Jonas Valanciunas will be guarding Roy Hibbert

    Pacers can survive without Granger

You must not know who Gerald Green is. He is subbing Granger and did you forget about the rest of the team?

Bargnani was sent home yesterday with flu-like symptoms saying "he just didn't have any bounce" and they will see how he is today and whether he will play. Gerald Green is a decent replacement for Granger too. This is also a chance for him to show his stuff. Wouldn't be surprised to see a highlight reel dunk or two

I knew Bargnani would be on the shelf before the season even started, but I figured it would be his calf injury recurring. I guess he's saving that one for next week. The guy's a waste of height.

If Green can be anywhere near as productive as he was towards the end of last season...pacers will be fine in this one. It doesnt take much to replace Granger, just grab a guy whos going to take the most ill timed outside jumpers and youve got your guy.

Such a baby. GM’s fault. He coddled the guy for years.

If Hibbert can get Jonas in to foul trouble, then he can go off. But Jonas is a decent defender for a 'rookie'

So many new bodies on the Raps it'll likely take them a while to "gel", if they ever do.

    I like the Pacers here.

I am taking the raptors, line is at 1 now. I would of probably bet the raptors ml if it was bigger, if granger was playing.

Raptors are good at home. I think they win this straight up. I like how they played in the preseason.

    Hibbert/West vs Valuncunias/Bargnani

I just think Pacers have to much of an advantage down low for them to lose this game, even with Granger out. Lowry will be the x-factor in this game but I think Hill can handle him.

    Why the Raptors win

    1. Lowry- Playing like a top 10 PG, big time defender.
    2. Val- Rookie center, LOVES to be physical, loves to grab boards and play D. The kid has a ton of energy will out hustle Hibbert for sure,
Val had Amare and Kurt Thomas ready to fight him because he was so aggressive and energetic with his skinny elbows...lol
    3. Fields- Playing well.
    4. Depth- Raptors have THREE players in Jose Calderon,Amir Johnson and Klezia who started last year coming off the bench, along with Terrence Ross and Lucas, Alan Anderson and Ed Davis.
    5. Coaching- Dwayne Casey has vastly improved the Raptors intensity and D.

I've been watching the Raptors for years and they've always sucked but NOW they finally got some D at the two most important positions, PG and C, and they have a bench now too...they will be a playoff team and they should FOR SURE FOR SURE be able to beat Indiana without Granger at HOME in the ACC. I put $100 on Raptors ML.

both teams play some sort of defense in this game ... maybe low scoring? avoiding it

Raptors are a high scoring team. Raptors are not a good team to take at the half, they start slow but make great 2nd half adjustments and come back for the win. Raps will score more than 90 too many shooters. Even if Andrea gets it rolling, David West won't step out of the paint to D his shot. Raps have a lot of mis-matches and they have the coaching needed to exploit it.

then you would know the raps are notorious for late 4th Q collapses

sorry meant to say this pre-season. they didn't lose a game at home in the pre-season. I know it is just pre-season but they looked good at home and i think they are going to have a lot of support this season since there is no hockey.

The Raptors are notorious for a lot of things but this is a new season with a new PG and C. PG play is very important, Kyle Lowry is miles ahead of jose in both D, play calling, controlling tempo and aggressiveness. Val is a REAL CENTER, Andrea is nowhere near Vals BIG MAN IQ, Val does everything i've wanted to see from our starting 5. For the first time in years i'm watching the Raptors and i feel they have a certain amount of confidence and control over the game i haven't seen since VC was here.. I say this years Raptors team shatters all the trends of years past.

The line moved because of action, since yesterday it was confirmed Granger was out.

Raptors by 10. If Pacers struggle its a blowout. Demar has been talking shit saying Raptors get no respect, he said earlier they were fired up looking to make a statement this year, everyone is healthy and they had a good preseason. Raps win.
