Centaur claims to be from South Carolina or something, but he also claims to have a girlfriend, and that's pretty obviously not true. So, in short, who knows.

For all this talk, team US has gotten blown out in the past two Poker Cups. It's not even like its been close, dead last in each while never having a chance at beating their foreign posting counterparts.

Well, you put USA's best 10 players out there, would probably win every year.

    "best" players in poker.....

You can have Ivey/Durr/etc. on a team and they would still lose.

Dam, I could have my spot locked up for team world already.

And for those who argue that team US doesnt win or whatnot, you cant really use the results of a few 4 man tourneys to justify what happens over a series that lasts for months. Bottom line, you have probably 80% of your users competing for 12 spots while the remaining 20% compete for the rest. It is what it is for this series I guess but if this exists next year please attempt to fix it. I know the same argument breaks out every year but come on.

The top two on the US team have a commanding lead over the entire team world group.

If your really stuck on the four team format why not combine world and Europe and divide the US into at least two regions. (north/south, east/west, whatever). Your above standings leave me to believe there is probably only 12 people total playing for the world.

Well said DS. It's the same fuk'in bullshit every year. Anybody trying to make the U.S. Team gets fuk'ed because you have the vast majority of players competing for the fewest spots. You could half ass fuk'in play for any other region and make a team, as you and these fuk'in joke standings have clearly shown.

We suggested this same idea to these idiots last year, that the U.S. should be broken down into at least 2 or even 4 regions, because of its size and compared to how many fuk'in SBR pro's who support this damn site are from the U.S. It fuk'in stupid and lame to put this much time into this bullshit and I for one could give a fly'in fuk if I make the U.S. Team or not in this flip fest, because that's all it is!

Good luck to those who can waste their time doing this bullshit, SBR once again fuk'in blows it! Cheap bastards will run a stupid waste of time shit tourney like this, yet if they really wanted to show some class, we'd be playing a 3 month tourney to send someone to the WSOP.

Yes, I'm curious why this argument keeps being made as a validation for the format of this contest. Someone who has played tournament poker for even a week if they sat down with the top three tournament players in the world would still have a legitimate chance to beat them in a SNG format on any given day. No player, no matter how good, can avoid the variance that comes when blinds get big, and you have to hope to win coinflips or be on the right side of the AK vs AQ type situations. Just because variance has gone against team USA in the past, that doesn't make it any more reasonable that someone who hopes to make team USA will have to score 10x as many points as someone who's hoping to make team World.

While I can accept that not everything is going to be totally fair to everyone (those outside the US are unhappy that most store items are not available to them while those in the US are unhappy that sportsbook cash is not available to them). As they say "life isn't always fair". But this is something which SBR could certainly rectify at least somewhat to make it a tad more reasonable - again when someone in the US is supposed to score 10x or so points as those in other places to try and receive the same award - that's a bit much isn't it?

Ding Ding Ding! Yeah man, how sad and fuk'in pathetic is that! A guy on the "World Team", where ever the fuk that is, makes it into the top ten with a 110 pts.

Team World? What a fuk'in joke, you're either north of the equator or south of it. Northern Hemisphere or Southern Hemisphere. Why don't you all break this shit up by the 7 continents? I'm sure Asians and Africans would love to have their own team. What about the percentage of Eskimos that play poker? You don't think they have fuk'in WiFi up in Antarctica?

Yeah, some kinda bullshit go'in on here! How can a guy form Canada get Walmart gift cards and Pizza gift cards? If the sbr store is limited to US players and US players can't get sportsbook cash. How the fuk is he on team Canada and able to purchase stuff supposedly only available to US players?

New York supposedly, but as long as you're handy with a VPN, it's easier to play for Team World than to play for your actual geographic area

It's been said before the contest even started, but DS spoke the truth again...the standings posted above just highlight the poor structuring. I understood the premise behind the Triathalon as a recruitment tool even though I thought it wasn't a good contest for pros (paying customers), but it's a bit baffling why the structure for this would be largely unchanged despite previous feedback. Some excellent suggestions have been raised to even things out a bit (splitting the US into regions, merging other regions to make things a little more competitive). At this point, randomly assigning each participant to one of 4 teams would more enjoyable and more equitable.

It's not too late; changing the rules 2 weeks in might cause some concern, but continuing with an extremely lopsided structure for the next 3.5 months is worse. Phoning in contests like this (and stretching them for such a long time to fill the calendar) doesn't send a good signal for Pro renewals...

Triple, this has been a 2 year debate with nothing done --- sorry, 2 more players added for each region -- with the same exact arguments. Team World will get a free pass and some decent points, while Team USA gets the shaft.

As far as Wulf, the guy has always been on Team World since I've been around. I know I should have shot my VPN out of the continental U.S. , so there is no one to blame but myself.

    GL boys!

Well, SBR Forum, is it that difficult to comprehend that an American poster, who contributes just as much to your forum as a poster from any other part of the world, has a miniscule chance of making a team compared to everyone else? Since that is not difficult to understand, the only excuse left for leaving this structure to the contest is that SBR does not care that it is being unfair to every American poster. I have no chance of making team USA, but I would qualify for every other region. The same can be said for a lot of Americans. This contest sucks, and the fact that SBR has had two years to work out a more equitable arrangement but has not bothered to do so says a lot about SBR -- none of it good.
