I'm serious guys, when it comes to baseball just bet against OP whenever you get the chance. It's that easy. When the tigers lose tomorrow I am pretty sure he will be 0 for the entire postseason.

Whenever Wainright or Kershaw pitch, bet your entire roll on Cards or LA because they do not lose. Easiest money I have made in a long time. Might quit my job with this win.

I said well before the game that it was a stupid move even if Dodgers win because now they won't have him for Game 1. And I see that in the end, the Braves had them where they wanted them with the lead with both bullpens in the game, so Kershaw was not the ultimate deciding factor. I stand by what I said that they could have won this game without Kershaw, the final result does not change that.

I think there is a reason teams do so poorly in the post-season when they start a guy on three days rest.

A rested Kershaw would still be in the game and LA wouldn't be behind right now.

Nothing will change my mind that Mattingly did the Braves a favor.
BINGO! This guy gets it, unlike the dimwits coming in after the fact praising the move just because LA won.

Oh lol now we're worrying about the next series Lol.

Kershaw will pitch Game 2. What difference does it make if he goes 1 or 2? They lose last night and he can't even go until Game 3 next series.

This is the worst logic I've heard yet.

I already responed to your earlier post. How have I gone mental, it seems MANY, MANY people agreed with me. The Dodgers win in spite of Mattingly, this was still not a good move.

Profits you don't worry about the next series. If they pitched kershaw in gm 5 then he would not be available till gm 3 next series. By then they could be down 2 games. Of course all of the baseball guys would then say mattingly sucks cause he has his team down 2 games. Now donny is in the next round earlier than his opponent buying kershaw another day or 3 off. He also has the advantage of juggling his rotation and he has given nolasco something to chew on. I think donny did just fine.

If Kershaw did not pitch you do not know what would happen in a final game of the series Donnie had a take a chance

He kept them in the game and gave the Dodgers a chance to win

What is? If they win last night without Kershaw, Mattingly can set his rotation however he wants, maybe even pitch Ketrshew three times Game 1,4,7 if Dodgers are down 2-1. I have no problem pitching Kersahw on three days rest down 2-1 in NLCS. Didn't need to do it up 2-1 last night. I firmly believe that (obviously ) so we'll just agree to disagree. I have no problem with you because we had a healthy debate before the game. It is bandwagon jumpers that irk me.

I look at the flip side, winning without Kershaw last night. OK I think I've summed things up enough, onward and upward.

Lol now you're talking about pitching him on 3 days rest - twice in the next series! Lol you're all over the place here LT.

Playoff baseball is a different animal. You go for the win with your studs. You don't sit back and hope your lesser players come through for you.

I said if they are down 2-1. Note that I stressed in my initial post that my big problem was doing it LEADING the series. If they were down 2-1, then yeah I would have done same thing, that is entirely difference mindset because then desperation applies. Just like I'd have no problem with Leyland starting Scherzer today. But by using him last night when his didn't have to, now Mattingly no longer has the CHANCE to start him 3 time if necessary.

Worked out pretty well for the skip LT! I didn't have a problem with the move, and neither did quite a few analysts throughout the day.

Besides, he looked very sharp....giving up 0 earned in 6 innings! Defense let him down, but he was pretty stout.

Now the Dodgers have him lined up to go Game 1 on Saturday of the NLCS.......and may possibly be able to get 3 starts out of him if need be.

Right but if he had him Game 1, he could have opted to start him Games 4 & 7 if LA got down 1-2 (or 0-3). Fact that Dodgers won does not mean it was right move. OK, as I said 2 posts ago, onward and upward.

LT......but with the performance Garcia gave yesterday, the Dodgers likely don't win with Nolasco.....and would have had to fly cross country unnecessarily. I like the move by Donny Baseball. I said Kershaw could have gone 1, 4 and 7.....but let's be honest, it wouldnt have happened. Game 2 and 6 is just fine.

I dont undertand why you are so hung up that he is going in Game 2.

they have freaking Zach Greinke going Game 1 (who would be 95% of any other team in baseballs #1 starter). I know you can't be forgetting he is Cy Young award winner and has been pitching like an absolute monster.

its the ace up Mattinglys sleeve.

The problem with all of this is that we seem to be conceding that LA would have won without Kershaw yesterday. Well -140 favorites lose a lot of games. Then he would pitch one day later, if he would pitch even get to pitch in another game this season.

I had LA Series -150 and I cashed without sweating a deciding game.

the point of all this is to ADVANCE, LT. throwing Kershaw last night gave them the absolute best opportunity to do that.

no point risking going back to Atlanta facing elimination. you can't be thinking about the next series, when you haven't even won the one you're in already (prior to the game last night)

anyway, moving on, we are beating a dead horse.
