many people are very bullish on the raptors this season and i think they are right with one proviso: namely that kyle lowry doesn't become the next mike james (or to less extent rafer alston). thinks he's a scoring guard now. james was a ball-hog probably without much equal in NBA history. funny thing was he was a good guy. played hard. cared about defense at some point in his career.

raptors used to have great HFA but that's a long time ago. sam mitchell years and maybe early in those years. matt bonner years for sure. no HFA lately but it could come back. excellent fans and building can really get rocking if raptors play well this year.

i haven't looked but apparently tough early schedule for raptors.

    1. Lowry- Playing like a top 10 PG, big time defender.
    2. Val- Rookie center, LOVES to be physical, loves to grab boards and play D. The kid has a ton of energy will out hustle Hibbert for sure,
Val had Amare and Kurt Thomas ready to fight him because he was so aggressive and energetic with his skinny elbows...lol
    3. Fields- Playing well.
    4. Depth- Raptors have THREE players in Jose Calderon,Amir Johnson and Klezia who started last year coming off the bench, along with Terrence Ross and Lucas, Alan Anderson and Ed Davis.
    5. Coaching- Dwayne Casey has vastly improved the Raptors intensity and D.

I've been watching the Raptors for years and they've always sucked but NOW they finally got some D at the two most important positions, PG and C, and they have a bench now too...they will be a playoff team and they should FOR SURE FOR SURE be able to beat Indiana without Granger at HOME in the ACC. I put $100 on Raptors ML.
Gotta admit, this was pretty accurate.
    GO RAPS GO!

Not this time, the refs totally jobbed the Raptors, all game long. No respect at home.

Two deflection calls, plus the one at the end, all the Derozan non calls. Complete bullshit man.

yeah the last deflection at the end was clearly out on green. but bargnani is terrible. he takes the worst shots. he's up there with crawford and ariza in worst shot selection in the NBA.

He should never be on any team ever, Toronto were killing every time he was on the bench, 10 point leads twice, he comes back its all to 0, what a joke...

good point, guy is too slow for the fast break high tempo nba of today, should've been traded 4 years ago

but don't blame bargnani, blame the coach and the GM, they have made terrible decisions in the last half decade

How did Toronto lose that game, I mean seriously David West scoring almost all the points in the 4th quarter- 14. Had close to a 6 point lead with 2:30 left. That's just horrible clock management, horrible shooting, horrible overall way to close out a game.

It's classic Toronto Raptors.....this team has been failing Canada in unimagineable ways for 2 decades now.
