    Is that why 12 of 18 prelim games were won by 2 or more goals? Or why no empty net goals have been scored in the elimination games?

    Interesting note, 2010 saw 15 of 18 prelim matches with 2 or more winning margin and in past two Olympics 5 of the 9 games without 2 or more margin Switzerland was involved.

    Anyone betting -1.5 at -400 should lose their money anyhow. Those who bet those lines aren't hockey bettors. They are dart checkers. There are only 5 teams that could compete at opening ceremony. Tell me how those games fit into your theory.

    I am not the one with the theory here, you are, postulating that goal differential considerations factoring into the prelim games makes them less likely to see a 1.5 line covered than an elimination game. No time now to crunch numbers, but pretty sure if you bet all the favorites in the prelim games where -1.5 was available at 5Dimes or Pinnacle you would be up.

    My overall point is that betting -1.5 you should not be counting on an empty netter when you expect a close game. Canada at around +260 -1.5 here, meaning you need better than a 1 in 4 chance to have value, don't see it.
