    Don't think he should get in trouble for things said inside his home...If that were the case 99% of CEO's and higher ups would be fired. It'd be great if someone had recorded Obama dropping the N bomb when he was 20 years old and then brought it back up now. Would he get in trouble?

    You're wrong in saying he can't get in trouble for private conversation, the NBA constitution applicable to owners gives the league the right to level a fine, Sterling signed a contract agreeing to said document.

    However, the league has no power to strip an owner of a club, the owners never gave the league such a right.

    The biggest problem Don has is not only didn't they have to actually strip him of the team because of Shelly's sale to Steve Ballmer but at 2 billion sales price it will be hard to prove any financial damages. Financial damages is the crux of a civil lawsuit. He can argue his reputation was unfairly damaged and it was,but he probably can not win damages. The the biggest gain he will get is just airing all the dirty laundry of the league. The hypocrisy and cowardice that led to this decision all being argued publicly will be his greatest victory of he follows through. He doesn't care at all about the money so he may just go down swinging.

    Basically this.

    NBA tried to f with the big boys and didn't think they'd get a fight, good luck with that.

    Sterling seems pretty racist but no one deserves to get stabbed in the back the way he did, the media put him through the wringer on top of that so I'd do the same. He's already won though getting that much for his team although surely at his age he doesn't need any more money.

    Would be nice if he wins he gives a bit back to a minority scholarship type thing not that I'd expect him to however.
