How come nobody is talking about the Minnesota Twins ?

2nd best record in MLB, and they took 3 out of 4 from Houston
so you can't say they are beating no one

    is this team legit ?

I’ve been betting them a lot. That last series in Seattle books were not giving them the respect they deserve!!

The offense is 100% legit, I think they really need to add a starter before the trade deadline, if they do that they will win this division rather easily I think. If their pitching holds up they should run away w it, tribe thought they could cut payroll and still win the central but they have had some tough injuries and other guys not performing.

I liked them coming into the season. Ppl forget they were pretty close 2 years ago, last year was just a hiccup and they made some really nice adds this off season to get them over the hump.

    False.

What happens in May sets the foundation for where they gonna be in September.

I’m kinda the opposite, I’m into baseball early but by August I have to take a break cause I’m burnt from the daily grind. Then start picking it back up in sept.

Well I bet it but I don't watch anything until the playoffs. I'm sure many do the same

I watch cardinals quite a bit. Almost always on the tv when we home, it more just backround noise than attentively watching tho.

I’ve never really been able to watch other teams even when I’m betting it. I tried getting the mlb package a few times but just couldn’t get all that interested. I did like putting dodgers games on late, vin skully voice was incredibly soothing!! Lol. RIP.

Absolutely. By all star break they start gettin teams more figured out and I think tends to be a lot less plus money coin flips.

    Berrios is a stud.

Odorizzi solid, he actually been great so far this year but dunno how long that last? Always been a solid middle of rotation innings eater tho.

I thought Pineda was a great signing that gonna start paying off. His numbers havnt been there yet but I’ve seen him look pretty damn good at times and think he will continue to improve as he gets his feel back.

Gibson another decent innings eater type.

Perez has been shockingly good. Didn’t know he had this in him, he has never stuck out close to the man per inning clip he doing so this year. His velo has went up quite a bit. He either figured some things out or is juicing, probably both!!

I think to be a true contender to win the AL they gonnna have to add a big name starter. Like mad bum would be a great move for them! If they can add good starter I think they could have a shot vs anyone in postseason. They gotta do that tho, you can’t go into the playoffs vs the likes of Houston/nl east champs etc, without another big time starter.

here were the division leaders in 2018 on may 21st

    boston (won division)
    cleveland (won division)
    houston (won division)

    atlanta (won division)
    milwaukee (won division)
    colorado (wild card)

so ALL 6 DIVISION LEADERS made the playoffs, and 5 of them won the division... go back to 2017 and the only team that led the division on may 21st and didn't end up in the playoffs was milwaukee

Not easy to come back after TJ surgery. If he can flash consistently the Twins don't need another starter. You're right, Odorizzi and Perez have been major surprises.

I don’t think they necessarily need 1 to win division but to compete w big boys in postseason they could use another front line guy. Mad bum would be perfect.

Good analysis Bank. When I saw Martin Perez was starting for the Twins this year, I thought it was gonna be a gold mine fading him. Boy was I wrong. After a couple brutal losses I stopped fading. How this guy turned his career around is beyond me. I haven't watched him at all, but his velocity being up could be one piece to the puzzle. And maybe juicing. LOL. To me the bullpen is definitely the Twins weak point.

I mean sure a lot can change but wins now count as much as wins in August/sept. The better your record is going into the all star break the easier it is to get enough wins to make the playoffs..As mike pointed out teams who leading their divisions at this point generally make the playoffs so while things can change these games just as important.

    Way too early

    Team overachievers

Statistically outperforming the league at every position

As LT would say, regression to the norm

But it should be fun summer!
