No public burial. Books are gonna get creamed here. Sf is a MUCH better team. They win easily.

As a 40 + year ATL fan that has watched every game this year... I hope ATL wins.. But my money will be on San Fran.

    I just hope it's a close game.

I don't know how many times I have to keep explaining this to posters. THEY DID NOT GO INTO A PREVENT DEFENSE. they HAD NO PASS RUSH. there for their corners could not hold up in coverage...

I love how no one is talking about SF coming back down to earth??? Do you realize they played an absolutely perfect game against the Packers.....This year when they have scored over 40 in a game they scored a total of 16 points following game. (1 with Smith, 1 with Kap). This is a classic public perception game, buy low on ATL and sell high on SF.
    http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/s...rancisco-49ers

I know the rebutal is that this only happened 2 times and it is not a trend/ guys hate betting based on trends....but I am using it to prove that SF had a perfect game (kinda like the 3 quarters up in NE) and then they came out flat the following game.

For the record I have locked in SF ML as I have an ATL future, but I will be backing a home dog and the points here.

i noticed this...they have also yet to put together 3 good games in a row. people dont think its a big deal, but it shows that they cant perform at a high level for consecutive games. IMO but what do i know. 9ers are the best thing since sliced bread according to these folks

Atlanta's been getting lucky breaks all year, from what I've seen. Think I'm going to take the points and hope for a close game.

Serious question here, since this "luck" thing is a popular opinion around here. Matt Ryan has led the Falcons on game-winning drives in the fourth quarter or overtime 22 times in his career. At what point will people stop thinking that is luck? At 30? 40? 50?

I like Atl. in first qtr. They start fast, especially at home, like they did last week and cave in 2nd. They do the same thing except lose in 2nd hlf big. SF covers by TD and Atl. chokes again. SF is still young, fresh, and not intimidated.

Seattle proved that they were truly the better team. 2 road games in a row and traveling almost 6000 miles in less than 6 days, which I think is unprecedented, a rookie QB, without thier best pass rusher, and facing a rested #1 seed, it was no wonder they were flat in the 1st hlf. After they snapped out of it, they totally DOMINATED Atl. the entire 2nd hlf. and should have won, if it weren't for PETE'S lame TO to ice da kicker. I still don't get why coaches do that, especially in that situation, a 49 yd'er. Thats enough pressure as it is. Why give them a practice kick before the real one??????

Every team that wins a close game with a final drive should have lost. John Elway should not have won 2 Superbowls because he won too many games coming from behind. It is now considered a disadvantage having a QB who can score in a final drive coming from behind.

Yep, according to most people around here Matt Ryan has now been "lucky" 22 times in the 4th quarter or overtime in leading his team on game winning drives in his career. That is one lucky motherfukker I guess.

I meant the 2012 Falcons as a team have gotten lucky breaks, close calls; whether it's field goals to tie, clutch game winning drives etc...they're not exactly putting teams away aside from maybe 2 games this year.

One thing your stat does prove is that Matty Ice has been playing from behind a lot in his career. Lol don't know how that's a good thing...

It's a good thing. Tom Brady rarely plays from behind but he lost the last 3 Superbowls because he was behind and was not used to having to do a final drive for the win. It's an advantage for a QB being ready when he has to come from behind.
