Put this kid on a relevant team he goes to the Hall of Fame.

Now I know how Steve Carlton felt winning 27 for that crappy team.

very very talented and SHOULD have a great career.

but until the league sees him a few times and he settles in, you can't just assume he'll always be great.

I've seen pitchers come in and be dominant for a year or half year and then turn into tomato cans in a year or a few short years.

seems like the age of a Maddux or Randy Johnson type long term ace is passing as by to make those very very very rare species

Don't remember with RJ, but Maddux was a gascan with the Cubs before going to Atlanta.

It's funny how some guys start like gangbusters and then fizzle, while others take a few years to get settled in. You just never know. Harvey's stuff is A+++, that's all I can say at this point.

Check Maddux's stats 1988-1992 with Cubs the five seasons before he went to ATL - 18, 19, 15, 15, 20 wins. And that was with some pretty awful teams behind him.

I don't see why you are trying to one up man. I'm just making good argument. It's from covers.com if you are wondering. Can see you also love Harvey's balls.

I meant when he first started. His first two seasons were abysmal.

I'd really only count 1 season as the first year he made appearances was really just a cup of coffee..

but yeah it is crazy how some show very little promise at first.

even Randy Johnson took awhile to get going. I remember watching his debut in Montreal, as the Pirate KBL channel started the broadcast with a short video of big unit standing with a little hustler named John Cangelosi who was listed as 5'6 maybe but was closer to 5'4.

I just recalled that it was Zach Duke I was thinking of.

his rookie season was sensational, but the next year he was statisically the most hittable pitcher in the league, and pretty much kept that up the rest of his career.

where that short rookie season magic went? I don't know

Agreed. He was a gascan with the Cubs for 2 seasons before pitching 5 great seasons for them before going to Atlanta for $ and a World Series ring.

This is the era of the pitch count, no one throws 120+ pitches too often.

And as far as ERA I can think of a few runs that were "earned" by Harvey that were caused by horrific defense behind him.

Love how people criticizes when they are losing money. This guy prob lost a ton of money betting on games when harvey pitches but you should notice your not backing harvey your backing the muts lineup. Its hard for a pitcher to win getting 0 runs on the board 3 the most. I went to the harvey kuroda game where the mets got the walk off win vs mo and this guy has electric gas. Seemed like the ball was at home plate the sec he released it.

Guys a top 3 pitcher in the league .. Guy is just mad he loses money betting those -200 met lines .. So he loses and blames Harvey for only giving up 1 run instead of 0 .. Dumbass

hes good guys but lets not forget hes faced the marlins 4 times the cubs white sox yankees when they were on their bad streak he hasnt faced any juggarnaut offenses yet. The only time he faced a REAL good lineup was the reds and he got 4 runs put up on him.

You are trolling right? In 13 games, hes only had under 100 pitches, 3 games and of those 3 games, he went 7ip in 2 of them.

I would suggest you check out this website called Baseball Reference. Its really handy, it lets you search ANY MLB player and view ALL KINDS OF STATS! http://www.baseball-reference.com

You do realize Corbin actually has run support? He avg 5.1 runs per game. You would also do well using this fancy site called http://www.baseball-reference.com

I said earlier Corbin has pitched on a team with a better offense ....

I was talking about Harvey with the 1 run lead if that and Corbin with 3-4 ... Nice one tho

Only 13 punch outs in 7 innings - run of the mill - you see that all the time.
