Amen. Soft conservative coach. Very Wade Phillips-esque. He may get canned tomorrow.

Fits the team he coaches perfectly. Zero heart, zero desire, zero emotion. Emptiness going through the average motions.

    Pathetic franchise.

    Another product of Affirmative Action.

I recall him coaching Wake Forest in the Aloha Bowl. Saw him turn a 1st and goal from the 1 yard line into a 2nd and goal from the 30 yard line. He called a flanker reverse. Can't make this crap up. These people's brains just aren't wired properly to be in decision making positions.

Actually that is the aftermath of being encountered by a young lady right after I wet shaved. She literally tore the crotch
out of her jeans, threw me to the ground and had her way with me.

See http://www.sportsbookreview.com/foru...manliness.html for pointers on having the
    same thing happen to you.

Fukk Caldwell. The guy doesn't know how to say anything except "We have to learn from it and get better." He's ruining us. The guy is a fukin mute. Not a leader of men. How does a coach not know the NFL rulebook? What a loser.

Good call. And say what you will about guys like Jim Schwartz and Bobby Ross, but at least they were fiery and passionate. Remember when Schwartz wanted to fight Jim Harbaugh right there on the field? LOL.

    He has to go.

The problem with our owners in Detroit (the Illitch and Ford families) is that they are reluctant to fire coaches. It's ridiculous. Schwartz had no business being our coach for that long. When the Detroit job came up after Schwartz got canned, it was arguably the most coveted position in all of sports because of the sheer talent we had on that team. And we hire Caldwell, a man with no soul. It's a pretty basic concept that if you're O line can't block long enough to give Stafford time to throw 50+ yard bombs (which is his specialty), then you add a tight end or use your rb strictly to pass block -- not of that chip bullshit. We threw 1 bomb today to Calvin -- which I think might be our first bomb attempt all season.... That is ridiculous when you have a 6'6 receiver that runs a 4.4. You need to bomb it at least twice a game just to him alone.

Just lack of creativity from Lombardi, a lack of intuition. These guys have no imagination. There's only two things I want in a coach: A) Be smart. B) Be a leader of men and inspire your troops.

Do you guys even see Caldwell talking to the players on the sideline? The guy doesn't open his mouth.

1 month ago, it was publicly announced that we were going to fire Brad Ausmus. 2 weeks ago, Ilitch says Ausmus is staying. As long as he keeps going .500, he'll be sticking around for another few years. Pathetic with that size payroll.... Avila and his son both need to go, except Ilitch will never get rid of them.

Posts like this are why you've always been one of my favorite posters on here over the years. Outstanding post.

Being a lifelong Jet fan who grew up during the Kotite era, I identify with, understand, and respect your plight as a diehard fan of what can only be described as a fellow miserable franchise.

That all being said, I'm still not over one of the most painful Jet losses I've ever experienced. You probably remember it as the Barry Sanders 2000 yard game. Week 17, 1997. Wounded my childhood as a budding sports fan...the next year, the Broncos maimed it, and then Bill Parcells killed it. But I wouldn't trade my fandom for the world. J. E. T. S. Jets. Jets. Jets.

Caldwell deserves to keep his job so long as his losses remain entertaining. Philbin deserved to lose his job simply because his losses were pitiful.

He was absolutely brutal with Wake Forest back in the 1990's. Somehow lasted 8 seasons with a 12 -52 ACC record! No idea how he even got this far...

He is not the guy that's going to take this team anywhere significant. His offensive coordinator (Lombardi) is horrible too. Neither of them have an understanding of making an effective game plan based on the talent at hand. Trust me, the comatose part of Caldwell's make-up is not his greatest obstacle. The Lions will continue to wallow in mediocrity under Caldwell (and Stafford).

Never blinks, never cries- hell he doesn't do a fockin thing. He is still by FAR the best BLACK Coach EVER!!! Not a one of ya can argue about that statement. Let's not forget its NOT fixed the game is a legit sport. RIGHT? lol
