courtesy of Heritage, Ladies and Gents!......I'm already foamin' at da' moufff at the possibility of a 4 team 13 point teaser (-120)...I'm not 100% sure yet but I'm leaning...
Hokies (+23.5) vs. Ohio ST
Wisky (+23.5) vs. Alabama
Washington (+23.5) vs. Boise ST
Louisville (+23.5) vs. Auburn
Please share your comments, opinions, leans, etc!...see anything you like?!...
I love the Texas pick, Canuck...might add that one as well and a 5 team tease with the Longhorns getting (+23)!......The two games that really intrigue me are Utah (-5.5) vs Michigan because of the Jim Harbaugh factor and the fact that he's turned every program around almost instantly and has won everywhere he's gone...also BYU (+5) against Nebraska should be one helluva game...
I kinda like Minny too but I fear TCU could pull away late. Minnesota has a formidable defense but they lost key guys on offense like David Cobb, and, perhaps their best player, TE Maxx Williams. Meanwhile, TCU returns virtually their entire offense from last year's prolific squad who was narrowly shut out of the BCS championship series (or playoffs, or whatever the hell they call it).
Minnesota being lackluster offensively to begin with, and now needing new playmakers to emerge, may struggle to find points. I could see them playing TCU close for a half, or three quarters, and then Boykin and company find their groove for a couple of quick scores, forcing Minny to play panicked offense and turning the ball over, allowing the frogs a late cover.
I think I like Northwestern getting double digit points at home. Stanford is not quite the team it was the past few years and taking the road for the first game of the year could be a challenge for them. The Wildcats are nothing special, but they aren't terrible either, and could easily make a game of this against the Blandford Cardinal.

TCU is scary no doubt. Minnesota plays well at home and I think this line is a little inflated due to TCU being so hyped this preseason by just about every publication and website.

Did Minnesota lose anyone good in the offseason?
Did TCU lose anyone?
Does either team have any freshmen starting ?
if so will they make a positive or negative impact?
good points and posts, fellas!......another line that really sticks out at me is the proverbial "sucker bet" or "trap play" is Penn ST (-6.5) against Temple...they beat them last year 30 - 13 and I love coach James Franklin who made Vandy very competitive in the SEC for the two years he was there...this is his second year and JR. QB Christian Hackenberg could be a potential heisman trophy candidate and is one of the top QB's in the entire country...I wouldn't be surprised to see him leave for the NFL after this season...anyhow, the line is somewhat low to me...maybe because Temple has been dog shit for so many years...and last year was an average, mediocre, meh type of season.

Can't speak for TCU but Minny lost their star running back and star TE. They return the same below average QB and will struggle on offense. Minny will have a very good defense with a great secondary. Take that for what it's worth.
Trendon how's buffalo looking this year? I'm a Temple fan and they will make some noise in the AAC with that defense but they lack some scoring power on offense. P.J. Walker can play but there just isn't enough help around him. Psu always has a solid defense and their offense is no joke as they get all the skilled players back and finally have 5 scholarship offensive linemen (last year played most of the year with walkons). I'd side with the better coach and skill players any day of the week. Barring any crazy turnovers and short fields I'd say Psu 21 to 10.
good analysis footballkelly31...P.J. Walker does have potential and athleticism, but he's very inconsistent...just like most QB's that like to run, if you can keep him in the pocket and force him to throw the ball and beat you with his arm, Temple is doomed...also, Penn ST has a lot of returning starters on offense and their entire O-line is finally healthy and deep!...and last year they beat the owls handily 30 - 13...I expect a similar type of game this year...especially with all-american, heisman trophy potential QB Christian Hackenberg, who will be a top 10 NFL QB draft pick if he decides to turn pro after this year.
I was thinking the same thing, bro...did you read my post #5?!....I mentioned how Jim Harbaugh has won everywhere he's been and he's turnaround two college football programs around almost instantly...(San Diego, Stanford, and made the 49'ers a top tier NFL team)...I'm thinking of adding the wolverines and Texas to make it a 6 team 13 point teaser which pays (+150) at Heritage...5 dimes (+135)

Hey, buddy!
It'll be an interesting season since the new coach (Leipold) pretty much spent his career at Wisconsin-Whitewater ... never losing. He was something llike 106-9 with six titles. So, that's a nice plus. Allegedly, his teams simply do not make mistakes and are prepared for every situation. This will come in quite handy against teams like goddamn UMASS and Eastern that UB loves to mysteriously lose 37-9 to.
That said, the defense will likely be unable to stop the forward pass - they intercepted two frigging passes last year and I swear they led the nation in most 50+ yard passing plays allowed - but the run defense should be nice again. Oh, also just assume the kicking game will be bad.
The offense should be fun. Anthone Taylor is every bit as good as Brandon Oliver and Joe Licata is a good MAC QB.
The schedule is an absolute f'ing disaster. You'll learn a lot from the opening game against Albany. Albany is probably going to be medicore (at best) this year so if UB doesn't crush an average I-AA team, then, well, LOL.
All in all, they will likely go 4-8 with wins against Albany, Miami, Massachusettes, and Kent State. They'll completely blow the Ohio and Akron games because why not and they will likely get beat by all of the stronger teams from the MAC. They got screwed on the bye week (getting it AFTER the Bowling Green game, maybe to help them lick their wounds) AND on the two crossover games (at CMU and NIU.) Then again, even if you give the Bulls a layup, they'll lose to Eastern Michigan and allow an unheard of RB run for 17 miles.
Maybe Leipold cuts out all the stupid mistakes, maybe the kicking game isn't embarrassing, and maybe the secondary can get after a ball while the front gets after the QB, and maybe Licata turns into an All-MAC QB.

As for this game, there is something about the Owls that I like. Last year's game - on the road - was a one-score game in the fourth. I had Temple in that game and I recall Temple REPEATEDLY being in absurd third-and-longs as Walker redefined what a sophomore slump was. The Owls were the worst in the nation on third down. I can't see that even coming close to happening again.
Temple has the whole o-line coming back, I think the whole NASTY defense, a third-year QB, a third-year coach, and it's at Lincoln. I typed my prediction up an upset before and I am being slightly hypocritical (and silly) since I took the points, but I expect Bill O'brien to be answering a lot of questions about why his QB had so much trouble again.

dude,
Bill o' brien is head coach of the houston Texans...he hasn't been in Penn St for nearly two years...James Franklin is the current coach at Penn ST...this is his second year....and he was previously at Vanderbilt where he led the commodores to back-to-back 9 - 4 seasons and consecutive bowl wins...He made Vandy very respectable in the SEC....anyhow, I look for Penn ST to be the darkhorse of the Big 10 this year...I think they roll Temple again similar to last years 30 - 13 score.

LOL, my bad. Brain fart. Look at the time of the post hahah.

Texas (+23) vs. Notre Dame
Like all but your Washington play they are gonna be awful
I'm not too sure about that V39...12 returning starters and they are indeed a very young team...but I have faith in coach Petersen...he's got an excellent proven track record (100 - 18 at Boise ST in 7 or 8 years) so I know he can recruit the players to fit his system...although the Broncos return 18 starters from last years impressive squad, this is a step up in competition...besides, I'll take my chances with 23.5 pts...also adding Virginia (+30) against UCLA...here again, I might be better to tease down and make it UCLA (-4) but everytime I do that sure as hell the damn game goes down to the wire!
UCLA and Auburn gonna wax.....Texas is getting to many
you might be right about UCLA...they have 18 returning starters coming back...almost their entire team minus QB Hundley...nothing is official yet, these are just leans...I might scratch UVA (+30) although I still think that is a safe bet...maybe replace them with Penn ST (+6.5) over Temple (remember that includes the 13 pt tease)?!...and I still love the Cards (+23.5) against Auburn...bobby petrino is in his second year and I fully expect the Cards to put some points up on the board...so far here is what I got...I'm not going much higher than 9 teams max which pays (+310)
