Don't know what to do. I have a little less than a btc cashed out sitting in a wallet, scared to convert it. Don't want to convert and then wake up tomorrow having it gain back over 5k...but so scared it's gonna go under 4...

I'm not alone in advising calm. Nearly every major player in Crypto is telling everyone to relax. The forces pushing prices down are temporary and will soon burn out. In the meantime have a drink, woo your spouse or just take a walk in the sun.

BTC went from $30 to $2, then from $1200 to $200. The tough part is timing the next wave.

The only "experts" that say bitcoin is going to increase in value are people that are heavily invested in it. If you read any legitimate financial sources they all say the same thing that it's pretty much a scam and will be worth nothing eventually. I trust more the real financial experts than some computer nerds that invested their life savings in crypto currency.
Exactly. Soon when Bitcoin will be worth 1K they will all be saying "well few years ago it was worth 100$. Bitcoin still in a good place"
It may not be dead, but the bears are winning and will continue to do so for a while. You cannot make a guaranteed claim in either direction. Its still young and theres no past to look back on. Id say it keeps dropping though.
I believe the concept isnt over. But BTC becoming mainstream pumped it, and I believe will ultimately kill it. The fact that governments have tried to step in have defeated the original purpose of the coin.
Government proof coin will win. No clue how to create that but im sure someone is working on a concept.

And this bear market will be long. Uf so long(in crypto time) but ill wait to finally retire when it comes.Oh man save fiat for now at least if you dont wanna sell. Prices will be lower for f*** sake find 10 stock bubble charts and compare or better 100. And you know what there were also bagholders saying stuff you saying now. For long term buying check prices in another 6 months! If you wanna scalp now probably is not best time(unless you go for trade with 1% stop loss to get 2-4% etc.). Just keep at least 10% in fiat youll love it when youll buy with those 10% over half of what youll buy now lol.

I am not saying BTC wil go to three digits(is possible but not very likely jet) but that 6k$ is bottom lol well that is just no way. Biggest indicator is VOLUME(or better to say lack of it). Until volume starts climbing again no way we can say that was bottom!

You have a better understanding of what is going on right now than most people. BTC is not dead. It won't go to zero. Is the whole market in a slump? You betcha, lol. There's better tech out right now than BTC. Some blockchains are faster, cheaper, better. Since BTC was first on the scene in the crypto world, it can hopefully one day find a niche use as a store-of-value; ala gold and silver. I see XRP as sort of a hybrid between the "old system" and the new system (crypto). I'm not a fan of XRP as they have one large foot in the old system (bankers). But they may prove to be useful as a stop gap....
There's development going on behind the scenes.... Activision/Blizzard just signed a $16m agreement to develop on the EOS blockchain. There's talk of gamers being able to make money playing games all day. There are more examples and they are too numerous to mention. There are some countries thinking of switching to crypto as the national money. In finance, the big boys are on the way. (BTW, Goldman Sachs slams crypto publicly one week and the next week they are investing in crypto. Don't trust anybody! Research and make your own damn mind up.) Anybody making a prediction good or bad is FOS. No one knows! Repeat: No one knows! But humans are gonna human. Predictions make good headlines and clickbait but cannot be trusted. I cringe every time I read someone say something like "it should 10x by end of year" in this thread. Having said that, it definitely looks like it could be a long winter.... If you're into crypto, you have to be willing to play the long game (many years)... Don't risk more than you can afford to lose. My portfolio is down over 50% and I'm not worried because I like what I chose.... Gonna DCA (dollar cost average) at the start of the new year to those coins that need it...
Mining hashrates are declining. A problem occurs when it's no longer profitable for miners. In 2015 when bitcoin dropped all the way down to $200 we were at a breakeven point and then bitcoin boomed. We are getting close to breakeven now.
That said, I've been trading for 7 years and the only thing that would surprise me is a dip below $3500.
I've seen predictions on both sides. Thomas Lee says $15k by year end.
Charlie Lee has 800k twitter followers. It was fairly easy to make money off his tweets for a while. His tweets don't have the same movement on the market since he sold all his LTC.
Fluctuation is good for day trading but stability is good for the longevity of Bitcoin.
i have some crypto and have watched my wallet go from 15 grand to less than 2. This is all profit +now have taken initial + 3,000 out. Family had nice christmas. Still kicking myself in the arse for not taking it out. buddy i follow said april 2019 should go up.
Ethereum has gone from 1320 in Jan to under 120 in Nov...shedding over 90% in 10 months...the crypto scam is over this shits worthless. BTC has been less affected only going from 19k to just over 4k (losing "only" 80% of its value) but will be totally worthless as well soon
I think it is still not too late to sell. BTC could go under 1000$ and then maybe i ll buy again..
I agree that 2nd part of 2019 and 2020 could be a good time for the crypto market.

Bakkt and BTC ETF coming soon. Don't expect any real movement until April 2019. Hold what you have. You haven't lost anything until you cash out in this bear market.
This was all really to be expected. Last year normal people found out about BTC and news organization hyped it. With no one sure of the economy and it looking like a tax free shelter greedy assholes in finance couldn't raid/steal they bought it. Some won some, most lost once there was no steady increase in demand to keep prices inflated.
Now BTC is back to it's normal uses. I have always felt BTC should be around 5k a coin. I'm pretty sure we'll always see a range between 3k and 5k. Now is the time to act like a day trader.Buy in at an acceptable low for you like 3.2k sell before it hits say 4.6k, watch it drop back to 3.5k buy, sell at 5k. Rinse n repeat.
I don't ever see it getting back to 1k or less a coin unless a new better universally accepted crypto comes along. If it hits 1k bail it's dead. Because for bitcoin to be wanted it has to have a certain value. No ones interest is going to be held by something worth 1k.
For those of you who love online gambling games, you should really check out TRON. Aside from them laying a foundation for a great run in 2019, you can use TRX to gamble on dice games, baccarat, blackjack, etc. Poker is in development and should be out soon. Some games even provide dividends for playing
Man, the ignorance in this thread is sky high. I guess you've never seen a market cycle before, and I guess Amazon was a scam and going to zero when it lost over 90% of its value in the dot.com bubble
