9-12 the rest of the way just to push... yeah most likely under. Miller's given them a chance though if schedule is favourable

    Fizdale starting 4-18

Although that did get him fired so maybe it was a good thing in the long run

I expect their record will get worse not better. Lottery teams tend to go to pieces at this time of year.

Irving is trash? He shits on any Nets player not named KD. What's trash is pretty much everyone else on that team. You're not going to advance in the playoffs just playing your devleopment players and "playing hard" and "playing tough." Look at the fukkin Bulls. All their players dive on the hardwood starting in the first quarter for loose balls. Worst fukking team. Think they're gonna win by getting their teeth chipped out there. Smh.

    Idiots running these NBA teams.

Would literally dump every single player on the Knicks roster not named Randall, Barrett, and Dennis Smith JR. You bring in Taj Gibson but you won't bring in Carmelo Anthony for the same money?

    Lmfao.

    Idiots.

I can beat Taj Gibson 1 on 1.

I will say though the Knicks are a team that could have used Anthony this year. In fact, there's talk of bringing him in next year

Can't believe Atkinson has lost his job. I'll give Irving credit for that even though he was injured. It's a tribute to the Celtics' front office that Stevens kept his job in Boston last year with all the drama Irving caused.

Atkinson! Can't blame it all on Irving though, I'm sure Durant had his part in it too...

Bulls +6 has to be worth a bet here. Atkinson was well liked by all the players (except for 2). This came as a shock to them too. Not sure we see their best today

Knicks will make the mistake of taking Ball, Iím sure. They need a PG, but another one that canít score isnít the answer.

Knicks going after Atkinson? Would be the first good move they have made in a long time... maybe the new guy Rose is ok.

Nets basically fired Atkinson because of Deandre Jordan

Atkinson & Irving are polar opposites. Atkinson builds guys up, gives them confidence. Irving is a black hole, destroys everything. They picked the wrong guy, but like you say it was probably Durant too, so tough to navigate that one!

Durant reportedly said in the final meeting, this is not the right culture for a championship -a guy that basically hopped into Harrison Barnes' place to get rings... couldn't help build it up himself in OKC.

Players' league. As if there was any doubt before

I'm picturing Irving on the phone with James asking him for tips and advice on how to get his coach ousted as smoothly as possible

With the NBA’s plan to return for the 2019/20 in place, the Knicks are officially in the offseason stage as the organization was not one of the 22 teams summoned to Orlando.

In addition to searching for a new head coach, newly minted team president Leon Rose will also have to focus on building the roster for next season. Last summer’s big free-agent signing, Julius Randle, is someone the team would be open to trading, Marc Berman of the New York Post writes.

The Knicks have already explored moving Randle as the team had talks with the Hornets ahead of this year’s trade deadline. Randle signed a three-year, $63MM deal last summer after New York failed to land Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving in free agency.

Randle had flashes of brilliance this season but his defensive shortcomings and ball-dominant style of play failed to mesh with the Knicks’ core of youngsters. Randle averaged 19.7 PPG and 9.7 RPG in 64 games but his strong three-point shooting from a year prior fell to 27.7%.

As Berman notes, there are some financial implications that could hinder dealing Randle but his $18.9MM salary for next season is manageable. Also, still just 25 years old, Randle can be a helpful piece to an NBA team.

As the Knicks intensify their pursuit for a new head coach, interim head coach Mike Miller has support from people in the organization to remain on the coaching staff, SNY’s Ian Begley reports.

Miller, 55, was moved up from assistant coach to interim head coach following the dismissal of David Fizdale in early December last year. While the Knicks’ losing record persisted, the team played better under Miller, going 17-27 in 44 games until the season was stopped amid the coronavirus pandemic.

With new team president Leon Rose in the fold, the Knicks reportedly former Timberwolves head coach Tom Thibodeau at the top of their list. However, in addition to Miller, the team also plans to interview former Nets coach Kenny Atkinson and former Knicks head coach from 2012-14 Mike Woodson.

While Miller’s lone head coaching experience has been a 44-game stretch this season, he has experienced success at other levels, most notably winning Coach of the Year with the G League’s Westchester Knicks in 2017/18. It remains to be seen if Miller is seriously considered as the full-time head coach but he has impressed team officials enough to be at least considered.

KP on the block apparently. Didn't the Mavs learn from the Nash trade? Everybody wants success in an instant...

7'3 shot-blocker that flies through the air for putback dunks and shoots threes from midcourt and they're sniffing about for something else. Better be someone good.

KP playing superb. Hopefully Mavs aren't so stupid as to trade him. Not a player on the planet better suited to playing alongside Doncic. He is like what Bosh was to James only much better.
