Are The Cavs Better Than Last Year?

    What do you think?

They basically swap Irving for Thomas. Also get Rose, Wade and Crowder.

Everyone is so down on Cavs, but aren't they improved?

I think people are down on them because Thomas is OUT until the new year, and then possibly gone in the summer. As far as June goes they're still the best in the East and the odds reflect that.

    Downgrade.

Rose won't play the full season and Wade is going downhill. This team will be a mess by the All-Star game when the Cavs start the blame game internally. God knows Lebron won't ever take responsibility.

They are better for sure. They are built for 1 more run at a title. They are assunung LeBron is leaving after this season.

Thomas solid replacement for Irving nid healthy but they have no intention of paying him long term.

The interesting thing will be if they trade the Brooklyn pick and really try to go for it this year. My guess is no.

Wade and Rose were great young players but it's hard to tap into something that's just not there anymore

    No.

They are done. LeBron can be the SJW he wants to be soon enough, as his days are numbered. Tough life he has. Been getting paid since Junior HS.

Better leadership. More brittle. Lue(Lebron) will need to manage minutes well.

Cavs are improved over last year for sure.

But the bigger point is the East is much worse than last year.

Cavs are virtual lock to make the Finals.

    nope

Winning on road is tough in nba

If Bucks healthy easy can clip Cavs

Why play season?? Cavs will lose 4-0 in finals anyway

James played perfect last year and they got demolished

They have the horses, but do they have the coach? I think Lue is averse to defense and all his adjustments are offensively related. They should have brought in a high end defensive assistant. Depth can match talent. With the guys coming off the bench now, they can rival any. So far, Koby Altman mvp in Cleveland. he kicked ass. Lose kyrie, gain Rose, Wade, Thomas, Crowder? Can't beat that. Still no rim protector though. only miss.

Oh yeah, and still a Lottery pick in their back pocket if they decide to upgrade in season.

LeBron is the coach. He wouldn't listen to anyone that he doesn't approve of. Lue is just a pawn for the "King."

May be true. But they can't win without defense. Lue has a mentality of just outscore them, which only works in the east. Just look what happened to Houston when they tried that last year out west. Interesting to see what Korver does. If he becomes the player he was, he can be a key piece. Lack of shooters means they need him and jr big time.

I think you have to separate the regular season from the postseason - they should be better in the regular season since they are deeper - in the postseason they will miss Irving's closing ability.

Guessing you're going all in on that Hawks over 25.5 wins since they're in the same class as the Cavs and Celtics?

You somehow get stupider over time if that's even possible.

improved. Love to Center could work out very well.. he is very accurate up close, and good for over a dozen FT's a game.
This will put him back over 20 pts. and 20 RB's, or close, Cavs better with Crowder running up floor. As far as Centers go..
he would lead league in FT %

Wade averaged 18 4 and 4 last year. How many guys in the entire league did that? Small %.

I like how ppl say great young players. Again, tell me how many SGs in the league put up over 18 ppg last year.... And then tell me adding a guy who can do that... who is the 3rd best SG of all time... who is a 1st ballot hall of famer.... still with plenty left.... way better than a scrub ass like JR smith.... isn't valuable...

    I'll wait.

Rose also averaged 17 last year. So would you rather have Emmanuel Mudiay? Lonzo Ball?

Derrick Rose will fukking shred Lonzo Ball. Not in the past. Right now. That won't even be a fun matchup to watch. Ball will get locked down and will eat shit on the other end.

And yet if the Cavs had Ball, a bunch of ppl would say "oh wow, what a great pick for them."

    F no.

Ya'll don't understand what it takes to win in the NBA.

I know the game and I GUARANTEE Cavs make the finals and Rose and Wade are huge parts in their quest to win it all.

I'm sure you said the same thing about Wade last year "oh, he's old now".... before he went on to average 18.5 ppg. Which few SGs did. Did Avery Bradley average 18? What about Marcus Smart? Did Jae Crowder at his position? What about Kaldwell Pope? All these young new fresh faces. Wtf did they do?

    What I thought.

    Think before you speak.
