How long is NBA ruined until?

Cavs can't hang with GS with Durant and no one is close to Cavs as 2nd best. Durant the sellout has ruined the league.

I say the league is ruined until roughly the end of the decade.

    2021 my guess.

    Boycotting it.

Been ruined since garnett started the super team trend and then encouraged lebron to do it on nat tv at midcourt after Boston beat cle

I say KG bc many have stars have tried in urs past but garnett was the first to form the superteam and actually win

Rasheed Wallace was the prototype bc he was a sandbagging 20 and 10 top 4 big that dogged it until he got to detroit where they won

I would guess that it's permanent. With the new TV deal any team is capable of putting together a super team and can still pay their top players stupid money. Everyone now knows you need to be on a super team to win. Players on the non-super team and will become even more disinterested and their play will suffer.

It is gross. The players have done it to themselves. The Warriors have made themselves into a joke. The Durant signing was just dumb.

Congrats to the Warriors. This lifelong NBA fan only watches you for betting purposes now, not for entertainment. No more jerseys, no more games....

good luck to foguring out a way to fix it.

Tall superstar, single mom by his side, jew owner (oh, now a new jewish face as commish)

just switch those back and forth a little and you have the same ending every year

it's hysterical, but got boring a long time ago

Blame the league, they set the rules, can't blame the players for just wanting to win.

I seriously want to know, what's your rating of each league by popularity? For me the NBA is like the NHL.

I feel like in terms of interest and quality MLB and NFL are worlds above the other two, and NFL is losing its grip just as admittedly baseball is super local

Bryce Harper can walk down any street outside this country and go completely unnoticed. Lebron James and Steph Curry would be spotted in Indonesia. Basketball's popularity is only second to soccer.

Depends on ur criteria or definition of 'popularity'

Ratings wise is nfl then nba, the rest aren't even close

Attendance wise it's nfl then NHL and nba in a close 2nd. Mlb again nowhere near

Marketing money targets ratings as the lead indicator to dump millions upon so the nfl and nba are big winners there

Merchandise is difficult but nfl is wildly popular while the nba promotes individuality which sells

NHL like a cult movie, narrow field of hard core followers. Mlb continuing it's decline

I hate to say it... but even though the NBA is top heavy... the popularity is increasing. I don't get it either... but it looks that way.

Haven't looked at the contracts for the Big 3 in G.S. but... all it takes is Curry, Thompson, or Durant to depart... and that team is fukked.

Cleveland would of manhandled them without one of the Big 3.

The Celtics had a super team in the 60's, the Celts and Lakers in the 80's and the Bulls in the 90's; this is nothing new.

Foreigners love leagues that are top heavy. That's the problem. League is growing internationally. The base is not 40 year old white guys, it's kids and foreigners.

Durant is their best player and they didn't have him last year and also steph wasn't 100 percent. Iggy was hurt and bogut missed two games. Cavs won in 7 with a miraculous comeback that nobody would characterize as manhandling. You mean a team with both curry and Durant wouldn't stand a chance? Cleveland isn't that good. They are a team of one on one guys and that can't get it done against elite team ball. GS the greatest of all time.

Its the game itself that is the problem. You have super teams in NHL and MLB but single players cant impact the outcome of a game as much in those sports.

Think of it this way. If you take Lebron out of a game the line will move by hundreds of cents. If you take Crosby out of a game it will move tens of cents. In NBA and NFL the impact of 1 player is too great and that is why you have these lopsided matchups.

This is an idiotic comparison. Baseball players wear helmets. Baseball has a ton of really good players. Basketball has a tiny number of superstars. The sport lends itself to closeup highlights of an individual. Baseball highlights show an entire field with multiple people, with the batter obscured by a helmet. Just a terrible comparison all around.

a baseball helmet doesn't cover the face like a football helmet

and what about nascar? during an entire race the driver isn't even shown, and he's wearing a full helmet, and yet more people would recognize dale jr or jeff gordon than any current baseball player... mlb can't really market their stars since the steroid era

Isnt it sad we're talking about 2 teams and there are 28 more. Maybe they need to have 6 minute quarters then the games would last as long as halftime lasts now, may make it more exciting and teams might have more of a chance.

Well I can tell ur not in the accounting department genius. By those figures baseball has the lowest percentage of seats on avg using capacity as the denominator.

I'm sure u don't have a ged equivalent so just take the avg attendance and divide by capacity. Mlb lower than both nba and nfl

Thanks for inadvertently proving my point further with subjective 3rd party figures. Real genius, stick to ur forte u know like getting drunk and hammering nails into tree stumps for fun

Well ur gonna be no fun then. Based on the numbers u pulled avg attendance over avg capacity has nba attendance at a higher utilization percentage than baseball
