    Stupid, Stupid Move by Mattingly

Once again proving how brain-dead he is as a manager. You don't bring back Kershaw on three days rest after throwing 124 pitches when you are LEADING the series. It would have been a luxury having the Cy Young winner available for potential Game 5 well rested, I don't care that the game would be in Atlanta. Now what if Kershaw does not have his best stuff tonight, which would certainly be understandable considering he has never started on three days rest before? Then, Greinke would be candidate for another nervous breakdown before Game 5 on the road.

LT it's the right move. You end it now with the best pitcher in baseball. Stop obsessing over pitch counts.

not sure what he is thinking here. Is it because he doesn't trust Nolasco? Theirs very little that can explain why he is doing such thing. I guess he wants to have both of his top pitchers pitch 2 games in the series

I agree, if this backfires today, Braves are winning the series. Unnecessary risk with Freddie Garcia on the mound. You end it today without Kershaw and you have him well rested for game 1 of a 7 game series. Braves win today against Nolasco and they likely aren't beating Kershaw rested even in Atlanta.

Better to have the best pitcher in Game 5 on normal rest (well, actually five days rest). Mattingly could actually be hurting the Dodgers chances more than helping with this move. And it's not just the pitch count, it is the combination of pitch count plus three days rest. This is a move a team trailing 2-1 makes, not leading 2-1. And as for my bet, that's not an issue since I never bet Action, so I just get refund (and am NOT rebetting Braves ).

Don Mattingly has never been a good manager and was an overrated baseball player and is Dumb as rocks

The problem with that is the #2 pitcher has anxiety disorder and would be pitching the biggest game of his life on the road.

Couldn't Agree More LT. Don't See Any Other Team Doing This. Kershaw Threw More Pitches Then Any Other Starter This Postseason. BRing Him Back On ShOrt Rest Bad Move. If They Were DowN 2-1 I Could See it.

    lt makes an excellent point.

pitching kershaw at 80-90% full strength reeks of desperation in an otherwise non-desperation situation. if they lose, they are in big trouble for game 5. kershaw is actually just 8-6 at dodger stadium so he isn't as unbeatable as some think.

if this move backfires, mattingly will be fired.

    mattingly: hey pal
    kershaw: hey buddy
mattingly: what do you think about nolasco?
    kershaw: he's a good guey
mattingly: no i mean about his pitching
    kershaw: he's a good guey
    mattingly: pal, you're pitching tonight.
    kershaw: but...

Line moved to -220 so thats the bottom line

Mattingly went from -160 to -220 to end this series NOW, smart move IMO

Kershaw has pitched on 3 days rest before but he didnt start, it was in relief.

Plus all these guys are on steroids or some other performance enhancers, 3 days rest is nothing these days

I agree with LT. Chances are pretty good LA is going to hit Garcia, so you don't exactly need your ace going to have a chance to win this game.

Koufax pitched a complete game on 2 days rest to win the pennant.

Kershaw will most probably last at least FF; I like Dodgers FF-0.5.

Sandy Koufax retired, or was forced to, at the age of 30.

This was Magics call. Said Matty let's win this one tonight. I ain't in the mood to fly the boys cross country for 1 fawkin' game. LA fans deserve a hometown celebration. Put Kershaw back out there.

If Kershaw wins he just made his ace pitch on 3 days rest
