Should I Do It? NFL Software

So, I was offered an NFL software package that supposedly is great at picking NFL games. They claim a success rate of nearly 70% winners ATS.

Software costs several hundred dollars but I'm not worried about the price, I'm worried that it's a scam.

Anyone have any experience with this?

I know several handicappers here do use tools like these to to help them pick games. I was thinking if I did get it, I would start a thread here and give out the program's "top picks".

    Any advice?

70% hit rate then why would they sell you the program? If I created a model that hit %70 ATS -110 would I sell it? Or would I use it and keep a low profile?

Well, thanks for the opinions so far, I really appreciate it.

Does anyone here have anything like this? I would like to hear from posters that have or have had actual experience with tools like this.

I want to know if it would be worth it.

Leaning against right now from some of the posts on here but JJ's opinion carries a lot of weight with me and he's saying buy it and use it as a tool.

what JJ mean to say was, "if you buy it, you are a tool".

C'mon man, be smart. As someone else already posted, if you had a model that could hit 70% there is no way in hell you'd sell it. You'd keep that shit to yourself and count you f'ing money!

Man, some of these replies just baffle me.

Do you say the same thing to everyone who uses tools to help them with their wagers?

Some of SBR's best handicappers, uses a tool like this based on software that's very similar.

Do you say the same thing to them? Come on, man.

And you didn't scoff and delete the e-mail?

Huge difference between this and something like DonBest or someone selling a database of statistics.

They do say they use a database. I don't know how far back it goes. I assume any reliable database has to go back at least 10 years minimum.

Still leaning against but very tempted.

    Unreal

So if I tell you I have a database you'll ship me money for my picks?

I actually bought this software, and they were being very modest with their reported records.

The last three years alone they are over 82%.

It's a definite must for the NFL season.

if they actual identified a long-term gain and then turned around and marketed it to a mass of consumers - the edge has already been lost.

What they are trying to tell you is that this is a blatant scam.

They claimed to pick 70% winners... SCAM

As soon as you hear that 70% claim, you can move on. It's like a guy telling you he has a great investment opportunity, that he can guarantee a minimum 50% profit per year... you don't have to hear anymore. It doesn't matter if it's stamps or real estate, the guy is a con artist.

Real handicappers would never mention a 70% win rate.

Don't ever buy software. You will get ripped off.

I'm not going to purchase it now but if I change my mind later on I'll keep everyone posted and I will also make a thread in Players Talk and post it's plays. That way, we can all see for ourselves if it's complete bullshit or not.

If your interested in NFL software,Id check out Mr NFL software.I believe Its free for the first half of the season.
You can use your own stats to create formulas or download formulas from there data base that were created by other users.

Some of there formulas in the past hitting 55%......Going forward they might have to be tweaked.
I haven't tried the software, but they seem to have a following....and it aint gonna cost you an arm and leg.

Just my two cents.....Best of luck this season.

70% is definitely a lie unless they backtested on their training data. You should know that if you have bet more than a few dollars in your life.

Bought a program my first year really gambling. Only cost $100 for both football seasons. Helped me realize how to break down games, and it did the same thing I can do now - but it does it quickly.

Anyway, you gotta figure out what it does. How does it make its picks - algorithms or hocus pocus?

70% is a load of shit.

Mainly, get it if it helps farm tons and tons of data and updates regularly. Don't buy it if it simply churns out a pick with the press of a button.

I'm going to keep that to myself for now. As I said, I'll post the picks if I get it.

As has been already pointed out in this thread by one very astute poster, let's say I give the name out and everyone here goes out and buys it and it works tremendously.

    I've already lost the edge.

So, with that in mind, I'm going to keep this on the down low for now.

However, like I said, I won't keep anyone in the dark. Ever.

If I get it, I'll post the plays. Then we can all see for ourselves if it's bullshit or not.
