I'm thinking of dumping litecoin and putting it into Cardano. What's the best way of doing it? I'm using Coinbase for my litecoin.

transfer to gdax, send to an exchange, then buy btc with the ltc once you move it over and then buy cardano with the btc

True. I think 20k was a natural sell-off point for many.

Btw speaking of capital gains should we report withdrawals from coinbase or only if they were greater then 10k I mean I got 10k on the year but not in a single withdrawal...will they report it?

You're supposed to keep track of the original buy price. Every time you buy... you keep track of the purchase amount and price of the coin at the time.

When you go to sell... you're suppose to do your own math on it. If you bought 5k worth one day... and sold at 8k. You would report 3k.

Of course... no one keeps track of it.

Think of it this way... buy it once... and keep it for 10 years. Then you wouldn't need to think about filing a gain on it.

Yah I get it I'm just saying I have about 3k in buys and over 10k in withdrawals that came from sports book so essentially they look like just straight up income and not like I can claim my book deposits should have been depositing in bitcoin the whole time.

I mentioned this in earlier posts. Right now, I see one big problem for Bitcoin.

The T/A fees are way too hi at the moment. I know this is an all-time frequency moment. But someone needs to address this.

This concept of quick + inexpensive T/A's is not working out right now. I could definitely see a coin like Litecoin nosing in, if they can address this better.

Never knew people were so concerned about reporting winnings now? People actually do this?

I usually just say... they magically appeared... and someone anonymous gave me a gift.

if you guys actually care about reporting for taxes, i think you could just go the bitpay card route and pretend like no gains ever happened

If CB doesn't send you that letter they don't report it but given that they lost the battle im not sure anyone using coinbase should take a chance of not reporting anymore over a certain amount. What happens if down the line they want more? They wanted stuff from back into 2013 and said if cb sent the letter than they wouldn't be looking for those type of people but were looking for the people who fell into what they were allowed to ask for. This is why I completely stopped using them for now. You don't fall into anything as of now but do what you want to do if u use them.
